Several hours later, Day emerged from the library and headed back to the Great Hall for dinner. She was starving; probably because she was still recovering from her own ordeal. She wondered if Mattie was okay.

Snape pulled the sheets up over Miss Thompson and sat back in his chair while she slept. He watched her for a while to be sure she was untroubled by dreams before settling into his book once more. She would be free to leave the Hospital Wing tomorrow morning.

Harry looked over at Wyn ,grateful that she broke the uncomfortable silence..."I'm not so sure I did anything that would make you not trust me, but if I did...." then Harry thought of a more polite way of expressing his thanks for Wyn's company than before in the HW with Day, "uh Wyn, thanks for letting me go with you to see Mattie, Jay said she was really scared, he wanted to come but I don't think Snape would allow alot of people to crowd her....do you think what Snape is doing will help her and get her out of there sooner?"

"PROFESSOR Snape," Wyn emphasized, "is very good at what he does. And he probably has some experience with this sort of thing, seeing as how he..." She stopped. She didn't want to tell Harry that Snape was a Death Eater. She knew his history with the man.

"How did Jay..." Wyn kicked herself for letting Harry draw her into the trap. "How did he know what Mattie was feeling?" Wyn felt very exposed just talking about him.

Harry leaned a bit and looked at Wyn over his round glasses similar to how Dumbledore does, " Wyn I knw that Professor Snape is a DE, you don't have to try and hide it from me, and I know that he's some sort of....." now it was Harry's turn to hesitate in telling Wyn about Snape's role with the Order, "anyway, um well Jay sees things....he has this knack..or gift or something about getting visions when someone is in trouble, pain or fear, that's how we knew what happend to Mattie the night she was taken and he saw her up here with the Professor realy scared so that's why I asked to come up and see how she was doing," Harry's voiced trailed off a bit as he added..."he's seen some other things as well..."

Wyn squirmed slightly. Harry knew that Snape was a DE and didn't mind? How would he know anyway? And what was he hiding? Some sort of what... Wyn's eyes widened slightly at the implication. Maybe there was more to Snape than she thought... she'd have to talk it over with Mattie. It wasn't safe to discuss with Day, who's mind would be raked over the next time she saw the Dark Lord.

Thinking of Jay and his 'visions,' Wyn was a bit surprised. She shouldn't be... she didn't know that much about Jay. Suddenly, Wyn felt very very ill. She stopped and leaned against the wall. "Why did you tell me that, Potter?" she wanted to make her voice acid and mean, but it came out as a pathetic squeak. "I go to all this effort to keep Jay safe from Voldemort by staying away, and you ruin it!" She took a shuddery breath and tried not to cry. Jay was a seer? Voldemort would definitely want to know that... and use it.

Wyn was as shocked by her use of the Dark Lord's name, out loud and in her thoughts, as she was about her sudden honesty with Harry.

Harry reached out to Wyn as she leaned against the wall, "Wyn you okay, what is it?" he put his arm on her shoulder not sure if she was going to fall or not, "what's wrong with telling you about Jay, I thought you might want to know more about him, he talks about you all the time

Wyn tried feebly to shake Harry's hand off of her shoulder. "I don't WANT him to talk about me or think about me or come anywhere near me," she said fiercely. "He needs to stay away from me if he knows what's good for him. Don't you know Voldemort will do whatever he needs to in order to get what he wants? That he'll use whoever he can to get to the people he wants?" Harry still looked at her with concern and confusion written all over his face.

"Let me spell it out for you, Potter," she spit out his name. She wasn't mad at him, but she was mad at her own weakness. "I went to Voldemort to get Mattie back and he ordered me to get information from Jay. Anything I could get that would help him, but especially anything I can get that would destroy you. Do you really think I can just tell him I don't know anything and walk away?" Wyn slid to the floor and put her head on her knees.

Day slowly made her way back to the Great Hall, her arms full of books for her muggle studies which she had checked out of the library. She was too hungry to drop them back off in the dorm. As she walked by a particularly dark corridor, she looked up and saw Jay and Ron making their way toward her. Day bowed her head and hoped they'd just walk past her; she didn't particularly feel like meeting up with the two of them with her arms full of books, unable to properly draw her wand.

