Orion grinned and pulled Lia into his lap. "Are you mad at me too, Lia love? Me?" He nuzzled against her. "Be my friend still, Lia. Tell me all about the horrid Gryffs."

"I think there are potatoes too, but if you don't stop surprising me with all of thse weird surprises, I'm going to lock you into a closet with the entire Slytherin Quidditch team. Tell me about Snape."

"No..," Lia said wiggling out of his lap. "I'm kind of mad at you two." Lia scooted away and dug through her purse, and pulled out her lipstick. She took her time, making sure to get it on perfectly, and making sure Orion saw every motion of it. "Maybe I'll take a page out of your book and go find me some new company for lunch..," Lia said. She sure wished Beth would of come to lunch with her.. just to see how Beth's advice played out.

It was Joey's turn to laugh now.."I just... crawled into his lap.. and kissed him..," Joey shook her head, still giggling. "I'm positive I'll never be able to look at him the same way again. I even hugged him!" Joey said, throwing her arms around Andi. Joey sighed and laid her head on Andi's shoulder.."It's been a weird day. I've kissed two guys so far, and you've licked one. We'd better be careful or there's no telling what is in store for us for the rest of the day.."

Andi laughed along with her. "I might go lock myself in the dorm until Quidditch practice. But first... I think you still need some potatoes? They do smell good." She put her arm through Joey's and pulled her into the Great Hall.

Orion watched Lia put on her lipstick with fascination, following it with a scowl. "What's going on, Lia? All of a sudden there are rules you have about our friendship. Nothing has changed since last year, but you have all these new expectations." He stood up and tried to get near enough to her to speak in a low voice. "What do you want, Lia? What is it you want from us?"

Beth left the classroom, still wrapped up in her own thoughts. Wandering for a while, she looked up, realising she had arrived at the owlery. The room was drafty as always, the low hooting coming from the many nests. She sat down in the window, pulling her knees up to her chest, gazing down on the grounds. She could see figures moving, no doubt on their way to or from the greenhouses, or Hagrid’s hut. She picked at the loose stones, idly flipping one around against her knees. It fell from her hand as a golden barn owl landed beside her. Smiling briefly, she reached into her robes, pulling out the biscuits she had there.

Holding one out, she looked fondly at the bird. ‘What is wrong with me today Aslan?’ she asked, giving the owl a quick rub. The responding hoot gave her no answer, and she dropped the extra biscuits on the windowsill, looking back out the window. She’d never felt this indifferent to Hogwart’s before, this feeling of boredom usually reserved for the time she spent with her Aunt and Uncle.

She sat staring at the lake, watching the surface ripple as the giant squid surfaced, its tentacles moving out of the water. Aslan had already flown off, unimpressed with her lack of attention. She glanced at her watch, standing up to straighten her robes. She still had time to grab some lunch before her next class, or at least to get something to eat later. Grabbing her things, she headed down to the great hall.

"Does it really matter, what Lia wants, Orion?" she asked, turning to face him. "Just forget it...," Lia said, linking her fingers with his.

"Quidditch practice..," Joey moaned. " I mean.. Quidditch practice!" she repeated, this time much more upbeat. She laughed and went in to sit at their table. Joey took a different seat though.. one where she could see the Slytherin table, instead of her usual one where she kept her back to them and their snide remarks. Joey filled her plate with those potatoes she had been on about, looking up to where Malfoy sat in between scoops. "So Lex has joined MacNair for lunch.. interesting..," Joey said, looking back down at her plate.

Beth entered the Great Hall, moving over to the Slytherin table after a quick glance about the room. Moving over to where Lia was sitting, Beth plopped down opposite the girl. Grabbing an apple, she glanced over at the others. Lia still holding Malfoys hand, no surprise there. But what in Merlin's name had prompted the presence of the Winston twin.

"well that's great.......having Bryce hate you is all the more reason for us to like being around you.....who else can you upset in that house?" Rusty asked, as they reached the entrance to the Great Hall.

Serenity laughed, "Yes, and I think I might need the protection from you. He really didn't seem too pleased and I'm certain he's plotting some revenge."

She stopped as they entered the hall and looked around. "I guess this is where we part," she said, glancing over and seeing Beth at the table already.

"I guess your right, Bryce. I'm judging you solely on your reputation at school. I'm willing to start over if your are." Lex's time alone withe Bryce was short lived. No sooner had their differences been worked out when Malfoy shows up and starts talking to Bryce in French. To make matters worse, Bryce reponds to him in French as well. Annoyed she couldn't understand what they were saying, Lex frowned and started picking at her chips. Bryce then wraps his arm around her waist, and she jumps shivers running up and down her spine. Lex sees MacNair and herself sitting at her parents favorite spot by the lake. She is lying back on his chest looking up at the moon and stars. Bryce wraps his arms around her and holds her tight. At that moment she fees closer to him than she has felt with anyone else. Lex doesn't want this feeling to end. The moment is ruined when Bryce removes his arm and leans over to pour ketchup on her chips. He then starts talking to Orion again.

