Wendi had gotten into the carriage with Joey and Charlie and smiled. "Thanks Joey, and hello Charlie." Wendi smiled sweetly and looked around. Charlie was a rather handsome 6th year that Wendi had watched grow every year, this year he looked...different. Summer does do alot for someone, she was an example herself.

Wendi tried not to laugh when Joey fell in the mud, but she also felt sorry for her. "Poor girl." Shaking her head to noticed her brother, "Oh look if it isn't my kid brother." Grinning she watched as he sat down.

Lex smiled at his comment. In the past she hadn't wanted to have much to do with MacNair, but somehow he had change over the summer. He seemed more handsome, more mature, or maybe it was just Lex was getting tired of waiting for Rusty to notice her. He still saw her as nothing more than Jake's baby sister. Either way it was nice to have someone to talk to on the carriage ride to Hogwarts. Andie had decided to go on ahead without her, and she didn't want to have to sit alone with the second years. She graciously took her hand and got into the carriage. "Your right. It's time we bury the old Slytherin/Gryffindor feud. There's no reason why members of those houses can't be civil to each other. After all my mother was in Slytherin House and my dad was in Gryffindor, and they managed to be friends at Hogwarts." Lex looks out the windows and sees the gates of Hogwarts getting closer and closer. She is so looking forward to this year. She couldn't understand why MacNair was being nice to her, but for some reason, she was enjoying it.

Brennan gets back into the carriage and sits down. His robes are still covered in mud. "I don't understand Joey Potter. All I did was try and help her, and she repays me by covering me in mud. I'll just have to change my robes when we get to Hogwarts."

Orion stiffened a bit. Potter was all about trying to make him feel as if he were a git. He knew he was an arrogant prat sometimes, but he wasn't the ultimate evil as she so often assumed. "I only just learned her last name, and although I'm sure it is of some great importance to some people, those days are gone. To me, Potter, a person's last name doesn't define them." It was a lie of sorts. Being a Malfoy was what made him who he was, but he didn't obsess over the names of his friends. His father might have strong feelings about blood purity, but Orion was bored by that. It wasn't worth the effort.

Rusty took back the parchment, listening to Andi speak about her father and his using it for mischief, "well I don't know about using it for that but it has come in useful for me a few times....."
He took out his wand and touched the parchment saying, "I solemnly swear that I'm up to no good." Again, nothing happened at first but then the script started writing "Messrs. Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs Purveyors of Aids to Maigical Mischief-Makers are proud to present The Marauders Map." Rusty opened the parchment as the lacy spiderweb-like lines began appearing all over the map. Small dots began appearing as well, each with a tiny little name next to it as it moved.
Rusty pointed towards a position just moving onto the map. It looked like a long procession of names and dots. He turned the map towards her and used his wand to point to two dots moving together....A. Winston and R. Potter

"Exactly. There's no reason why a Slytheirn like me can't spend some time with a Gryffindor like you without getting into an argument. We're just two Hogwarts students, enjoying each other's company," he said, smirking to himself as he casually stretched his arms across the back of the bench.

Joey stopped once again to look at him, her face completely nonbelieving the words coming out of his mouth. "Heh.. yeah right, Malfoy. So, you're telling me, I'm just another girl to you, and not "Potter" as you so often refer to me as? You know, you're kind of full of it. I can't believe I just heard a Malfoy say that last names didn't matter" she said throwing her hands up as if that was the most remarkable she'd ever heard ,"..But I do have to give you one thing. Your choice in girls doesn't really reflect a choice in bloods. You'll basically put your hands on any girl that will let you," Joey said off handedly. Joey sighed and looked up the path...it was going to be a very long walk.

Jake and Beth had finished up with the Headmaster quickly since there wasn't much to report about the uneventful trip on the Express. "So, Beth, I'll see you around huh," Jake said to his counterpart and he hurried down towards the front doors, he wanted to be there as the new students, and his friends arrived for the sorting and the welcoming feast.

'No doubt,' she replied as Jake hurried off, one eyebrow raised at his hurry. She wandered towards the great hall, taking her time and thinking over the meeting with Dumbledore. There really was not much more to this Head girl bit than there was to being a prefect. She nodded quickly to several of the portraits as she passed, speeding her pace slightly as one prepared to speak. Coming into the entrance way, she saw the students begin to arrive. She watched them for a moment, enjoying their boisterousness, before making her way into the Great Hall.

Andi traced the line of students making their way to the castle, seeking out the names of her friends. "Brennan. Wendi. Charlie. I can't find Joey or... Oh, there's Lex." Andi sat up straight and blinked at the map. "Is this right? It says she's with MacNair. Does this thing make mistakes?" She shuddered in her seat as the carriage drew to an abrupt stop. "We're here."

"If you think there are boys out there who don't appreciate the company and affection of a girl, then you're kidding yourself, Potter. And why should I deny myself that pleasure simply because I'm good looking enough to get the girls?"

"Your arrogance never ceases to amaze me." Joey took a moment and just stared at him. She would of loved to have known exactly how many girls he had had... "But you didn't answer my question. Do you see me as just another girl, or as "Potter"?" she asked, her tone flat. Joey licked her lips and sunk her hands deep into the pockets of the robes once more. She found a loose knut and jingled it as they walked..

