Snape was unawares of having fallen asleep however, one could only spend so much time staring into the black nothingness of night in such an exhausted state before one succumbed to sleep. He stirred a bit as he felt the air currents of the room shift but, remained asleep.

Kristi heard Marcella leave the room. She checked her clock and noticed it was just before dawn. She really wanted to get some more rest but, she didn't think she'd be able to fall back asleep. She lay there, eyes closed, trying not to think about the day.

For a few moments she was fine as she stepped under the shower, ensuring a towel was placed by the side in readniess for when she were finished. But she soon found that tears began to dribble down with the rain drops from the shower head. Running her hands through her soaked hair, she scrubbed at herself before hopping out, dripping wet. Wrapping the towel around her chest, still in tears, she slipped but managed to catch onto the side surface. Gently sliding down the wall, she fell lightly to the floor and, wiping a hand over hair, sobbed quietly, feeling so vulnerable.

Snape slowly, but reluctantly, opened his eyes. He was exhausted and yet, he had the most ominous feeling. Eyes still tired with sleep, he padded over to the bathroom and nearly collided with the unexpectedly closed bathroom door. Leaning against it, he could hear soft noises from within. He knocked lightly; he was concerned but, he didn't want to intrude.

She dithered between two ideas and then decided to stay quiet. Sniffling, she wiped her eyes free of tears only to find her eyes were bloodshot red. Giving up, she cried some more, not caring whether the intruder walked in on her or not.

Not hearing an answer either way, Snape decided to slowly crack the door. He found Marcella sitting on the floor in a towel, her face drenched with tears. He moved quickly to her, ignoring any protest she would made; he knelt down in front of her and wrapped his arms around her, cradling the back of her head with his hand.

Glad it was him rather than Kristi, she slipped her arms under his and used the full length of her palms to cling to the reverse of his shoulder, sobbing into the crevise to the right of his left shoulder.

Snape held her as she cried until the protestation from his knees became unbearable. He slowly turned and lowered himself into a sitting position, carefully moving Marcella with him, so that she was now sitting in his lap. He continued to hold her and stroke her hair, not knowing what else he could do.

[b]Coughing madly into her hand, she managed to choke, "Dont be silly Severus, you're getting your lap soaking wet." She scodled through her wet hair and hung her head, holding onto him despite her own protest.

Snape shook his head. "It doesn't matter," he whispered, running a hand down her back, trailing a finger along the edge of the towel.

Looking up into his eyes, they flickered for a second before she felt a sudden chilly thrill caress along her spine. Within seconds her eyes were closed and her lips had enveloped his.

Snape tightened his embrace as he felt Marcella's lips on his own. The towel slowly loosened from around her body as his hands caressed her back and neck. He was drowning in the scent and feel of her but, he didn't care, all that mattered was that he and she were here now, together.

Sliding a hand around to the back of his neck, she opened his lips beneath hers and wrapped herself in the kiss.

The kiss deepened and something deep inside of him broke free, masking his fears, his worries, his inhibitions. Snape clung to Marcella, his lifeline. Gradually, his fingers worked their way between her soft, pale, skin and the soft towel. He tugged at it with the one hand while caressing the side of her face with the other.

For a few fleeting moments, she lost her self in the passion, blind to any sense or reason. But reason soon broke through as she heard someone shuffling around in a room nearby. Reluctantly breaking her lips from his, she managed to mutter, "We can't. Kristi...she's..."

Snape put a finger to her lips and shushed her before replacing the finger with his lips, once more. But, it wasn't long before he, too, heard the faint sounds of feet shuffling closer and closer. He suddenly realized their compromising position.

Unable to stand just lying in bed, awake, with her eyes closed, Kristi flung the covers away from her and got up. She yawned and opened the door. She slowly made her way to the bathroom, her vision a bit foggy from sleep. Kristi placed her hand noisily on the door handle and yawned before pushing down on it and opening the door.

Her eyes darted toward the turning door handle. In an instant, her heart had stopped and her brain seemed to be going into over-drive. Dragging him by the collar, she jumped behind the shower curtain and pinned him against the wall inside the cubicle, silencing him with her hand, knowing what they would risk if she saw them together in such a compromising position.

With her eyes half shut, Kristi stepped into the washroom. She leaned against the sink and turned on the cold water, splashing it on her face to try and wake herself up a bit more. Then, she proceeded to go through her morning routine. She thought about taking her shower but, figured she should get some cleaning done first. More awake, now that she had brushed her teeth and been up and about for a bit, Kristi noticed the towel laying on the floor as she moved to vacate the bathroom. She leaned down and picked it up; it was still wet. Shrugging, she hung the towel on the rack and left.

Breathing a huge sigh of relief, she balanced a hand on his chest and suddenly became aware that sweat as accumulating at the part of her forehead that met her hair. Wiping her head over, she trailed a hand down his shoulder, before kissing him lightly on the cheek, thoroughly relieved.

Snape suddenly found himself pinned against the wall with Marcella's hand over his mouth. His heart pounded as the bathroom door opened and he thought for sure it would betray his whereabouts. It was as if he were a student again, lurking where he ought not to have been when a teacher would linger in the area. He breathed a sigh of relief after Kristi left and smiled down at Marcella after her light kiss upon his cheek. He took her head in his hands and kissed her forehead before lifting her chin so that his lips could taste the sweetness of her mouth once again.

Her first innocent kiss being met with a different one, she accepeted it and stood, unsure of herself, not feeling completely comfortable with the situation or sure of whether it was actually what he wanted.

Though she accepted his kiss and didn't stiffen at his touch, Snape could feel something wasn't quite right. He lowered his hands to her upper arms and searched her eyes.

Kristi put a few of her things away and then, sat on the edge of her bed, staring into her closet at the dress robes Marcella had altered for her the previous night. Her stomach growled and Kristi checked the time again. She was starving and breakfast would start being served in just ten minutes so, she decided to just go head up to breakfast.

Kristi quietly slipped into her father's office, pausing briefly to glance over the room before cracking open the door to the corridor and peering out. Seeing that there was no one else about, she opened the door the rest of the way and stepped out before turning back to the door to shut and lock it.

Falling to her knees, less than gently, she suddenly found herself crumpled on the floor of the cold and slightly damp shower cubicle. Her towel completely fallen, she felt not only physically naked, but emotionally, vulnerably too. She felt so open, so naked, so obvious that all her feelings were exposed to a degree to which she did not approve. Ashamed, scared, frightened, confused, she clung at one of his ankles, without reason for why and shook, shivered, creeply, her body growing ever whiter, her eyes becoming bloodshot.

Snape removed his robes and knelt as he draped them around Marcella. She was freezing, shaking, and pale. He held her to himself and lifted her off of the cold damp floor. He carried her out of the bathroom, lit a fire in the grate and sat down with her in front of the fire, trying to warm her up. "Marcella... Marcella, what's wrong?" he asked.

"How the bloody hell would I know?" she grumbled moodily, rubbing at her eyes with the tips of her fingers, the flames boring into them. Curled up on the chair, she felt les exposed, but still vulnerable. Pulling the clothing tight around her body, she tried to smile but felt her face form more of an unreadable expression between a frown and a grin.
