John looked at her, and Wyn waved exuberantly. She was so glad he was feeling better and was out of the infirmary. He looked worried, though, as well as some other emotion that kept him looking taut and unhappy. She looked to where Jay was and realized that he was still very close to her, hovering almost protectively.

Jay saw the interaction between John and Wyn, and upon hearing her comments about how close they were, "since they were babies" he suddenly realized how close he and Wyn were right then, he felt a bit like he was intruding upon something like when you walk in upon a converstion that you didn't hear from the beginning, he felt he should move away slightly, but didn't he liked the fact that although he spilled blood and guts all over her she didn't seem to mind, he hadn't been able to talk with most girls comfortably, all his friends growing up were boys, except Hermione, but she didn't count, not like this

Harry started feeling some of the old feelings and the pain he had lived through so many times before....he looked for something else to talk about and realized that thier jar of eyeballs was oozing over the top like a bowl of marachino cherries, "uh Professor, Harry asked, "how many more of this creature are we going to mutilate?"

Day kicked herself for being hypocritical. She had just gotten out of the infirmary for getting into a fight over how John thought his loss was greater than hers just because he felt that her father's death was justified. Day knew better: no matter how justified a death may be, the loss of that person to their loved ones hurts just as much as an unjustified death.

Day stared at the table and the full jar of eyeballs for a few minutes. She waited for Professor Snape's answer to Harry's question and hoped he would dismiss them so that she could get away from Harry. He was a bad influence on her: Since when did she feel sorry for a mudblood's son? It was just wrong. Hopefully her mother had been able to arrange a meeting with the Dark Lord sooner than the Hogsmeade trip. She had made her decision and wanted desperately to be the youngest member of his ranks.

Snape walked over to Harry and Day's table and surveyed the eyes in their jar. "Very good Rosier," he said before walking over to John and Wyn's table.

He was a little less than pleased with their work. Not only was the jar only half full, but the clear liquid had turned red from the imprecision of their cuts. "Sloppy work and the jar hasn't been filled," he said.

Snape walked back over to his desk and got out another jar of clear liquid. He placed it on Harry and Day's desk, "You will be finished once Darcy and Winston have filled their jar. Now, I have some business to attend to withthe Headmaster. I'm warning you now, any duelling or funny business will land you another wekk of detention. So, behave yourselves while I am gone."

With that, Snape left the classroom. The two Slytherins and two Gryffindors were trapped together and all alone with no one to supervise their actions.

-=Draco was sitting by the fire in the Slytherin common room, contemplating about certain things. But the thing that was really bothering him is the detention that Day and some others got into. He wanted to see what was happening, so he decided to sneak out. But before he could do it, he heard a tapping sound from the window on his right. He found out that it was his eagle owl, so he did an incantation to open the window, and his eagle flew in and landed on top of his shoulder, carrying a letter on its beak.=-

Hmm... This must be the reply to Day's letter... Should I open it?

-=Draco resisted the temptation and decided its best to give it to Day, sealed and untouched. He strode off to the direction to where the others are serving detention. He took a look inside and felt that the room is quite jovial. He pondered on why this is happening, but before he can move another muscle, he saw Snape standing right in front of him.=-

Snape raised an eyebrow. Turning back and looking into the classroom, he had a sneaky suspicion he knew what that letter was about. "Perhaps it would be best to wait. The detention is almost over."

Snape noticed that the detention-bound students were beginging to look out the door so he turned back to Malfoy and said with a look that said pay no attention to what I am telling you right now, "Once the detention is over, Mr. Malfoy." Then, he shut the door and with a significant glance back at Malfoy, he walked off toward the Headmaster's office.

-=The door to the detention classroom was shut by Professor Snape on his face. Draco wanted to take his wand out and point it at Snape who was walking away, but he took deep breaths, counted from one to ten, then paused.=-

What if I just waited here until He returns? Um... nah, I won't... Uh, I think I know what to do...

-=Draco checked to see if Professor Snape has turned around the corner, and when he saw that he did, he pointed his wand on the door and muttered "Alohomora". The spell didn't work, but when he just pushed it open, it worked.=-

Oy, Day! Come here, quickly!

-=The four students inside the detention room were surprised to see Draco standing right outside. Harry quickly stood up, but Draco said.=-

Now, now, Potter, play nicely. I don't have any business with you... yet, so stay where you are!

Day jumped up and wiped her dirty hands on her robes. She walked over to Draco at the door, "What are you doing here? Snape could be back any minute!"

I have to really give this. I think it's a reply to the letter that you wrote. Who's it from, anyway? But never mind that now, just tell it to me later. I have to go before Snape catches me and lets me hang with you lot!

-=Draco glared at the other people in the room, meaning don't tell or else, then he quickly dashed out of the room and went back to their commons.=-

Day stared a the letter in her hands. She ws rooted to the spot and couldn't move. Her heart was pounding in anticipation. Did she dare to open it in here, with them? Finally, curiosity getting the better of her, she opened the letter.

Dearest Daughter,

I was overjoyed to hear your good news. I talked with some of my friends and they have informed me that you are indeed to be bestowed with a special gift. I can't express in words how proud I am of you. As per your request, the matter will be taken care of. Please be patient and wait for further correspondance.

Mother

Day was so overwhelmed by this news that she felt a bit light headed and needed to sit down. She sank into the chair beside Potter, the letter forgotten in her hand. She closed her eyes and sighed.

Johnathan noticed Wyn wave and he waved back with a saddened heart as he smiled at her. "Hey.." he whispered as he left Snapes desk, "I gotta go...bye." he added as he left the class.

He waited outside near one of the halls for Snape but on seeing Draco he moved into a shadow and over heard Snape and Malfoy talking. Malfoy needed to give Day a letter and in Johnathans mind he knew what that letter was. He was right about her from the beginning and it scared him for many of their lives including Wyn.

After Draco went inside and Snape walked of John ran after Snape.
"Professor!" He yelled as he ran up to him, "Is it alright if I go with you?" He asked as he walked with him.

"I understand. It seems we are having a problem keeping you Slytherins out of the Hospital Wing this year," he sneered. It did not please him that hi students had made up more than half of the visits to the infirmary this year.

*Mattie had been daydreaming up in her dorm for what seemed like hours. She almost forgot her late Astronomy class that evening. She gathered up her books and quill, and started making her way toward the astronomy tower. She bounced along still in her excellant mood with her bright and energetic smile. Secretly hoping to run into Harry after he got out of detention.*

Harry watched Draco leave after giving something to Day, he unclenched his hand from his wand inside his pocket, he never trusted Draco, not that he couldn't take him in a duel anyway....he watched Day read a letter and then stumble a little as she sat down, "Day," he asked, "are you okay... is it something bad....."
