Remus heard Marcella's voice reply and nodded, but instead of moving away he hesistated. Nymphadora - no, Tonks -, she seemed to sense this and retrieve instead of dragging him along. But, honestly, there was nothing else to see or do.

Sighing soundly, Remus closed the door of the basement and started out. It seemed like it was a good day outside. He came out right after Nick and Kristie, and looked about at the place. Indeed, it didn't look that terrifying with daylight, as it had been his first impression. Catching up with Tonks, unnoticed first, Remus asked curiously, "Beautiful sight, isn't it?" He looked up as well, "Well, if that's what you're staring at."

He shook his head at his own joke in a 'nevermind' fashion - he was supposed to be the adult here but he definitelly was not acting as one. "Tonks, sorry, but I wanted to ask you how things went and how's the situation in general. You know I've just arrived. And seemly already messed up, my big mouth." He sighed tiredly, not wanting to remember his... situation.

LOL you writing that up Fona just made me realise how much drama we've already had!! lol

As if on cue, Nick took Kristi's hand and they walked outside. With a nod to Tonks they walked several steps ahead of them just as Tonks proceeded to fill Remus in on what had happened thus far.

"You know, I still don't trust that man..." he spoke in an undertone to Kristi, pulling her closer. "He's supposed to be safe but for all we know he could just as easily forget to take that potion of his as he did forget to tell us about his state. And I really don't trust Black either. I don't like the idea of Marce being alone in there with him but I've got no other choice. If I went bombarding in there I know she'd only hate me and accuse me of assuming she couldn't handle things on her own. Truth being, she cant." He shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly.

"Sorry for going on about stuff. It's rather funny really, how I've sort of adopted the fatherly role. It's just, you girls don't deserve anymore pain and bringing you here seems to be doing just that. However suffocated we might've felt at Hogwarts, perhaps staying there would've been better after all."

Marcella took a sharp intake of breath as she heard the floorboards creak above them. She relaxed once more as the door clicked shut and they trudged out of the house. Feeling more than a little relieved, she laid a bare palm on Sirius' upper arm and continued to lay her on him, not having the energy to even hold herself up.

"You and Marcella have certainly been through a lot more than me. I'm not even sure why I'm as upset as I am about this whole thing. My father and I were never really close and my life up until two years ago was free of any drama, if you don't count those fits I had when I was eight and he refused to tell me anything about who my mother was. I got over it and moved on," Kristi replied. "So yeah, I'm really more concerned about Marcella being left alone with that madman. You know, he tried to have my father killed when they were at Hogwarts together? I should have remembered that. How could I have been so stupid?"

Kristi stopped and looked over her shoulder before grabbing Nick's shoulder. "He's the one! He's the werewolf," she whispered.

"So what? Do you mean he was there at the time?" Nick truly was helpless, he had no idea what time she was referring to. Maybe they did need to talk more.

"It's a bit silly for you to not even know your own mother..you're 18 now...of age...surely your father can no longer deny you that right?" he pried, knowing that perhaps he shouldn't interfere.

"I'd like to know but, it doesn't really matter anyway. It's not like I'll be able to see her if I knew who she was. She's dead, I know that much," Kristi shrugged. "As for him," she continued, pointing a thumb over her shoulder. "Black had tricked my father into going to the house where he was hanging out on the night of the full moon; before the advent of the Wolfsbane potion."

"But I'm sure that was all a long time ago and granted young people do make mistakes...I can vouch for that..." he said, squirming, not really wanting to admit to the foul deeds he'd committed. The murders, the tortures not to mention the abuse he'd put upon people. No, Kristi didn't need to know that person, he was gone.

"It matters to know who your mum is or was. I knew mine. She was an evil witch but I still had love for her, it was just a shame she didn't feel the same about me. After Voldemort had killed Marce's mother, having assumed she was being carried by the mudblood still, he tried to have an heir with my mother seeing as she was pure in comparison and was highly thought of by him. Then he found out about Marcella and forgot all about me. I was brought up completely the wrong way and in rebellion, wanting attention, I did some things which I now deeply regret. But I'm a changed man, or at least, I hope I am.."

