"No, it's because I'm doing this on my terms."

Archie listened to their converstion trying to find out what Cassie wanted with Marcella.

As she spoke, she sent Archie a message through leglimens, allowing him to listen in to the conversation. "Back me up Arch, if I need you..." she told him.

Sarah awoke and saw Marcella and Cassie talking. She tried her best to listen to the conversation, but could only get bits and pieces of it.
So she tried to get Marcella's attention without Cassie seeing her. She thought Marcella could just send the conversation through her mind and into Sarah's by using Legimency, but she didn't know if it would work. She saw Archie by the lake and he looked like he could hear the converstion clearly, but she didn't see how.

"I heard you and Archie earlier. He said that I didn't know that there was no evil and that there was only power and those to weak to seek it. Then you said that you didn't blame me. That I was just very 'uneducated'. So I was thinking: my father wants me to become a Death Eater, of course, and I, being so 'uneducated' and all, wondered if someone like yourself, someone extremley smart, would care to tell someone like me, someone young and 'uneducated' why I should become a Death Eater. Then I realized how fortunate I was to be in the presence of someone like you, the Dark Lord's daughter, for who would know more about being a Death Eater than you?" Cassie said. "In other words, I was wondering if by any chance you could tell me why I should become a Death Eater like my father wants."

Realising Cassie was being saracastic with her she simply replied, "As I told the others. If you have any doubts about it, then you're not ready. You should only become one for yourself and no-one else."

Turning away, she took Archie by the hand and sat with Sarah and Archie, under the tree.

"Well, Father, I tried. You can't put the crucius curse on me for lack of trying, now, can you?" Cassie muttered under her breath as she went and sat under a tree.

In a hushed whisper, Marcella told both Sarah and Archie what Cassie had wanted. Her change of heart had confused Marcella to her wits end.

Kristi watched as Cassie left the great hall and then turned back to her breakfast which had gotten cold. Well, that must have been the longest civil conversation I've ever held with a student here.

Just then Draco Malfoy and his goons passed by her on their way out of the great hall and pushed her into her plate of pancakes. She glared up at them and they laughed as the syrup dripped down her face. She was up in an instant, pointed her wand, and the three of them flew over the Slytherin table and landed in a heap on the other side.

Before they could recover she ran out of the great hall, cleaning up her face with a spell, and ran out onto the grounds. Out of breath, she looked around and noticed she had run headlong into Marcella and her friends.

Straightening out her robes and trying to feign dignity Kristi turned to head back to the castle and thought," Great, just perfect. I really need to get back my low profile."

Cassie, not seeing Kristi out on the grounds, went back into the castle and into the great hall. There was her brother lying in a heap, Crabbe and Goyle beside him. Cassie went over to them and grinned.
"What happened?"
"That-girl-she..."
"Who?" Cassie asked, helping her brother up.
"That one you were with." Draco growled. Cassie laughed.
"Did you deserve it?"
"No!" he said angrily.
"I have trouble believing that." Cassie said. Draco went down to the common room and Cassie followed him.
"Don't follow me!"
"I'll follow you if I want." Cassie snapped as she went into the common room.

"sooo, do you think she wants to become a Death Eater, or her father is just trying to force her, or both?" Sarah said quietly.

Good. Maybe they didn't notice me almost come barrelling into their little group. I'll just slip away quietly, I need to get to the library anyway.

Turning to Sarah she said, "I dont know, she was acting really out of character. I cant pretend that it didn't spook me."

"what about her" Sarah said, pointing to Kristi. "she almost ran right over us, in case you didn't notice..."

Looking in Kristi's direction she muttered, "Oh her! I dont waste the time of day considering the like of her."

"So, what have you been doing?" Draco asked, looking suspicious. "You're all cocky about something."
"Oh, nothing much. I spooked a couple of sixth years, hexed someone, not much."
"Right." Draco started towards the boy's dorms.
"I'm serious! By the way, before you go, do you have my book? Horrible Hexes and Curses?" Cassie said.
"No. Goodbye." Draco went up the stairs. Cassie made a face at his retreating form and then decided to go to the library.

Crossing her legs under the tree, Marce mumbled, "I'm gunna get that brat back for messing with my head!"

"I call her second!" Sarah laughed.

Glaring at Sarah, she said simply, "You dont want to witness what I plan to do to her."

"I'll take your word for it..." Sarah said quietly. She seemed to be saying a lot of things quietly.

Cassie casually walked up to the librarian, Madam Pince. "Do you know if you have the book Horrible Hexes and Curses by any chance?" she said.
"And what would someone like you want that book for?" the librarian said.
"Oh...a bit of light reading, you know?" Cassie said carefully. Madam Pince looked suspicious, but she disappeared behind a shelf of books and returned with a book titled Horrible Hexes and Curses all the same. "Thank you." Cassie said, smiling sweetly. She took the book over to a table and opened it. She ran her finger down the list of hexes until she came to the one she was looking for. "Excellent." she whispered. Tucking the book under her arm, Cassie left the library.

"Sorry, Sarah," she replied, realising she had been hazing her for the past few days.

"I plan to really make her regret the day she came to this school..."

Kristi sat in her quiet corner of the library, casually observing the comings and goings while studying her "Complex Potion Theory: A Beginner's Guide to Formulating New Potions" book she had received for her birthday last winter.

She looked up and saw Cassie walking over to a desk with a book on Hexes. "I wonder what she's up to?"

"Well, I think I've almost got this new potion figured out, I just need a little more information on some of these ingredients, but I can't find what I need in any of these books," she thought while glancing around at the shelves."

"I'll just have to go see Professor Snape about getting a pass for a book out of the Restricted Section...."

Kristi got up and started walking down towards the dungeons.

"Any ideas on what your going to do? Or are you still thinking up of the ultimate way of getting back at that B****?" Sarah asked.
