"Oh, good Merlin!" Lexi groaned, sliding off the couch and seating herself on the floor. This was absurd. she should have expected it of Evan, really. He didn't take criticism too well, she'd noticed for so long.

She just kind of hoped he would this one time.

"You're going to make me throw up and it's going to be on you," she said, glaring at Evan.

Evan stood up and still swatted his dark hair, wondering if he had managed to get it all off. Lexi was being such a girl. A mean one at that. Casting a pleading look at Quinn, hoping for salvation he prodded him trying to seem inconspicuous but failing.

Quinn chose to ignore Evan's pleading and prodding. He nodded feverishly, agreeing with Lexi's comments, thoughts and future actions. "Do it. Do it." Okay, so perhaps he was being childish but it was about time he got some revenge. He resisted the urge to cackle.

Lexi found herself laughing at Quinn's urging, rolling over onto her back and closing her eyes for a moment. Really now. Evan was so childish. Sometimes, she just couldn't stand it. Rather, often times she disliked it.

"Here's a short lesson, for you. Take a small bite. Chew slowly. Swallow. Repeat." She rolled over onto her stomach and sent a glare at Evan.

Evan pouted and leaned against the sofa, bum on the floor. This was frustrating. When had Lexi become so annoying. Ah, she was so much easier to stand when she was standing on her two legs. Maybe Quinn had put something in the grilled cheese. Casting a suspicious glare at his friend, Evan hissed.

"Fix this. Now!"

Quinn raised his brows in confusion. What was going through Evan's confused little head now? Probably had concocted another conspiracy theory of his. Rubbing the back of his neck and trying to nudge a bit of bread from behind his tooth he surveyed Alexis closely. His gray eyes scanned her flat stomach and he looked away quickly, his ears growing hot once more.

"Play nice you two," he said in a fatherly tone. There. He had fixed it. Sort of.

"I am being nice!" Lexi proclaimed indignantly. And, she was... kind of. She wrinkled her nose in disgrace. "Besides, he's the one who eats like a maniac. Acts like he's never going to eat again. Think about the children in Ethiopia! They never get to eat! Can't you be calm about it and take a moment to enjoy it, seeing as they never can?"

Where that came from, Lexi had no idea. She folded her arms over her stomach and glared for a moment, before sneaking an arm down to grab a handful of chips and shove them into her mouth.

Both young men stared at Alexis like she had just slapped them with a very wet and very stinky pair of underwear. Starving children? Ethiopia? Evan didn't even know where Ethiopia was. Quinn did but he wasn't sharing. They both glanced at each other and reached for their chips.

"No," remarked Quinn and Evan in unison only to chuck the salted chips at Lexi.

"There," continued Evan. "Be calm. Take that moment and enjoy it.

"What are you guys doing?" Lexi cried, jumping up, her towel falling behind. "Do not throw food! We do not throw food!" Now she did sound like her mother, but really. She wasn't in the mood for a food fight.

"Honestly. I could have stayed at my hotel if I wanted a food fight. Stephen is always up for that."

Evan had the paper plate on his hand and was going to chuck it at Lexis' face when she mentioned Stephen. "STEPHEN WHO?!"

Quinn had found shelter underneath the couch. Sort of. His bottom half was sticking out and Evan took the opportunity to relieve his distress, anger BUT NOT JEALOUSY--on Quinn's bum by repeatedly stomping him, green and brown eye on Alexis, head nearly on fire.

"What are you doing?" Lexi cried, leaping at Evan and knocking him down. "You're going to hurt Quinn, you fool! Stop jumping round on him! You want us to jump on you?"

She groaned and tackled him to the ground. "Fool. Stephen is my step-brother. What is your deal? Jealous of my step-brother?" She arched a brow into the air as she stared down at him.

"Honestly. Really!"

Quinn was going to reach for Evan's ankle and rip it right off but apparently Lexi felt like being some kind muggle super hero and tackled poor Evan. The guy needed to eat more anyways.

Evan fell without a single word of complaint and he wondered if he should be enjoying this moment. Because he was. A lot. He grinned foolishly at Alexis and nodded.

Well, he was being honest, also, he really wasn't sure what Lexi had asked him. He understood "Jealous of my bubble?" But Evan didn't see any bubble and his aunts had always told him to smile and nod when in doubt.

Quinn backed out of the sofa and frowned at Lexi. Man, she was being weird. Perhaps the cheese affected her brain. He patted her knee seeing as he was still kneeling on the floor. "That's alright, Lexi. I'm only skinny on the outside." Whatever that meant.

Lexi's brow arched higher at Evan's grin and she rolled off him, wondering to herself if he even heard what she'd said.

"That's not the point," she said, sitting up and drawing her knees to her chest. "Jumping on people is dangerous. And he's clearly a maniac. He and Stephen would get along well," she said, turning to glance at Evan. "You both act his age. Ten."

