tom smiled"yeah like that"he said leaning his head back agaist the wall"the power thing is mainly how you feel about the person,or so what i was told,thats why my dad taught me to block feeling when dueling"he said looking at his shoes and then up at her"yeah i liked the lake too,im surprised we never ran into each other"he said smiling

"I wish someone had taught me how to block out emothions while dueling, I think it would have made things easier for me." She said giggling "I was just wondering about that same thing." Tiffany said smiling at him.. "I was a bit self centered though while I was in school." Tiffanny said looking down slightly, embarrassed, remembering how snobby she was at times. "It is amazing how much people can change, don't you think?" She asked him

"yeah at school i use to shut people out,just shows how fear can change things"he said looking round at the table that were turned over and destroyed"that dueling things ok,but it will never change,someone could be begging for mercy or my best friend and you dont feel a thing"he said looking out of a porthole and the fog which was just hanging in the air

"Fear is an excellent motivator." Tiffany replied with a slight smile. She felt a slight shiver as she listened to him talk. "I hung out with the same group of friends the entire time I was at Hogwarts." She said thinking back. "And you know what is interesting is that since we have been out of school, I have not spoken to any of them. Not once." She had a slight frown on her face. "Oh well, such that it is." She said. Noticing that he seemed down since their change in conversation, Tiffany asked, "So besides football, what kinds of things do you enjoy."

tom looked out the window one more time then back at her"well my grandfather taught me how to play snoker,thats ok gets alittle boring though"he said thinking about that day and then if he would ever see his grandad again"you"he said looking at her with a small smile

"Snoker?" Tiffany asked smiling, "what is that?" She thought for a moment. "I really enjoy playing piano." She said smiling slightly and looking down blushing. My grandmother insisted that 'All proper young ladies learn how to play a proper instrument with out the use of magic.' SHe said in a overly pompous sounding voice, mimicking her grandmother. "That was actually one of the best things she ever gave me." She said laughing

"well its were you have a rectangle table with six pockets four in the connors and two along the sides in the middle,you have a long wooden pole and have to hit one ball into the others,you have to pot all the red balls and then the other coloured balls in a certian order"he said smiling and listen to her talk about the musical instruments"i would have like to play some kind of instrument but never got round to it"

Tiffany listned to him describing the game, trying to visualize it in her head. Confusion was writtten on her face as she tried to think of somthing it might relate too. Suddenly comprehension dawned on her, "Is it similair to a muggle game, billiards, I think it is?" She asked him excitdedly. "I saw a pool table once and couldn't belive how difficult it was to get the balls in the pockets, although that one didn't have a lot of red balls, just the colored ones, and then ones with stripes to tell the teams apart, I guess."

"yeah its like billards,but ever ball you pot gives you different amounts of points"he said smiling and unscrewing the lid of his drink and putting some on a bit of clothe and dabbed it on his cut after undoing the bange"just to make sure it wont get infected"he said smiling at her

"That's good idea." She said as she watched him clense his wound. "This game sounds interesting, I have never even heard of it. What is the object? How do you know who wins?" She asked him

"well you bulid up the points by potting the different coloured balls and when all the balls are potted the game ends"he said looking round then back at her"you use a long pole called a snoker que and you have to hit the white ball into the other,if you pot one you get another shot if you miss the other player gets a shot,if you pot the white ball the other person get two shot,you get the hang of it when you play a few games"he said smiling"so apart from tennis what do you do?"

"that sounds facinating!" Tiffany said excitedly, "I love trying new things, I like to try everything at least once just so that I can say I did it!" Tiffany replied laughing. "Mostly just Tennis and Piano, with school I hadn't really had any time to do anything else. Maybe now I will try new things." She said smiling at Tom. "Ooh I do really enjoy snorkeling and scuba diving, I have only done it once, but I found it quite enjoyeable." She smiled. "I wonder how much time we have left till the fog sets in." She said suddenly, "too bad we can't snorkel out of here." She said laughing slightly

tom smiled"i always had time on my hands at school,because i use to push every one away,i had time to finish all my work,its strange the only time i worked with other people was on my towns football team"he said looking out the window"yeah i dont think we have long thought"he said looking at the fog

"You are probably right." Tifanny said glancing out the window. "So why did you push people away while in school?" Tiffany asked, "If you don't mind me asking." She added hastily.

"well i dunno really,i guess it was after my family died,i had a friend who i thought i could trust with anything and then they betrayed me"he said leaning his head back agasit the wall and looking at her"and from then on i shut my self out from the world,but im getting over"he said shrugging

"That's horrible that someone who called themselves your friend would betray you." Tiffany said, turning to look at him. She got the impression that there was more to the story and that she gotten the short version, but decided she would not push him, it wasn't her business after all, she thought to herself. "Not everyone is like that person." She said softly to him, a sad smile playing on her lips.

"yeah i know,but i had so much trust in this friend that when they betrayed me,it completely change me as if i could never trust any one ever again"he said unscerwing the lid on his drink again and taking another sip

Tiffany felt so much sorrow at his words. She could not begin to imagine what that must have been like for him, and how devistated he must have felt. Not knowing what to say, she reached out a gently touched his arm for a moment, hoping that he knew how much she appreciated him opening up to her like this. Softly clearing her throat she asked him, "Hows your leg doing, it was giving you trouble earlier."

"its ok,it just needed a little rest,happens when i play football it i dont rest it or work it to hard it becomes weak"he said putting the lid back on his drink"so do you have a boyfriend or anyone back home"he said looking at her

"Ok, as long as your ok." Tiffany said smiling at Tom. Blushing slightly she replied, "No, I don't have a boyfriend or anyone waiting for me." She said smiling slightly, "Do you?" She asked him.

ooc: i know I havent posted in a while guys but I've been super busy and James hasnt answerd my post yet, but I would like to congratulate you guys esspecialy JulieAnn and The Dark Light on an amazing job!!!!

"yeah i'll be fine in abit"he said smiling"no same,i dont have a girlfreind,i never had time with school and everything"he sad smiling and looking round again then leaning back agasit the wall and resting his head back

Tiffany smiled, "I dated a little bit at Hogwarts, but nothing worked out, obviously." She said laughing softly, watching him out of the corner of her eye. "Contrary to what a lot of people thought of me, I was actually a good student, and some people didn't like me putting school first, silly really I think, but thats oh it is I guess."