She really wanted to hear more about Nick; she felt she hardly knew him at all, especially afte what he had just told her. Kristi only knew him as the boy all the girls were after. He never seemed to have any interest in anyone who wasn't fawning all over him which was why it had surprised her when he had suddenly come to her in the library. She knew Marcella had been behind that and knew he had probably never given her a first, let alone a second thought before that time. But, she hadn't given him much thought either, though she watched him as closely as the others in her house.

Kristi looked up into Nick's forlorn face and fought the urge to press him for more information. They really weren't that close, yet and now was not the time to press when they were sharing so freely, anyway. "I don't really know anything about your past or, much about your present either but, from what I've seen of you these past few months, you are a good man," she said. "Not sure if that's a change from what think you were but, that's what I see. We all do things we regret, even those of us who have been secreted away our entire lives, with no chance to really make mistakes. There are ways. No matter how much others try to protect us, not matter how much we try to protect ourselves, we all do stuff we regret."

Her one biggest, most recent, regret floated through her mind. She should never have left Darrin's side that morning.

"My regrets couldn't get any bigger..." he sighed, running a hand through his hair, letting go of Kristi's feeling suddenly unworthy to even be in her company. "It's not fair that other people die and I live after all that I did. I know I was yougn and impressionable but still, I shouldn't have..." he sighed once more, heavily, not really wanting to divulge at all.

"I'm scared Kristi." he told her, honestly, staring up into her eyes, quite suddenly. "I cant tell you at all because if you knew then the most sensible thing to do would be to stay away from me. I like to think I've changed but my past goes against me. If I did what I did once then what's to stop me doing it again?"

"I understand," Kristi replied, looking back at him and stopping in the middle of the road for a moment, glad that Tonks and Lupin did the same, without question. She took his hand back in her own. She really wanted to know more about this sudden revelation of something bad in his past but, she also knew it was foolish to press.

"I'm not really the right person to answer that question. But, since he's in prison at the moment..." Kristi shook her head and sighed. "This isn't going to help, is it? Well, despite the fact that he's in prison, Snape changed. He did horrible things, he must have as a Death Eater, but he ended up fighting on the right side in the end. There has to be something said for that."

Taking her hand once more, he nodded, "Once again, you're right, your Dad is proof things can change, people can change. I mean, I suppose your dad murdered and did other things and I've done no worse than that so really if he can conquer those dark urges then surely I should be able to too, in time. And who knows, having a lovely influential girl by my side might help the process."

"I think you've changed already on your own. But, I suppose it can't hurt to have someone around to help should those urges, whatever they are, come on a bit too strong," she replied, smiling up at him.

"I don't know though.." he said, holding her chin in his right hand. "You may help get rid of my dark side but your prescence does cause stronger urges..." he smiled and leaned into her, disregarding the adults completely, stopping in the middle of the road solely to kiss her.

Kristi was quite embarassed by this rather public display but, she soon lost herself in the kiss and she wrapped her arms around his waist. When she pulled back, she cast a quick, almost guilty, glance back at their guardians before looking back up at Nick. "Maybe we should get to the village and eat before we continue this line of the conversation," she laughed. "I'd still like to hear a bit more about you. These past five minutes, I think I've learned more than in the past five months. It's been enlightening and I'd like to know you better."

Pulling back, he pushed on the small of her back and rushed her forward, heading toward the village lengthening the gap between them and the adults. He tilted his head to the side slightly and whispered, "I just hope it's me you want to get to know and not my actions or past." Unable to help himself, his hand conveniently slid from the small of her back to her backside with little care as to what the people behindhim might think.

At first she thought he was angry with her for wanting to know more about him and for suggesting that she might want to hear about his past, should he wish to disclose any of it to her. But, any thoughts of him being angry with her were dispelled as she felt his hand slip from the small of her back to her backside. Normally this would have bothered her but, Kristi laughed and grabbed his hand, pulling it around her waist so that they walked side by side. "That was a freebie but, don't expect to get away with that kind of thing, especially in public, all the time," she said as they arrived in the village. "And don't worry, I may want to get to know you better but, I would never presume to probe into your past."

"What so I cant get away with feeling my own girls butt?" he asked, horrified. "I can understand the public thing.." he said, "I suppose..."

Pushing the door open to a small cafe, he led her in and kept the door held open for the others.

