ooc: Terry, I think that Jake would react differently in this case and not be mad at Weasley pranks (since he's seen them for so long now) so I'm going to RP his reaction, since he's my character, a bit differently than you posted....you can your post edit if you want...

Jake wiped the cream off his face laughing. He'd long been familiar with the Weasley sense of humor and as long as no one got hurt, he didn't mind being the brunt of a joke every now and then. "Very funny.....but Brennan, you might want to put those away for now and I'd be careful when we get to Hogwarts, I've heard they have nifflers at the station in Hogsmeade that will get to search all bags when we arrive."

When Jake saw Wendi and Serenity return, he'd decided that the tniy compartment was getting even tinier and he took advantage of the moment to bid his farewell. "Alright you guys, I need to go patrol the other compartments, I'd hate for anyone to think I play favorites to my closest friends and relaltives.....besides I haven't seen Russ in about 10 minutes and that could be bad....who knows what trouble he's gotten into......" Jake stepped over all the sets of legs crossed in the compartment and out the door. "And besides, we're getting close, so yall might want to get changed into your robes..."

Serenity had thought about following Wendi but, at JJ's words about arriving soon and getting on their robes, she realized that she'd need to get to her bag in side the compartment to do so. She smiled at JJ as he walked past and then, squeezed her way into the compartment and tried to figure out where her bag had gone to. "Has anyone seen my bag? My robes are inside..." she asked.

Orion stepped out behind him and the two walked down toward the Gryffindor compartment, watching as Wendi walked past them. Before they arrived, Winston stepped out of the compartment and Serenity went back in. "Oh, wonderful, if it isn't one of Gryffindor's finest," he sneered.

Andi jumped back up on the seat and pulled out her robes which had been balled up in the corner of the trunk. They were wrinkled, but they would do. She hopped back down and swung out the door after Jake, tossing a promise to return and help plan mischief over her shoulder. Jake had made it to the end of the car, and Andi slipped into her robes on as she ran after him. "Jake!" she called after him, hoping he'd stop so she could catch up.

Orion pressed himself against the wall as Winston and one of the twins whipped past him. "Let him go. You'll only get yourself into trouble if you mess with the Head Boy. Might as well wait and mess with the whole car after he's gone." He watched Winston disappear through the door and realized that whichever twin it was... the sporty one... was changing as she ran. "Well, I hope you paid attention. That was a little preview of your future." He pushed past MacNair and headed for the compartment.

"Well I don't know about finest Bryce, but I'm not bad......" Jake said as he passed the two boys. A bit farther down the hall, Jake heard the voice of Andi calling out to him. He turned just in time to see her slipping her robes over her head. "Hey...what's up?"

"As if I'd pass up the opportunity," he said after taking in a eyefull of the twin, still staring after her before shaking himself, remembering their task. "Come on."

As they stepped into the doorway, Bryce saw the new girl standing on the tips of her toes, reaching up for a bag which was stowed in the overhead bins. "I think that's your cue," he whispered to Orion.

Andi straightened her rumpled robes as she finally caught up with Jake. "I'm so bored, Jake. So bored. Like... remember the time I accidently set your bed on fire with Mum's wand? I'm that bored. Let me patrol with you. I'll be quiet. I won't hex anyone. I won't talk back. Much. And I'll even let you tell me all about your owls from McGonagall this summer. I bet you know who the captain this year is going to be."

"Not bad," Orion agreed with MacNair and turned himself back to the task at hand. MacNair's cue was well-timed, as the Weasley boy and McMillan were both looking as if they wanted to help her out. Before they could move, Orion stepped up to her side and reached out for the bag that was just beyond her reach. "Allow me," he handed it to her, giving her distance without really seeming to. He'd read her before and knew that the way to her heart certainly wasn't going to be by rushing her senses like it was with some of the more brainless Hufflepuffs. She needed her space.

Bryce leaned in the doorway of the compartment, smiling 'innocently' at the Gryffindor boys while Orion beat them to helping the new girl.

Her finger tips had just brushed up against the bag when she felt someone close by and the bag was suddenly moving and out of the compartment. She lowered herself down and turned around to find, not Brennan nor Charlie, but Orion. Serenity accepted the bag from him and gave him a gratified smile. "Thanks," she said, feeling much more comfortable without having him on her arm and looming over her like a vulture over carrion.

Orion smiled easily. "Anytime. We kind of got off to a bumpy start, and I think maybe we need to start over from the very beginning." He held out his hand to her casually and resisted the urge to do more than shake it. "Orion Malfoy. Slytherin. Sixth year. Arrogant prat, but I grow on people. Need anything else from up there?" He gestured at the bags above the seats.

Jake smiled and agreed to let the older of his sisters tag along as he moved throughout the compartments making sure the students were all beginning to get changed. Some of the first years were starting to looked panicked. "Well it looks like Russ has been through here, I'm sure, spreading all sorts of stories about how the sorting works....just look at these kids," Jake said, pointing as some first years who had managed to put thier robes on upside down.

Just as Jake was going to open up the compartment door though and lend a hand, the door slid open and Rusty walked out almost knocking the two over.

"Hey watcha....oh....it's my favorite Head Bug and the cutest little Quidditch Captain......what, going on a tour you two?"

"Russ!!!," Jake yelled, but it was too late, Andi had heard the news already.

"No, that's everything I need," she said.

Though she was wary of taking his hand again, she took it and was pleasantly surprised that all he did was shake it. "Serenity Rosier-McMillian. No house, yet," she smiled, dropping his hand and looking toward the door before addressing the compartment at large. "I'm going to find the restroom to get changed."