"Well it never has in the past," Rusty answered, "but if I'm not mistaken, not only isn't Joey on here.....there's a Malfoy missing too, I always try and keep track of them and if he's got anything to do with Joey not being here....." He slammed the map down on the seat leaving it active. The little dots continued to move closer to the castle and two new ones appeared at the edge.

Orion gave a short stifled laugh. "Are you kidding? How could anyone assume that you're just a girl, Potter? You're fierce. You'd kill me as soon as walk up this hill with me, and I'm pretty sure you're actually the one protecting me from danger." He stopped walking and turned to stare at her. "Now, will you stop jingling? I'm going batty."

Andi gently pulled the map closer to her. "Awww... Russ. You just went all big brother on me. How charming to know you actually care." She studied the map. "Look, there they are. They're moving very slowly, but they're on the map. Both safe." She shoved the map back at him and rose to leave the carriage.

"Safe!, ha, not with that Slytherin octopus...." Rusty said as he helped Andi out of the carriage. He placed his wand back on the map and extinguished it and said, "but I know Joey too, and Orion had better watch it or he's gonna have eight hand's full...."

"I hate you. Did you know that?" Joey said jingling the coin louder. Joey hated being mocked, and could feel her temper rising. But that's what Malfoy wanted. He wanted a rise out of her, and Joey was willing to go any distance to keep Malfoy from getting what he wanted. "No. I will not stop jingling, bat boy. "

Andi withdrew her hand from Rusty's far too quickly and then kicked herself for it. "Well, I'm glad you can at least acknowledge that Joey is capable of handling herself. We're not little girls anymore, Russ. We can tie our own shoes and everything." She paused in her vehemence. "Thanks for the ride. I mean... thanks for letting me ride with you." She turned and raced for the stairs.

"Note to self," Orion muttered just loud enough for Joey to hear, "do not attempt normal conversations with one Lily Josephine Potter." He turned and continued up the path without speaking to her anymore. "I hope you get eaten by a raging hippogryff. But I'm not going to bother to hate you. You're now beneath my notice."

Lex had been watching MacNair inch ever so closer to her, but now he has casually put his arm around her shoulder. He has gone to far. "I'm all for improving house relations, but I think your going a little too fast for me," she says as she removes his arm and moves to the far side of the carriage. The trio of second years sitting across from them start to giggle. "Oh, look we're here at last." Lex opens the door and proceeds to get out. "You'd better hurry, MacNair. We don't want to be late for the sorting ceremony. I wonder what house Serenity will be sorted into."

"Well here's a note to myself: Don't jingle a coin with a Orion Lucius Malfoy in your presence or he'll flip out and run away," Joey said jogging to catch up with him. "Look, I'm sorry. I don't hate you. But, I won." Joey said laughing a bit. "I got the explosion from you before you got it out of me. Sweet victory." Joey poked him hard and flipped him the coin from her pocket. "Temper, temper Malfoy.."

Orion caught the coin and only barely managed to conceal an amused smile. His eyes still deepened to a smoky color in his humor and he turned his head so she wouldn't see. "You amuse me, Potter. I wouldn't have expected such a sense of humor from you, but not all surprises are bad. Now, I hate to spoil your victory, but I'm getting wet and you're dragging that cloak in the mud. How about we speed up and get to the castle?"

Well, he hadn't quite gotten his arm around her but, he'd definitely made some progress today. Bryce stepped out of the carriage and walked next to Lex, keeping his hands to himself for once. "The new girl? She'll probably be with the rest of yo Gryffs seeing as how she flocked with you on the train," he said as they walked up the steps into the entrance hall. "Well, I suppose this is where I bid you ado. Have fun with your friends."

"My pleasure," Rusty answered as she ran off. "And believe me, I noticed you're not a little girl anymore......" he added while still in earshot. Then he turned his attention to his sister and the wandering Slytherin, he decided he'd better wait a bit to make sure they didn't get lost....

"I don't know. Her parents were both in Slytherin House, so she might end up there. Thank you for a lovely ride up to the castle. I hope I see you around the school." Lex leaves and goes looking for Andie. She wants to sit with her at Gryffindor's table.

Bryce gave Alexa a short bow before heading over to the Slytherin table, a smile of victory on his face as he sat down. Looking around, he didn't see Malfoy, and though he wasn't worried about his friend, he was a bit disappointed he hadn't seen Alexa and himself together. He looked around at the students filing in and merely waited for the sorting to start.

Andi's cheeks burned from Rusty's comment as she took the steps two at a time. She waited at the top, watching Rusty lurk off in the direction of Malfoy and Joey. Once inside the entrance hall, Andi found Lex. She grabbed her twin by the elbow and pulled her in the direction of the Great Hall. "You had a vision," she stated it as fact. She'd felt the tingle that happened when Lex had one while she'd been riding with Rusty. "Tell me what you saw. But first... what were you doing with MacNair?"

Joey rolled her eyes once more. "Well, yes of course. I'd hate to soil one of Malfoy's finest robes. Don't even tell me how much your father spent on this..," Joey said, holding up the edges so it didn't drag the ground so much. "Would you really let a raging hippogryff tear me from limb to limb?" Joey's eyebrows lowered, and she tried to see a glimpse of his face. Joey knew he was in a hurry to get back, but her pace stayed the same. She was hoping the feat was done and over, and she could just blow off all the questions that were no doubt awaiting her up at the castle.
