Jesse was having the time of her life on the Captain's deck, and even got to ring the loud bell that indicated they would be arriving soon. She tipped her hat to the Captain and bid him farewell till end of term. Leaning far over the highest deck she spotted just the person she wanted to see. He was, as usual, off by himself, standing on a balcony. Digging deep down in her robes, she pulled out a small water-filled balloon and launched it at the boy, and just a bit before impact she yelled his name, "GAVIN!!" to get his attention. She cackled madly and waved as he looked her way. "I'll be down in a minute Gavvy..stay there!"

Gavin turned as he heard his name shouted. Just as he looked up, he was hit directly in the face by a water balloon which exploded on impact, soaking him. His face turned bright red as he clenched his fists. "She better not be coming down here or I'm going to pummell her," he raged to himself through clenched teeth.

Jesse ran the whole way, down the stairs and through the few hallways. She arrived right in front of her favorite neighbor in minutes flat. She threw a towel at him that she had swiped on the way. "I picked this up for you on the way, Gav. Thought you might could use it, " she said as she gave him a wink and wipied her forehead. "What have you been up to? Lurking around like normal?" She reached down and picked up Sobek, and gave him a huge kiss right on the head, "Pretty kitty,"she cooed at him.

"I don't lurk," he scoweled at her but, as usual, she was unaffected by his glare and merely raised her eyebrows at him. "Alright, alright. I was lurking."

He was glad she didn't know what he was really up to. He would never hear the end of it if she caught wind that he had actually been talking to Riddle. Gavin suspected he'd asked Jesse's opinion on the rumours, why Riddle wasn't in Chimaera, and why she didn't use the power she clearly had or could have, numerous times over the course of the summer. Jesse, much like Crystal, had told him to talk to Marcella and he had steadfastly refused, preferring to lurk about and observe.

"Oooo Big surprise there,"she mocked and threw her hands up in fake disbelief. "You're so weird. But don't worry, I still like you." Jesse put down Sobek and dug around in one of her many pockets and pulled out Tim.She placed him on her shoulder, then put her hands on her hips. "So. This is what I was thinking, how about you and I go up to the top deck and launch the rest of these balloons? I saw some innocent looking second year Ashwinder's just on the other side....what do you say?" she asked with the usual sparkle in her eye.

"Is it just water in those balloons?" he asked, skeptically. "COme on now, what's the fun in that?"

Gavin looked around in his pockets. "Darn, I don't have anything on me and we're nearly there; don't have time to get to the trunk... Alright, water balloons it is," he said. "But, only if no one is looking. I'm not smearing my reputation by getting my first detention ever on the first day of a new term."

Nikolai rocked on his heels. "It'll be time to disembark sometime soon I think." He glanced out to see the distance to the shore and made some quick calculations. "Probably fifteen minutes or so, if all goes well."

"I'm going to stretch my legs a bit and walk around some more before we get off. Staying in one place makes my stomach feel a bit off." He glanced over at Crystal. "Feel free to join me if you'd like."

"So..I'll take that as a yes,"she said as she trotted off beside him toward the upper deck. She grabbed his arm and pulled him along to the place where she had seen the soon-to-be victims. Jesse leaned way out over the edge and pulled Gavin with her. "See the twits? Right there? Here.., " and she started handing him the last of her balloons. "On the count of three....one....two....THREE!" Balloons pelted the younger students, drenching them fully. Jesse ducked back down and laughed so hard tears ran down her face. "Did you see their faces? We got them good, we did Gavvy!"

ooc: Jesse is going to be a Chimaera, not a Bundimun.

Nikolai heard splats on the other side of the ship and he shielded his eyes and looked at the upper deck. He walked until he could see who was up there. He saw a waterballoon sail in a perfect arc and hit a first year in their face. The perplexed look on her face was priceless.

"I'm going to take a look," he grinned at Crystal and headed to the upper deck.

"Jesse!" He gave her a mock-stern look. "What in the world are you doing to the poor first years?"

Gavin couldn't help but smile along with Jesse but, as he heard footsteps coming into the top deck, he quickly ducked into a narrow hideaway.

"What? I don't have the slightest idea what you are talking about, Nikolai..," she said in the most innocent voice she could muster, turning to face him. She looked around for Gavin. He was hiding no doubt. She'd have to give him a good punch later for being a weird lurker. Jesse reached in her pockets. "Two left. Want one?" she said waving it in front of Nikolai's face persuasively.

Nikolai grinned and took one. "Don't mind if I do. Now who shall I aim for?" He carefully peered over the edge and saw the students looking amongst themselves with very distraught expressions on their faces.

There was a student who couldn't seem to keep ahold of his pet... something... and he kept looking around nervously. "They should pay better attention." He chuckled and made careful aim and lobbed it over and it splatted on the back of his head.

He ducked down in a flash and laughed into hand.

"So that's what's been going on up here. Good thing I didn't walk on that side." He nodded over to the crowd of youngsters below.

"Lovely form," she said in awe as he hit the girl right on target. Jesse reached up and put Tim back in her pocket since Nik had his cat wondering about around him. "I give it a for sure straight up 9." She nodded to him and pulled her hair back behind her ears. "Nice to see you by the way. I expect life's been treating you alright? OH! And by the way...I wouldn't hit you with a water balloon." She winked at him and gave him a reassuring nod.