Andi's eyes went wide and she did a little dance for joy before flinging herself at her brother. "It's alright, Jakesters! I won't tell a soul. I won't!" She peppered his face with noisy kisses before he set her down and she launched herself at Rusty. "And you! Thank you!" She recalled what she was doing before she got to the kissing part and removed herself from around Rusty's neck. "Sorry, Russ." She backed up to Jake's side and wondered if her face was red. Based on how hot it felt, she was sure it was.

Orion shook his head. "No need. Weasley... Wendi's snatched up a berth about two down. I bet you could change down there. I'll walk with you..." He looked at her earnestly. "If you'll let me." He hadn't reacted to her name, not because he didn't know who she was but because he knew only to well. Only child of two of the Dark Lord's biggest supporters. The woman, Datura Rosier, had turned just before the Dark Lord died. His father blamed a lot of his woes on her as well as Potter. He'd owl his father with the news once they arrived of course, but he'd probably leave out the part about her being so blamed attractive.

"You mean your big brother kept that a secret from you all summer.....wow, Jake, your tough...." Rusty said, looking back and forth from Jake to Andi. "I'd have told you as soon as MacGonagall sent him the owl if I'd known I get a reaction like that," he said to Andi while smiling and fiddling with his unkempt hair again.

Serenity almost kicked herself for forgetting about her new friend so quickly and nodded to Malfoy. "I'm sure I could find it myself but, you can walk with me if you want," she said, hefting her bag to her shoulder and walking to the door, eyeing the boy who stood in her way and was staring at her in a most distressing manner.

Andi elbowed Jake. "Jake always follows the rules. He wouldn't have told me if it was my death bed wish and it was my last request." She gripped his hand and grinned up at him, but her face still felt hot and she was uncomfortably aware that Rusty had just said he'd enjoyed her hugging him. She was torn between running away and doing it again. "I didn't mean to," she finally said, her eyes big.

Orion shouldered MacNair aside and winked at him. "This lout is Bryce MacNair. He's not a bad fellow, althoug his manners are deplorable today." He followed her out of the car, holding the door for her and staying close to the wall in teh corridor. "You'll like Hogwarts. Its... it's just Hogwarts. I'm sure you miss your old school, but Hogwarts isn't bad. It'll grow on you. Like me." He grinned at her.

"Ha," Rusty barked, "didn't bother me at all.... anytime you feel like hugging someone, you just search out ole Rusty," he said then looked at Jake, "So, what's next on the tour?"

Jake was a little embarassed that his sister felt he would keep such secrets from her.......but she was right afterall. He tugged on her hand a bit and said, "well, I haven't been all the way to the back yet, I know that's where most of the Slytherin sit so I should probably make sure they're behaving."

"I'm sure Hogwarts will be fine. I'm not too sure about you, though," she said, knocking on the door as she arrived at what she believed was Wendi's compartment. "Wendi? It's Serenity."

Wendi had just properly changed into her school robes when she heard a knock on the compartment door and it being swung open. "Oh hello Serenity!" A cheerful smile greeted the girl but then her face turned sour as she noticed the company the poor girl was in. "Sheesh Malfoy, do you ever give up?!" Rolling her eyes she ignored the idiot and turned to Serenity, "Glad you decided to join me heh."

Andi nodded and wondered if she'd ever have the nerve to take him up on that offer. "And if they aren't behaving we'll..." She eyed Jake and put on an innocent face. "We'll tell their mums and dads and there won't be any dessert after supper. Naughty naughty Slytherins." Feeling bold, she winked at Rusty to let him in on her mocking of always polite Jake. "You should come with us. We can play good Gryff, bad Gryff."

"Awww, you're not that bad....better let me play that role this time though," Rusty laughed back to Andi. "And thanks for the offer," he added, "I wouldn't turn down an offer to harass.....I mean, check up on Slytherins anytime...."

Orion wasn't patient, but he knew leaving gracefully would do a lot more than making a scene. And he was willing to be patient if it meant being even friends with Serenity. Orion was sure that his father would want him to keep a close eye on the girl, and Orion didn't mind one bit. "I'll see you later," he bowed low and turned to walk slowly down teh corridor. Let Weasley be the one to look like a git this time... Orion wouldn't even respond to her taunt.

She was surprised that Malfoy held his tongue and merely walked away. But, rather than linger on the boy, she turned and smiled at Wendi. "Well, I needed a place to change and I didn't fancy a show with all those people in the other compartment. I was going to use the restroom but, Malfoy suggested coming here. I'm sorry I didn't think of you first," she said in a rush as she shut the door. "You don't mind, do you?"

She pulled out her uniform and robe. It wasn't Hogwarts but, her old school uniform was the best she had, given the circumstances. She quickly changed into the knee-length black skirt and crisp white shirt, deftly tying the orange and black tie which clashed horribly with her hair before slipping into her robe. The school crest of the Salem Witches' Institute crackled until she silenced it with a charm. "It always does that when I first put it on," she explained, indicating the fire on the patch which flickered around an empty stake.

"Well good," Andi released Jake's hand and fell into step between the two boys. She was more than conscious of his presence and of the way his hand occasionally brushed hers as they walked. It probably wasn't on purpose, but all she could feel was his warmth. "Maybe this time Jake can be the bad Gryff. I bet he's always wanted to go all red in the face like dad does sometimes at practice." She was so busy thinking about how close Rusty stood to her that she stepped on Jake and nearly fell over him.