Jay and Ron were headed towards the HW, it had been too long since Harry and Wyn left so they wanted to check on him, "hey Ron, look who it is," he said pointing to Day

"Yea" responded Ron, "we need to talk to her" and the two changed their path to intercept the Slytherin who seemed to be trying to go by un noticed, "careful Jay let's not make this too confrontational, remember she's one of them now, Ron cautioned

Jay making sure that Day could see both his hands motioned to her, "uh Day, we'd like have a word with you

Harry slid to the ground with Wyn, he couldn't believe she had said Voldemort's name so easily, most Slytherins don't like to use anything other than 'Lord Voldemort', "Wyn, why would he care about Jay, Jay's no threat to anyone....his family's not really in support of either side as far as I know, I mean yea he's a Gryff. but his whole family was, and besides, I don't think Jay would want to know that you have to avoid him....I mean, I think he really has a crush on you.....

Day looked up at Jay and saw his deliberate attempt to she her he was unarmed. She smirked at him, "Yeah, I see you don't have your wand in your hand, Gryff. But, what's to keep you from drawing down on me once we've left the relative "saftey" of the corridor."

But, she followed where they were leading anyway. It's not like she really had a choice with the two of them there and there really wasn't anything stopping them from hexing her right here in the hall anyway. Day knew she's get blamed for anything that happened anyway. "Fine," she said and they had retreated to a small room off the corridor.

"What do you want?" she asked, placing her books down, crossing her arms, and sneering at the two Gryffindor boys.

Wyn rested her head on her knees. She didn't want to hear about Jay's crush, because that made it even harder to deal with. If he felt the way she felt sometimes...

"Why would Voldemort want to know about Jay?" she repeated, wondering if Harry really couldn't see. "Jay is friends with you, who is basically Voldemort's sworn enemy. He has access to anything you have access to, not to mention having direct access to you yourself."

Wyn shook her head and looked away from Harry. "I should never have included Jay in any part of the discussion with him." She sighed. "But maybe he would have known anyway. He knows everything."

Jay and Ron sat down in the small room across from Day, "well I....I mean we were wondering why you had to hex Harry?"

Ron piped in, "yea we no you don't like him, but ..."

"Ron!," Jay cut him off nottrying to raise the anxiety in the room, "we just think it would have been a better idea to have told him that you were going without him," Jay thought for a moment, "he really did have his revenge all planned, but as mad as he was heprobably would have done something stupid and we'd be rescuing him now as well.....we just want to know that we're all keeping an eye on you," and with that they both stood up and backed their way to the door and headed out

Day laughed as Jay and Ron backed their way out of the room. "You two are so intimidating. I'm just quaking in my boots," she continued to laugh, but the laughter never reached her eyes, which remained as cold and hard as ever.

Who did they think they were taking her aside and threatening her? What were they going to do?

Wyn's words brought back memories of his encounter with Voldemort, "Wyn, you can't help what you think, or you feel, yes he can tell what your thinking, he used me to get to Sirius," Harry felt sorry for her, she didn't have any reason to be part of this, but now it seemed that he was going to try and use her to get at Harry, "it's different now though, Wyn, because I'm aware of what's going on, I know things that even he doesn't, I'm not afraid of him as I once was, I've done a lot of growing up in the past few years, you don't have to feel guilty about trying to protect me or Jay, we're adults now and we know what's going on, we help each other and look out for each other but we can't run around scared...." Hary hesitated before he went further.....he turned to face her eye to eye .."and Wyn, I.....uh I mean, we will help you too if you need it......you just let us help and we will.....

Wyn shook her head. "I know that you and Jay are big boys now, Harry. But I can do my part to be sure that Voldemort doesn't have access to the people I love."

Wyn climbed to her feet. She was still pale and shaky, but she couldn't sit around with Harry all day. She already was kicking herself for sharing so much. "Don't flatter yourself, Harry. I'm a Slytherin. I don't need help from anyone. I can handle this, and I won't let you or your friends get hurt. But Jay... and you need to stay away from me."

Harry listened to Wyn's warning, "well I'll be around even if you don't want me to be, and as for Jay.....well he'll have to make his own decision about it, but if I know him, I don't think you'll be able to get rid of him very easily...he's had a tough time with girls in the past and I've never heard him talk about one like the way he talks about you......anyway, if you're okay, I'm going to go find those other two, make sure they haven't got in to any trouble"...he thought to himself and then said as he was leaving, "they've both probably been hexed by Day by now....he he, see ya around," and he waved and headed back towards the Great Hall...

