In response she held out her hand and then gripped his, shaking it, perhaps holdong on for a little too long. She briefly squeezed it before letting go and following Sobeks travels with her eyes, her brows raising as she saw who the creature was greeting. "Seems Sobek is on a roll today, with bringing you closer to people. Should I call him back or do you want to go over?" she said, taking hold of her satchel and broom again, nodding her head to the grounds outside, knowing it was getting later and that if they weren't careful they'd miss the trial. Not that Gavin seemed to care much about that anymore. | |

Jesse was wondering where in the world the boys were..or Anna for that matter when shee felt movement around her feet. Gavin's devil cat..."Go away, Sobek..."Jesse looked up to see where he had come from..and Gavin and RIddle were looking her way. Jesse knew that a talk with Gavin that day was probably inevitable, but not with Riddle around. Jesse didn't know her, and it was uncomfortable enough just with Gavin..
The cat just wouldn't take the hint. Jesse hadn't forgotten the time it nearly scratched her to death..and wasn't too keen on petting him, but if he'd stop..Sighing, she picked him up and held him out in front of her. "What do you want, cat?" she asked, almost expecting an answer from him.. | |

Gavin wanted to go over but, he just couldn't bring himself to do it. He watched as Jesse picked Sobek up, holding him out in front of her. "I think I'll just leave him. I should probably just write Jesse a note or something anyway. I don't think she's ready to talk to me and I don't want to push her," he replied.

Anna woke up in the morning and wanted to fall back asleep, quickly remembering what had happened yesterday. She knew she wouldn't be feeling the best today... physically or otherwise. But, as she lifted her head, she was surprised to find she didn't feel half as bad as she thought... maybe it was the stuff in the vial Gavin had given her.
Anna got up and found that no one else was in the Chimaera girls' dorm. At first she was confused, but rememebre that today wazs the last trial... the broom trial.
After taking a shower and taking her time grabbiong some breakfast from the great hall, she ambled outside to where the trial would be. The first people she saw were Gavin and Riddle being nice and chatty. She rolled her eyes and walked over to Jesse who was... talking to Sobek. "Hey, Jesse... having a nice conversation?"

Gavin had completely forgot about his broom. Instead of replying to Marcella, turned on his heel and ran at a full sprint back up to the castle and into the Chimaera dorm. He pounded up the steps, retreived his broom from under his bed and sprinted bak outside. By the time he caught back up with Marcella, he was completely out of breath. He doubled over, sucking in air for a while until he could speak. "I'm all warmed up, how about you?" he panted. | |

OOC: OMG but school is driving me NUTTERS right now. I apologize if I'm not as available to post this weekend (though it might just be the opposite because of Quidditch *groans*), but I've given Ty and Eriander and whoever else permission to move Nik accordingly if we need to move the story along.
So like, he's waiting on 'Xander right now, so if 'Xander is ready to go to the field, then Nik would go, too (just remember to have him bring his broom! LOL). That sort of thing.  Just don't leave him behind please!

Alexander exited the shower to find Nik waiting for him. He gave the boy a look of confusion that quickly cleared up as he was reminded of the upcoming events. Both boys hurried to get ready, grabbing their brooms before they exited the dorm. Alexander wanted to run the whole way, but he could tell by the way Nik was breathing that the other boy wanted to and needed to take it a bit easy, especially with the next task.
They came out on the field and Nik moved straight to Jesse's side. Alexander wasn't sure exactly where else to go, not wanting to intrude on any of the other chatting groups or to stand by himself, so he moved to stand with Anna, Nik, and Jesse.

Jesse just stared at the obviously demonic cat. Jesse and Sobek had never particularly gotten along, and now this whole thing with Gavin wasn't helping matters much. Delighted to see Anna, she said, "No..the dumb cat won't shut up or go away. I'd jinx it away....but that would bring...him over here..."Her eyes went over to Gavin again.
Nik and Al joined them not too much longer after that. Nik did not need to be around cat fur..or at least that is what Jesse thought. So, she put Sobek back down and nudged him with her foot, grumbling.."dumb cat.."
Jesse smiled and patted Nik's arm. He looked a bit apprehensive..and almost exhausted already. "You alright?" Nik, as always, painted on his happy face and nodded to Jesse. Jesse looked back to Anna, and she was discreetly watching Gavin and Riddle. If Jesse weren't avoiding Gavin at all costs, she go and beat him senseless for being so insensitive to Anna...
Finally, Jesse was beside Al. He ....was different. He was always different around people. It just didn't make sense to Jesse...what happend to the guy she had had so much fun with the last couple of days? Even now, he was trying to be close, but distant. Jesse poked him in the stomach as she approached him, "Al...you alright?" she asked while pushing back her hair from her eyes.. | |

Nik could feel the medication kicking in as he and Al hurried to the field. His lungs still labored for deep breaths, but it wasn't nearly as difficult or painful. Seeing Gavin and Marcella together, he headed to where Jesse was and upon seeing the concerned look on her face, he grinned and reassured her he was fine.
Truth be told, he had never been so nerve-wracked in his entire life. From somewhere, he heard a quiet meow and felt a bump against his leg and he started, then realized that it was Zephyr.
She had apparently followed the boys out and was now brushing up against his leg, purring at him. Grateful for a distraction, he bent down to scoop her up and cuddled her a bit and scratched behind her ears. He wasn't allergic to cats - thank Merlin! - but too much cat hair is his face wasn't a terrific idea either, and so after a few moments, he set her down and she headed off in Sobek's direction after a last bump against his leg.
Seeing as how everyone seemed to be preoccupied, he let his mind wander off in the direction of... probability. As everyone chatted, his mind went to work calculating each student's probability for being amongst the top to become a champion for the tournament...

Alexander looked at Jesse when she planted an elbow in his stomach. "Ouch, go easy on me. I should have you disqualified for trying to injure me." He grinned at her and poked her back with his elbow. He kept a careful distance between the two of them. "I'm fine. Just a bit tired. I found Nik lurking outside the showers, which was a bit unnerving, but at least we made it down here on time."
