The thing about Alice was -- even though she was a good friend to Eliza -- she wasn't at all spared from her -- Slytherin tendencies shall we say? The girls are friends it's true -- but a Slytherin is a Slytherin -- no matter who they are friends with.

For whatever reason, Damien floated through her mind again.

Eliza gasped as she fell suddenly from the top of the classroom, but Alice set her gently down to the ground again. "Thanks --" she said adjusting her robes. "And yes lets have another go --"

She got into her stance again -- this time drowning out all background noise behind her. Ignoring the fact that Damien Kintyre had been on her mind ever since she spoke with him. Ignoring the way Rosalie staked a claim on him. Ignoring the sheer ruddness of both of them.

Aguamenti! and a jet of water shot out of her wand directly at Alice.

Sam caught his wand. True he wasnt really trying but now he would. He didnt want to seem weak infront of Xan now did he? He concentrated hard. Xan was likely to not use another disarm so Sam would have to protect himself. Alarte Ascendare he thought hard. He waited for somethigng to hit him. Nothing did. He smiled. Must have worked. Searching his mind he didnt want to hurt Xan so he picked the next best thing. Everte Statum thought hard. It would surely knock her off her feet.

Alice stared at her, but got a bit distracted. she didnt see the water coming in time. Finite. She pointed her wand at alice and sent a double spells at her.Tarantallegra. Hopefully it would distract her. If it didnt hit then she could hit her with another spell. PETRIFICUS TOTALUS!!

Eliza reacted in enough time to block the the first curse that Alice shot her way, but wasn't quick enough for the second one. She fell to the ground with a thud and stared helplessly at the cieling, unable to move.

Eliza didn't give Alice a smile as she made her little speech. She knew it was only advice, and there wasn't supposed to be anything really harsh and cruel about her words. Alice did have a good point. If something were to happen that put Eliza in danger she wouldn't be able to take out a book and figure out how to get out of danger.

She nodded her head in understandment of her friend's words, and then followed Alice towards the back of the classroom.

Eliza said her thanks to Alice as she pulled a chair out for her. She sunk into it greatfully and watched Jason and Evan practice with their spells. She couldn't help but giggle at them.

I was reading something once -- and an old Headmaster here -- a long long time ago -- once said that it's our choices that define who we are. And it's true. You know if that person who comes from the not so great background wants to do something as noble as being an Auror I think it's great! Especially if the person is really devoted to it."

She looked at Alice with a sheepish smile. "You probably didn't need that detailed of an answer did you?"

I think your ego might be a bit to big for your words professor." she said winking back at him as she then moved from his side to the front of the class. " alright students. If any of you have questions for me i will be in my office. Your homework for this lesson is to tell me five reason why non verbal spells would be useful. Also an example of using non verbal spells. He turned around to face her with a mischevious grin and walked right up to her, his body mere centimeters from hers as she continued to gather her papers.

He gently took the papers from her hands, put them on her desk and tilted her head up to look at him. "Hello --" he said in a low whisper.

Krissandra actually shivered as he talked about what things he was going to do to the poor children. She was very glad she was done with that part of her life. she was looking around for somethign when the next thing she knew the papers in her hands where gone and she was facing him. She gave him a small smile as she then told him. " --But i need to get these done." she said to him as she pulled away from him. She gave him a small kiss." Your so good to me." she told him as she then moved to stack more papers. Their were a lot of papers on her desk. she really should take a break, but she was going to have to be dragged away from them.

Damien sighed, and stood up. He really didn't do all that much that lesson, but then, he didn't really care either. He nodded at James as he grabbed his bag, and walked out.

After coming back from the Slytherin common room, he came to the grounds, just by the lake. He sat down underneath a tree, and yawned. Maybe he could sleep...

Mikaeela felt her boyfriend's light kiss on her cheek and looked up into his eyes smiling "Of coure, I'm going to be your partner, love." She gave Eliza a wink and a small smirk as she heard her comment. Taking a ahold of her boyfriends hands she said "Hun, you know i'm good with a wand. I could send you across the room if i wanted too, but i love you too much, so i am not going to do it. I don't want you to get hurt." Mikaeela's gaze wandered around seeing that Eliza partnered up with Alice and that Sam got Xan. Sam and Xan that was a good match.

Mikaeela was about to ask her boyfriend if they should start practising the non verbal spell when Professor Ames dismissed the class and assigned homework. She thought it was a bit weird since it hadn't gone more than 40 minutes of the lesson, but she wasn't going to protest. Placing her books in a pile she stuffed them into her backpack saying "Cole, hun. Class is over. Let's get out of here. I want to leave my books in the common room before we go down to the lake."

Sophia arrived to Hogwarts having missed most of the first days classes. One of the professors had met her at the entrance to tell her that it was better if she didn't go to Dada at all. Losing housepoints on the first day wasn't good. After her mothers death over the summer it had been a big debate if Sophia should go back for her last year at Hogwarts. Sophia left her stuff in the hufflepuff common room before going down to the grounds.

The grounds had always been her favorite place at Hogwarts ever since her first year. Walking down the path she saw a boy slumped down under a tree. It looked as if he was sleeping. Sophia didn't plan on waking him up to have someone to talk too. She wasn't that desperate and besides he looked to be a Slytherin and they had never been very nice to her. Sophia passed the boy and sat down under another tree taking up a thick novel to read.