"Thanks. We have some pesky lawn gnomes in our garden at home and I use them for target practice. You're certainly not bad yourself, seeing as how most of the firsties down there are soaked to the bone." He snickered quietly.

"Life's been treating me all right except for the annoying gnomes. It's good to see you, too... How have you been doing lately?" He sat on his haunches and grinned.

Seeing that she put Tim away, he kept a firmer hold on Zeph, although Zeph usually respected other animals and creatures unless provoked - unless of course if they were gnomes.

"Ha! You know me. I'm always up to no good and loving every minute of it. It's the only way to live you know,"she stated plainly. "ALTHOUGH,"she said loudly, hoping her sissy neighbor Gavin would overhear, "Mischief is more fun in pairs." She rolled her eyes as she was pretty sure she saw Gavin peep out. "Anyways, anyways so now I'm bored. No more balloons. WHat to do, what to do?" Jesse looked about the ship.Seeing the Nic had his cat under control, she decided to get Tim back out and let him run around a bit. She placed him just on top of her shoe and bounced him a bit.

"I'm not sure, though if you have any inspiration to do something else, you might want to be a little more careful, because there's company over there." He grinned and jerked his thumb in the direction of two older students who were being led by two whiny first years to the place where they had been pelted with water balloons.

"Are first years always this whiny?" He made a face and gently scratched Zeph behind its ears.

He craned his neck to see Gavin peeking out. "You realize that the more you hide, the more suspicious you look, right?" His voice was quiet and he grinned when he heard Zeph's meow in greeting.

Strolling back onto the deck, nodding, dismissing the minder who had carried her luggage back onto the deck, she watched as the boat pulled slowly into the dock and waited patiently for door to re-open.

"Suspicious?" she said, overhearing Nikolai. "Hadn't you heard, that's Ormand's speciality. Right little freak, that one."

Turning away, she clicked her fingers, watched her luggage float in mid air and yawned in boredom, leaving the now docked ship.

Gavin stepped out of the crevise he had been lurking in and glared at the three of them before stalking off. He walked back down to the lower deck, called Sobek to him, and followed the throng off the ship and into the awaiting carriages. Much to his dismay, he was shoved into a nearly full carriage and seated right next Riddle.

Deciding to ignore her and hoping she would do that same to him, Gavin leaned back in the seat, Sobek curled up in his lap, purring madly. "Don't know why you're so content," he said to the at as he stroked his soft fur. "It's too loud; too many people in here."

"Maybe she's so deprived of company other than yourself, that she likes being crowded.." Marcella suggested, after shoving her trunk under the seat. She sat back down and preferred to look in the opposite direction to where he was sat. She stared up at the tall vast building ahead, several few miles away, inland. Tightly wrapping her cloak around ehrself, for the cold had begun to settle in. Shivering lightly, she offered, "If you feel so crowded, Ormand, get out and walk to the castle instead. I'm sure someone as tough as yourself can take a little wind." She knew she shouldn't have started another argument, but she couldn't help but scoff at his ridiculous ways.

Why was she talking to him? Why couldn't she just ignore him? Gavin smirked, quite proud of himself for not having started the argument but, quite willing, nonetheless, to participate now that it had begun. "I'd much rather toss some people out of here and make more room in here," he said. Then, without thinking, he plunged ahead and asked the burning question on his mind, "Are the rumours true?"

Crystal feeling as if the trip was longer then ever, was happy to see the ship had docked and hurried over to the carriages that awaited the eager and not so eager students. She randomly choose one, not wanting to converse with anyone else until they reached Durmstrang. She slowly watched Durmstrang come in closer view, but it was still a ways off, she just sat leaning her head on her hand, actually feeling somewhat weary.

Sighing, belatedly, she replied, "I would suggest you toss yourself, but I have no doubt that you already do that." She narrowed her eyes as she heard his question and, well awar of the many people who had started listening around them, the prescence of other people, she quickly retorted, "I have no idea what you're on about." Determined to shut him up, she thrust her face away from his sight, her face increasing in colour. She felt completely humiliated, trapped. He had no right to ask her anything about her life in any circumstance, let alone in front of carriage full of students she barely knew.

Gavin smiled in triumph as he caught the color rise in Riddle's face and she turned away from him. He turned in the opposite direction, staring out the window as he absently stroked Sobek who seemed to be getting restless. Looking down, Gavin scowled as the cat got up and settled himself in Riddle's lap. "Traitorous beast," he muttered as he continued staring out the window.

She looked down to see that the cat had pounced on her lap. It cheered her up a little and she stroked her gently, her eyes not leaving the confines of staring out of the window. Right now, she did not want another argument with him.

He continued staring out the window, wondering why the castle refused to get any closer. After a mere twenty minutes which seemed more like several hours, they had finally arrived back at Durmstrang Academy. Gavin turned back to face Riddle who was quietly stroking a very contented Sobek. He frowned and called the cat back to him. Though he was reluctant to leave and rubbed his head against Marcella a few times, Sobek jumped over to Gavin and settled himself on his shoulders. Without a word to Riddle, Gavin strode off toward the castle.
