Snape steered Marcella over to the kitchen table and pushed her into a seat. He used his wand to clear up the mess and brought the tea and bread Marcella had prepared over to the table. He sat down and looked at her, "Thank you."

"We're even now." she said, a smile almost dancing on her face as she cuddled her bandaged hand. Flicking her wand, she turned on the radio so that it was tuned into WWN. A song entitled 'Closest thing to Crazy' by Katie Mellua, played on the radio and she bopped her head slowly as she chewed upon the bread, contemplating whether this summer would be as bad as she had originally thought.

Snape tried to ignore the music and concentrated on eating his bread. It seemed like Marcella was feeling better and perhaps she wouldn't run off, after all. It had been touch and go there for a while, but he hoped she would continue this respectful behavior for the rest of the summer.

Leaning back in her chair so it were on it's back legs, she twirled a strand of hair around her finger , gazing out of the window, singing quitely to herself, "This is the closest thing to crazy, I have ever been, Feeling 22, acting 17, this is the closest thing to crazy I have ever known, I was never crazy, on my own and now I know, that there's a link between the two, being close to crazy and being close to you.."

Snape watched the teenage antics of Marcella. He sat back in the chair and sipped at his tea. Suddenly, he jerked his hand and the tea spilt onto his sleeve. "Perfect," he muttered, getting up and putting the cup into the sink. "I'll be back soon," he said, making for the door,

"Where are you going?" she asked as she stood up and ran to the door from where he had just departed, Things were going so well and yet he had blown her cold, just like that, with no explination.

"There are things I must attend to," Snape answered, not slowing down. He grabbed his cloak and began to fasten it.

Following him, she intended on getting an answer out of him, "But where? What do I do if we need you? What if there's an emergency? You cant just run off like this without explaining anything to me!"

He looked up, "I can't explain, but trust me. You will be perfectly fine here. I shouldn't be gone more than a few hours at most."

He reached for the doorknob knowing she would not accept that as an answer and tried to come up with something a little more specific to use as an excuse.

"Alright." she sighed, knowing she would shock him with this answer, Taking advantage of his shock, she stepped forward and laid a hand on his shoulder, telling him, "Be careful." before she watched him leave.

Snape apparated back in front of the house less than half an hour later. He opened the front door and breathed a sigh of relief. That had been close.

Sat on the sofa in the living room, she didn't think it had even been an hour and yet she heard the door clicking open as he returned, Runing to the Kitchen doorway, she saw he had returned and breathed a sigh of relief. Replcing her arm in the sling, she set about boiling the kettle again.

Snape walked into the study and scribbled a note down on a piece of parchment. Then, he went back outside to find his owl. He attached the note to his leg and sent him off to find Dumbledore before heading back inside. He walked into the kitchen to find Marcella attempting to make tea again.

Struggling to lift the kettle with her wounded arm, she hauled the kettle onto the fire, slowly, trying to not hurt herself again. Seeing Snape had walked into the room, she forced a smile onto her face and said no more.

Snape sat down at the kitchen table. He was very uncomfortable and didn't know what to say to her. Then, he remembered that he hadn't seen any of her friends yet, today. "So, where are the others?"

Shrugging her shoulders, she placed a mug in front of him but didn't pour herself one. Leaning against the cupboards, she sighed, "I dont really think they know what to say to me. But what is there to say really? I guess I have to get used to not seeing them much now anyways." she mused quietly.

Snape slowly sipped at his tea. All he wanted to do right now was to left alone in peace. At least the other children weren't around, but he just didn't know what to do with Marcella. She seemed so miserable and didn't know how to deal with it; she just leaves herself emotionally open for the world to see. Sure, he had dealt with Potter and the like, who also wore their emotions on their sleeve. But, he had never had to live with either James or Harry and he just didn't know what to do.

"I'm gunna..." she stuttered, moving toward the door, sensing he didn't want her there. "I'm gunna go now..." Moving from the room, she walked into the study and stood by the window, gazing up towar the clouds in the simple sky. Why couldn't life be as simple for her? Why wasn't life as simple as the carefree clouds up in the sky.

Snape finished his tea in the silence. After cleaning up the kitchen he walked past the study, to the end of the hallway. He opened up the door to the basement and descended the stairs.

Snape selected a cauldron from the shelf and moved it over the hearth where he started a fire. He then began collecting ingredients from the various cupboards.

Unravelling the note from her God-father, she scanned it quickly and, storming to the fire where Snape stood, she tore the parchment into snipets and threw them into the flames, spitting upon them as she did so. "Good for nothing..." she cursed, under her breath.

Snape looked at Marcella. "What are you doing?" he sneered.

"What does it look like I'm doing..." she said, continueing to tear up the paper. Moving it under his nose, she said, "Dumbledore's reply to my letter. It's not good." She threw the last of the paper into the fire and watched it burn away and turn into ash and then sat on the sofa, disgruntled.

Snape looked down at her. "What did he say?" he asked. He guessed that she had asked for another gaurdian and Dumbledore had said no. He didn't blame her; he wasn't all that happy with the arrangements himself.