Evan blushed. He wasn't a maniac and he didn't usually act like he was ten. He just got caught up in the moment and Lexi was just being moody that's all. "Well, you act like you're 50 already. So there. Maybe you should act your age too."

Quinn stared at Evan and blinked. So, when had he turned to insulting the supposed love of his life and mother of his future babies?

“Better to act like I’m fifty than ten,” Lexi said, narrowing her eyes. “Least ways, I can handle life on my own. Nothing wrong with being mature and all that, now is there? Do you see me jumping around like a monkey on people when I’m upset? No, I don’t. You shouldn’t either. It’s mean and it could hurt people.”

She made a harrumph noise and turned back to her sandwich, unfolding herself to eat it. Really. Why did he have to be so… mean?

"Only problem you'll have is that you'll be acting like you're deceased by the time you hit 30," he mumbled and stood up, storming off towards the bathroom.

Quinn sighed and propped his elbows on the couch and nodded his head gravely at Alexis. "Now you've done it," he said warningly. "He's probably off trying to flush himself down the toilet again."

Indeed. The toilet flushed in the distance.

"Told ya."

"Again?" asked Lexi, shocked. "He tries to flush himself? Whyyy? Who in their right mind would try to flush themselves?" She shook her head, mildly amused, mostly irritated. This meant she was going to have to apologize to him. She wrinkled her nose. Ohhh how Lexi hated apologizing.

"Apologize to Mona, Alexis."
"But Muuummy! She started it!"
"You had no reason to push her into the mud. Apologize."
"But Mona said something mean! About me kissing all the boys!"
"Alexis, apologize!"

Argh.

She pushed herself off the floor and trudged heavily towards the bathroom, glancing once over shoulders at Quinn before rapping on the door.

Evan pulled his head out of the swirling water inside the bowl briefly to glare at the door. "It's occupied!"

Quinn snorted and shook his head. This was going to be amusing. "What are you doing?" He asked Lexi, laughing slightly. Really, what did she think she was going to do?

"Oh, for Merlin's sake," Lexi groaned, forcing open the door. He'd forgotten to lock it, she was amused to find. She walked into the bathroom and slid up onto the sink, her arms crossed over her nearly naked body.

"That water is nasty, y'know. Worse than the lake and all. Poo goes into that toilet. And now you're all sopping." Her voice was rather calm. It was a strain for her to make her voice so nice and soft when what she really wanted to do was grab him by the shoulders and shake him.

Evan looked up. Hadn't he locked the door? Stupid lock! He tried pushing her out but she had managed to squirm her way in and there he was, kneeling before the toilet, hair dripping wet. "My aunt once told me that the toilet has less germs than one's mouth does."

Quinn could see a strip of each of his friends from the slit of the door and the wall. He craned his neck trying to see more and all he could hear were muted voices. The young man sighed, hoping Evan didn't decide to flush Lexi down the toilet instead.

"You know that when you flush the toilet, the bacteria on your poo floats up and around your bathroom, settling on everything? Even your toothbrush. Even the bowl of your toilet." Lexi looked at him pointedly, secretly amused by his dripping hair.

"Sides. I think you might be too big to flush down the toilet. What good is it doing you, anyway, hmm?"

She sounded like her father when he'd try to console her after Mona and her friends would say cruel things to her. Geez.

"If you're trying to gross me out it's not going to work," he said flatly and lifted the toilet's seat again. "Quinn's tried it before." And with this he shoved his head inside the toilet once more and flushed.

Groaning, Lexi slid off the sink and grabbed onto Evan's neck, forcing his head up.

"Now, really. What's the point of this? Flushing your head down the toilet? Self-delivered swirlies. Really, why for?"

Evan once more from the deeps of the toilet water to glare at Alexis. "I was trying to get away from you," he retorted and decided maybe he'd just shove her head in this time around.

Wincing, Lexi bit her lip. She'd gone to far, she realized, without even noticing. She was awful. She hated when the boy got so upset. He just got on her nerves! If he'd just calm down sometimes, she wouldn't mind him so much. Maybe.

"Oh," she finally said, staring at the tile floor. "Well..." She watched her toes wiggle as she tried to find something to say. Blowing out a puff of air, her hair flipped out for a moment. "I... well." How to cheer him up? He switched gears so easily. "You want ice cream? Ice cream is fun. We have some back at my family's place. At the resort. Ice cream sundaes. You can meet Stephen."

Evan stared at her incredulously. How did she do it? Did she have some kind of disease? Behaving one way and then the other? It made his head spin. Evan wasn't built for this kind of thinking and he only felt himself getting nauseous from nerves and frustration. "I think I'm going to puke. You might want to get out."

Lexi was a smart girl. A very smart girl. Yet these words did not properly register in her mind. Puke? Why was he going to throw up? Did she look gross, suddenly? Did he realize that his liking her was foolish and only made him look like a spazz?

"You're... what?"
