Kristi walked up to Marcella and Archie. "Moody's given the go-ahead. So... I guess this is it," she said. Swallowing a lump in her throat and shaking her head to prevent herself from tearing up she said, "It's going to be strange going back without Snape to be there when we arrive."

"And with someone else taking his place." said Marce as she stepped into the carriage and sat, making room for Archie, Andriel and Kristi. "Especially someone so close to home." she said, raising her eyebrows toward Archie and settlign backward, relzxingly laying her head on the bench cushions.

Kristi sat down to Marcella and gave her a querying look. "You know who they got to teach potions?" she asked, slightly anoyed that she hadn't realized that Snape would need to be replaced sooner.

"Yeah and they're sitting in this carriage with us.." she sighed, picking at the window, becoming slightly irritated by the conversation, but she didn't know why.

Kristi raised her eyebrows and sighed in exasperation. "No wonder Snape was so frustrated all the time with you," she said. "Well... who?"

She knew it was her and was pretty sure it was Marcella or Andriel. But, Archie? ANd why was Marcella so upset about it? I mean, it's not Snape, but Kristi thought she'd be happier with a friend taking over the post rather than some stranger.

At the mention of Snape, she threw Kristi a look of disappointment and sighed, quietly, "Archie.." as she felt some lose tears trickle onto her skirt.

Kristi looked over at Archie and back to Marcella, "But... that's a good thing right? I mean.. At least it's a friend and not some stranger."

"Excuse my tears." she said to Archie, trying to smile. "It'll just be strange, you know, you being there instead of him." Clearing her face of tears, she straightened herself as the carriage pulled off and added, "I suppose it's some conselation that I've been given his room to reside in."

"Really?" was all Kristi managed to say.

What else could she say? It felt kinda weird to think that Marcella would be staying in Snape's room, sleeping in his bed... She had never really thought about it before and found herself quite repulsed by the idea. As much as she wanted to be happy for Snape and Marcella's relationship and as much as she wanted to get Snape out of Azkaban so that they could be together. The thought of them actually being together, sleeping in the same room, the same bed, was still too much for her. "I need to get some air," Kristi said as she got up and left the compartment.

Arriving at the station, Marce climbed out and searched the train for Kristi, not quite sure what had gotten into her. Finding her in an empty compartment, she slid the door open and knocked on the side of the wall. "Mind if I come in?" she asked, tentatively.

Kristi looked up at Marcella and and then back out the window. She really wasn't being fair to Marcella. She needed to just deal with her uncomfortable feelings and stop lashing out like some spoiled child. "Have a seat," she said, looking back at Marcella again. "What's up?"

"You, you just left for no reason and left no explanation as to why." she said, worried about her friend, cuddling her knees to her chest. "Look, I know it's hard on you too and I'm sorry if I've acted selfishy. We're all each other's got really."

"No, it's not you. I'm just being foolish, is all," Kristi said. "I see Archie's been working tirelessly these last few days with the researching. I have to say that I'm surprised at how he's thrown himself into this project. He hates Snape."

"I get the feeling he's doing it for me." she said, glancing down at her hands, feeling she were unable to look at Kristi whilst saying this, the memory of Archie holding her in comfort still on her mind. "You do know I'm only staying in his room to get away from the kids. Goodness knows what rumors will be rife about the common room this term. And you know how short-tempered I am. The last thing I want, surprisingly, is to end up in Azkaban with him, for cursing some other kid."

"Well, Archie has always cared for you Marcella. Throughout all of last year it was so obvious that he was sweet on you.. at least from the perspective of a spy," Kristi said, trying to make Marcella feel a little more comfortable talking with her about this kind of thing. "As for staying in Snape's quarters, I know what you mean about getting away from the rest of the house. I'm not sure how well I'll be able to maintain my cover this term. Archie still doesn't know, does he?"

"About you? No.." she mused and then added, "I know, what about that room you used to stay in, adjacent to his, why dont you stay there? That way, we're close together and both away from the bratty kids." Marce made sure to note what Kristi had said about Archie and asked, "Do you really think his feelings were that strong? I mean, I knew he liked me and I felt guilty when I was forced to tell him about Snape. I hope I didn't hurt him too bad, although yesterday when we spoke in his room, he did say that I was forgiven."

"Oh yeah, they were definitely strong. Or else, what would there have been to forgive? I mean, unless he had feelings for you then, you and Snape being together shouldn't have been a problem for him. Sure, the age thing is weird and as a friend he'd be concerned. But really, Marce, do you think he would have been that upset if he didn't love you?" Kristi said.

She remained silent for a while, thinking about what she had said. It almost sounded as if she wanted Marcella to give up Snape for Archie. While that suited her just fine, Kristi didn't like to think that she was giving up on her father by pushing his lover toward another man... "Anyway, if it's okay with you and Dumbledore, I'd really like to stay in my summer room away from the dorms."

"Dumbledore's got no right to quibble with anything. He knows, he does one more thing against me and I'm gone from his side of things. I'm not saying I'd side with my father, I'd refuse to stand on either side." she concluded rather stubbornly.

She knew Archie had probably loved her. And what Kristi said made perfect sense to her. So why did she feel like she neededto apologise to him again? Sighing deeply, she let her hair down and, playing with the bobble, said, "He helped me alot yesterday, it was almost like how things used to be."

"Nothing in particular." she said, scraping at her nails. "We just talked about Snape and last year and what was going to happen to him. I got a little upset and he offered a shoulder to cry on. And then that got me even more upset, remembering how he had been so kind to me and yet I went and threw all his feelings back in his face as if they meant nothing to me. It did feel as though everything were normal again though, I mean when he hugged me. It was like he was the one there for me all over again."

"So... Do you care for him? I mean, what about Snape?" Kristi asked, tentatively. She wasn't sure what she was implying by asking those questions, they just kind of slipped out.

"Of course I care about him, but for him? That's not right. I mean, I love Severus." she said, positively sure of her words. "Maybe it was just a rush of feelings past that's affected me. It's probably nothing."

"Yeah; you are friends, after all. Friends hug and are there for one another all the time. And I know you love Snape," Kristi said, trying to comfort Marcella.

She hadn't realised she were being defensive untill Kristi confirmed that she knew she loved Snape. Pondering on the thought, she shook the doubts from her mind to prevent them from being read and thought of him as she closed her eyes. Locked in the dark dingy, damp rotting cells of Azkaban.

Archie sat on the train and looked at the rain pouring down the window .not long from now he would be sitting at the staff table watching the students.