Eliza had split with Alice when they had to go to their respective Common Rooms to drop off their belongings. Everyone was going down to the lake so she quickly disposed of her things in her dormitory of the Ravenclaw Common Room and dashed through the castle down to the grounds.

She loved being outside. The last hint of summer was still in the air, so there was no need for her to have her heavy robes on.

She walked rather casually around the lake, not yet seeing anyone to start off a conversation with and weaving in and out the giant oak trees. Her mind suddenly floated back to Damien and his -- rudeness and Eliza wished herself to be more like Alice in attitude. A bit more witty and able to handle her own. If she were like that perhaps Damien wouldn't be bothering her so much --

Their were a lot of papers on her desk. she really should take a break, but she was going to have to be dragged away from them.

Braeden furrowed his brow as she kept fumbling with her papers. Sometimes he felt like a child standing with her -- he always wanted to have fun and she was usually the most focussed on her work. A very admirable quality, especially when you're a teacher and the Headmistress of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Still -- the poor girl had to have a bit of fun.

He reached out again, and gently pulled the papers from her hands and this time stepped between her and her desk. He tilted her chin up to him again with one hand. "Krissandra --" he said in a low voice, and used the fingers of his other hand to trace her cheek and down her neck. "There's something to be said for taking a break. How often do we get a chance during the day to just spend a little time together?"

He bent down and kissed the side of her neck a few times. "Please?" he said in his low whisper.

I wasn't supposed to have come back to my final year if it hadn't been for grandma." Sophia drew up her legs under her and looked down at the ground.. She wanted to be bright and happy as Eliza but at the moment it was hard.

"I'll see you in the grounds" Xan muttered to Sam, before heading to the Ravenclaw common room. She left her stuff beside her bed and head to the grounds.

"Eliza!" She said as she spotted her friend, down at the lake chatting with..Is that Sophia?. "Sophia, Where have you been!" She said before taking sit beside the two of them.
"You know I'm actually glad that the class is over you know..". And she indeed was. The last thing she wanted was to hurt her boyfriend in front of everyone.

Eliza turned and saw Xan heading towards them. Her smile was so contagious and she laughed lightly as she spoke about class. "I think Sam was concentrating on the wrong thing," she said with a giggle. "Instead of concentrating on the spells he was concentrating on you," she added with a wink.

He smiled into her neck as he kissed it once more. "That's my girl --" he whispered.

He reached for her arms, still kissing a trail down her neck and brought them up around his own neck to give her a bit of support. He reached behind her and gently rested his hands on the small of her back. He started kissing slowly up her neck -- reaching her chin -- the corner of her mouth -- and then gently, put passionately touched his lips to hers.

Glancing over at Eliza she said "Yes, mum died a few weeks ago. In St Munogs.. The healers couldn't cure her disease. They didn't know what it was. Its been horrible." As Eliza put a gentle arm around her she said "Thanks for you support. I'm glad that someone appreciates my presence."Thinking over her friends last words Sophia said "Hmm..You could give me a lot of hugs and be a good listener. I think i am going to need that.. Also gossip to cheer me up would be nice."

"Of course we appreciate your presence," Eliza said to Sophia. "Life at Hogwarts would not be the same if you weren't here. You're are loyal, loving, Hufflepuff, remember?" she added with a silly grin in an attempt to get her to smile.

Eliza's expression brightened at hearing what she could do for Sophia. "Don't joke around with me," she said with a bit of light laughter. "I will hug you every chance I get if you give me the opportunity." And at that exact moment, her arms flew around Sophia in a frinedly embrace.

"Gossip -- Hmm --" she thought about this and then looked over to Xan. "Shall we tell her about our lovely encounter with Rosalie and -- Damein?" she said his name with a hint of animosity and tension and her eyes suddenly darted around the grounds, to check for any sign of them being here. No doubt if they weren't then they would be soon.

Xan laughed as she put her hair to the back, "It wouldn't be the first time isn't it?". She stop laughing a little and then added, "But I want him to concentrate in his education...He's pretty lazy and reckless you know!" She said to both her friends, trying hard not to sound like a mother lecturing her child.

"Well, I'm glad you are here" she said with a little smile, "I was starting to worry a little". She gave her a one hand hug before taking out three sugar quills of her bags and giving one to both of them.
"DADA?, not eventful at all" She said distractedly to her, "Unless you want to count that Murdoch and Ames, didn't seem to have any kind of interaction over the summer, since he couldn't keep her hands of from her", Although she felt that setting an arm around his wife during class was a little innappropiate, she couldn't help but to think that it was quite funny.

"YOUR MUM WHAT?!" Xan asked schocked, a little more loud than she woul've wanted. "I am--I am so sorry Sophia" she said gently and feeling a little embarrased for her initial reaction. "Just let me know, If--Well, you know" She said quietly, hoping that Sophia was aware that she could count on her no matter what.
Xan wasn't the kind of girl that would hug someone out of nowhere, but it was definitely one of those cases, so you move closer to her friend and gave her a very gently hug. She was very aware of what it was like to lose a parent.

Xan's mood lightened a little when she heard Sophia asking about gossip. "Ha!, well here's a good one" she said giving Eliza a funny look. "Eliza likes Damien" she said simply. "And don't deny it, I know you", she said looking back at her.