Day woke up the next morning and felt great. The soreness was gone and her head felt perfectly clear. She walked over to Wyn and shook her awake. "Come on, Wyn. We can go get Mattie from the Hospital Wing."

The two girls arrived at the infirmary a few minutes later, eager to see how Mattie was doing. They couldn't wait to take Mattie down for a real breakfast down in teh Great Hall. Day shifted impatiently, as she waited for Madam Pomfrey to lead Mattie out from her isolation room.

*Mattie woke up to the sound of Madam Pomfrey and Snape talking in whispers. Snape was reassuring Madam Pomfrey that Mattie was fine too go, and Madam Pomfrey was harassing him, that she should stay longer. Mattie hopped up, and hugged Madam Pomfrey, and thanked her ever so kindly for healing her, reassuring her that she was dream-free all night. This seemed to work, because Madam Pomfrey told her to go and take a bath, and take one more dose of Pepper-up, then she could go. Mattie hugged her again, then gave Professor an awkward hug, and thanked him again.

She did as she was told, took a quick bath, drank up the Pepper-up a little too fast, and basically ran out of the little room, ears pouring steam.

She didn't even give Day and Wyn time to react. She jumped right on them and pulled them both into a great big hug.*

Wyn was pulled into a big hug right outside the hospital wing doors. She oomphed and held onto Mattie as Day was pulled into the hug too.

"Mattie... I like breathing, please," she gasped out. Mattie let go, and Wyn smiled at her. "I'm glad you're better. Are you hungry? We haven't had breakfast yet." The three girls headed to the Great Hall.

"Mattie..." Wyn tried to sound casual. "When you get a chance, I'd like to speak with you."

Day smiled as Mattie hugged her and then the three of them made off for the Great Hall. They sat down at the end of the table, like old times. Day made sure to sit with her back to the Gryffindor table, Wyn sitting next to her and Mattie across from them. They all dug hungrilly into their pancakes. "So, Mattie, how was your weekend with Professor Snape?" she asked, in between bites.

Harry got up and threw his socks at Ron and Jay to wake them, "hey you two get up....going to sleep all day....and besides....Jay comehere I need to tell you something" he motioned to both of them to come over to his bed

"what," said Jay as he threw Harry's socks back at him

"well I meant to tell you, I had an interesting converation with Wyn yesterday in the hall after seeing Mattie,

"really, what happened, you said you wouldn't tell her about me"

"well first of all I lied, we did talk about you.....but not like that, I just said that you liked her," Harry lied again, "and she said that she would have to avoid you becasue Voldemort might try and use her to get secrets about you and me...."

Jay looked at Harry in disbelief, "you told her I liked her, you idiot , why did you do that?"

"well....cause you do"

Jay opened his mouth and then closed it then opened it up again.."well sowhat if I do...you didn't have to tell her.............what'd she say?" he asked hesitantly

"well I told you, she said that she couldn't have anything to do with you for fear of Voldemort....."

"I can handle him," Jay responded and Ron nodded his agreement

"yea that's what I said, but she still said we need to stay away from her...."

"well I guess I'll just have to take my chances....." come on let's get dressed and go eat

*Mattie wanted to skip down the halls. She felt so good, better than she had in a long time. At entering the Great Hall for the first time since she had been back, she received a few strange looks, a few murmurs. She rolled her eyes and took her usual seat at the table. *

"You'd think these people had never seen me before." Mattie giggled and dug into her food. She looked a little strangely at Day's question, then replied.

"How was my weekend? It was a total load of crap, to be quite frank with you. There's nothing like reliving your worst memories again. I swear, if I ever see, hear, or even smell that beastly woman Lestrange again, I'll not even hesitate to curse her to Timbuktu. Her laughing in my head all weekend. I hate her more than I do him. "

*Then Mattie stopped her conversation. Snape's words of being careful who she shared her feelings with came back. She looked a little awkward, here Mattie was blabbing off to Day, the one person she didn't need to be blabbing to. She changed the conversation quickly.*

"I can't believe Harry got to see me like that. How embarassing is that?"

*Mattie sighed and took another huge bite*

Wyn piled her own plate and kept her eyes on it. "It was fine, Mattie. You shouldn't be embarassed. He was the one who organized the whole visit, plus when I couldn't hold onto you, he voluntarily held you for a while. Even if it had been embarassing, which it wasn't, he totally would have brought it on himself."