Orion then shoves the basket of apples in her direction. Lex was getting mad. She hadn't risked getting detention to listen to the two of them converse in a language she didn't even understand. Lex did know enough French to figure out they were talking about a girl. This made Lex even angrier. She was used to having a boy's undivided attendtion. Lex is about th get up and leave when Bryce turns his attention back to her.

Thing were going fine until Lia Bones decides to show up at the table. Then everything started to make sense to Lex. Obviously they had been talking about Lia. Lex was getting angry again when Lia announced Bryce and she had a date for lunch together. Bryce gave Lex and apologetic look. He had totally forgotten about his date with Lia. He thought it more important to spend time with Lex than have lunch with Lia. Lex scoots back over to Bryce and helps him put his arm around her waist again. She grabs an apple out of the basket and then pushes it over to Lia. Lex then cuddles up to Bryce letting Lia know he was hers now. Lex them smiles politely when Beth comes over to the table obviously mad to find a Gryffindor at the Slytherin table.

Bryce smiled as Alexa put his arm back around her and leaned into him. "And here I was thinking that you wouldn't be an easy catch," he whispered to her before picking up an apple of his own.

Lex smiles at Bryce and whispers in his ear, "you haven't caught me yet. I'm just letting you pursue me." She then snuggle a little closer to him.

"Haven't caught you yet? Just pursuing? Is that what you call licking me during potions class, joining me at the Slytherin table for lunch, and now snuggling up to me?" Bryce asked, wondering exactly what she would be offering him if he did managed to catch her.

Jake and Rusty knew that Serenity was correct, though reluctant to part with her...."alright Ren, we'll see you thanks for a nice class."

"Yeah, and you just signal if you're having any problems with Bryce....or any others for that matter, you just let us know....." Rusty answered with a bark, and the two waved and headed over towards the Gryffindor table to eat.

"It does matter, Lia love," Orion's brow furrowed and he pulled on her hand. "You're my friend, and you matter." He pulled her away from the table and wrapped his arm around her waist.

"Oh, sure... I could have been over there too, but I'm just getting used to the idea of being remotely friendly with MacNair. I don't think I'm ready for lunch." Andi checked the head table. "Where's your dad? Are you going to tell anyone else about... the closet?"

"Shut it, Andi!" Joey snapped quickly, looking around to see if anyone heard. "I don't know where Dad is.. he's probably still in class or something." Joey mushed around her potatoes. "Rusty is coming.. not a word about the closet... or I'll ... well.. I'll do something...," Joey said unsurely..

"I won't talk about it," Andi scowled. "I was just teasing. If you're going to lose your sense of humor about this, its going to make you insane," Andi confided before she sat up straighter and smoothed her hair. If Rusty was coming... what was the point? She leaned on her fist and scowled again.

"I know you didn't just smooth your hair?" Joey asked, already laughing. "You're a riot. I once saw him... eat with his toes. A real winner, let me tell you.." Joey watched her brother come across the hall, departing with Serenity. "I wonder if they even remember practice tonight..?" she asked, making a face with her enormous pile of potatoes.

"Let's not talk about, Orion. I.. am just being strange. Suppose it was that DADA class with Potter," she said shrugging and leaning over onto him.

"You'll have to remind him, since I've been banned from even touching my hair in his presence. You have to admit, Jo... I'm better than the others when it comes to not hanging all over him. I really wish I could have at least been original in picking someone to be stupid about. I couldn't like someone dangerous and exciting like Malfoy or MacNair. Or someone annoyingly perfect like Finch-Fletchley. Or even someone totally unique, like Franklin Longbottom. Nooooo... I have to want the one boy that every girl in this school wants. And my best friend's brother. I'm hopeless at this girl stuff." She fell face forward to pound her forehead on the table.

Orion tightened his grip on Lia. "So you're moving in on Potter already? How'd that go? Tell me you managed to seduce him already and I'll stand up on the table right now and proclaim you Sexiest Sorceress in the Universe."

'Hey Serenity,' Beth replied, looking up at the girl. 'Not too bad for your first class was it?' A slight smirk spread across her lips. 'And I'm sure that you weren't too upset with your partner either.' She grinned slightly, still looking at the girl.

"I don't know what you mean by that," Serenity said, laughing a bit. "It was good to spend some time with Rusty again, even if I didn't remember him all that well. I wouldn't have minded pairing up with JJ, though. I was a lot closer to him than Rusty. But, no, that wasn't too bad at all."

Beth rested her head down on her arms, tilting her head to face Serenity. She put the apple down on the table, spinning it round as she watched. She sighed, rolling her head back onto her chin, looking over at Lia, a smirk playing on her lips. 'I think Lia enjoyed it too,' she said. 'How did the lovely Professor's robes smell then?'