"I didn't say you couldn't feel my butt. I just said that one was free, you'll have to pay for the next one. I'm not sure how, though, so I'll let you know once you've earned it," Kristi replied, standing next to him as they waited for their guardians. "I still think this whole setup with those people following us everywhere is utterly ridiculous. No one cares about me, anyway."

"Oooh I get it.." he said sitting down in a booth opposite her. "You're the type of girl who wont allow a guy to get his pleasure without getting her fair share also. Well, I'll have you know you'll not be going without, not while you're with me..." he said, his hand finding her thigh across and under the table, his startlingly blue eyes shinning brightly.

"Something like that, I suppose," she blushed, chewing her bottom lip a bit and nearly jumping when she felt his hand on her thigh. This action made her blush even more but, she was determined to get control over herself and defiantly looked up into Nick's eyes despite her desire to merely look at the floor. She stared into his familar eyes, as if mesmerized.

"Suddenly I don't really want to be here anymore..." he said, removing his hand from her leg and bringing it above the table. Taking her hand, he pulled on it slightly and cocked his head to the right, "I hear there's a pretty quiet cloakroom in the back. Fancy going for a walk in there...purely to ahng your cloak up of course...." he added seemingly innocently.

She shook her head, realizing that she had been thinking about Darrin. But, as soon as she shook her head, she realized that Nick might take that as a refusal to follow him into the cloakroom. As that last thought crossed her mind, she smiled because he had her. It happened without her awareness but, Kristi couldn't deny that she did want to follow him into that cloakroom. "It is rather warm in here," she said, opening a few of the buttons on her cloak and looking up at Nick through her eyelashes, in a rather suggestive manner. "And, I suppose it would be safer if I had an escort, as well."

"Well then let's go m'lady.." he said, taking her by the hand, their cloaks laying forgotten on the chairs. He amde sure to take a good long look at the flash she'd given him and bit his lip, moving away from the adults hurriedly before they were given chance to object.

She followed him into the cloakroom and faught the urge to giggle. She could not believe how giddy she was getting; it was disgusting. Being pent up in a house full of tension for a couple of days was not good for her health. Kristi shut the door behind them and stood in front of Nick, looking up at him. "So, now that we've arrived, without our cloaks, I might add, what did you have in mind?" she asked, poking him in the chest as she smiled, her hazel eyes glinting briefly in delight.

ooc: I just had to mention eye color cause you did. Not that her eye color really has any significance like Nick's did, but yeah. LOL

When Marcella's fingers touched his shoulder blades, a chill ran up and down his spine. It seemed like a lifetime ago that anyone had touched him like that. Marcella had stirred feelings in him he had thought had died years ago. Voldemort and the dementors of Azkaban had stolen what little happiness Sirius had had. They had left him a broken man devoid of all emotions. Harry had managed to bring some joy back into his life, but it wasn't the same as having a companion. A soulmate he could share his happiness and sorrow with.

While he continued to hold Marcella close to him, Sirius listened to her words. She was right. Faith was in the past, and he had to let her go. No one could love a memory. Even Snape had managed to move on and raise their daughter. "Kristie and Faith? What do you mean Snape didn't know about Kristie?" Marcella's words hit him like a ton of bricks. "Who told you Faith was Kristie's mother?" Sirius asked Marcella. "There are only three people alive today who know that fact. Dumbledore swore Severus and I to secrecy. Snape would never break that vow. He may be a heartless monster, but Snivillus would never put his daughter's life in danger."

Sirius also heard Remus call from upstairs. He was relieved when Marcella said she didn't want to go to town. Sirius was still wanted by the Ministry of Magic. If he was spotted in town, aurors would surely come to investigate. The last thing the needed was the Ministry snooping around.

Marcella seemed to keep rambling on. If she heard what Sirius had said, she was ignoring it. Marcella kept talking about Snape and his child. She had to be strong for all of them. "Who were they?" Sirius wondered. Snape is in Azkaban, and Kristie is an adult the same age as Marecella. She talked like she needed to be Kristie's mother. Her words didn't make sense until Sirius put the pieces of the puzzle together. Marcella didn't need to be strong for Snape and Kristie only. She also needed to be strong for Snape's and her child. Sirius looked down at Marcella. Her head rested gently on his shoulder. He could feel her body jerk when the others left
