Jay turned back towards Wyn, his hand really hurt but he was more curious about how he felt for Wyn, she seemed really worried about his hand, or stopping the bledding all over her robes...but while she was holding his hand, he felt something....something he liked.....

Day smirked as Snape took the points away from Gryffindor. It was all she could do to keep from laughing, but Wyn seemed genuinely concerned. Strange, but Day supposed feeling sorry for Gryffs was a side effect of being friends with someone like John. Day began to unscrew the cap on the jar. Before sticking her hand in, she rolled up her sleeves.

ooc: I don't know what the creatures are. I just have a thing for disecting eyeballs. It's tough to do and they are really interesting organs.

*Mattie was still in her excellant mood and decided to sneak a peak in on Day's and Wyn's..and of course...Harry's detention. She walked past the door of Snapes room, then walked back by again..trying to get Day's attention. She waved just out of site of Snape, at Day..*

Harry looking over at his pal asked, "you got a hand on everything?"....he snikered then turning towards Day jeested," okay who gets to hit Snape with the next one?"

"Honestly, Potter, are you ever going to grow up?" she sneered. Then, catching Mattie waving at her, she looked up at Snape, who was completely wrapped up in his paper, and snuck over to the door. "What?" she whispered.

Harry looked over to see Mattie at the door and then looked quickly back at Snape, he was busy reading, he tried to hear what she and Day were discussing wondering if Day knew that Mattie and he were going to be doing defensive spells together....

*Mattie was in such a good mood that she just couldn't stop herself. She flung her arms around Day and gave her a big hug.*

"Thanks Day. For taking up for me with Pansy. That means so much to me."

*She then released Day and stood there smiling*

Day was completely taken aback. She had never expected Mattie to come up and thank her let alone give her a hug. "Uh.. no problem. But, Wyn said she didn't get a chance to tell you so, unless this is about something else that I don't know about, how did you know?"

Day jumped when she thought she heard Snape move. "No problem.. but I have to go," she said quickly and ran back to her seat next to Harry.

*ANd Mattie left the dungeons in an even better mood. She had caught Harry's eye for a sec. What was it about Boy wonder that had her all crazy for him? She shrugged to herself and bounced along*

Wyn helped Jay bandage his hand. She avoided making eye contact with him, feeling strangely responsible for his wound and for his losing house points. It wasn't her fault he hadn't been paying attention... but he was looking at her.

"Let's try this again, shall we?" she said softly, reaching into the jar for a fresh creature.

Day looked at the jar in front of them again. It didn't smell as bad as she thought it would. Day put her hand into the jar and extracted one of the creatures. They were really slimy and tough to keep a handle on, it kept trying to slip out of her hands; no wonder Snape said it would take two people to extract the eyes.

Day held the creature in her hands and studied it. She'd never seen anything like it. It was very fish-like, but it had legs. Very strange. She looked over to see Harry staring at her so she put the creature down on the table, where it proceeded to slip and slide around.

As Johnathan read the note he was rather taken back. It had no name on it but simply said 'Watch Out Or What Happened To Your Mother Will Surely Happen To You!' Johnathan through the paper out right after he read it.

"What the..." He said as he got up. Johnathan was rather nervous now, who and what had left this? He decided to to pick up the note and show it to someone of higher importance. If his life was in danger now someone needed to know. Either Dumbledore or Snape...but not Snape, Johnathan couldn't trust his Head Of House so much.

He ran out of the Slytherin dorms and out the common area. He was out of the Slytherin house and looked around for anyone suspicious. He walked down the halls looking in every corner for danger.

*Mattie made her way back to the Slytherin common room, didn't see anyone to talk to, and went up to her bed. She crawled into it and lay looking up at the ceiling.*

Harry saw Day place the slimy little "thing" on the table and was watching him....he thought now would be a good time to ask some of the things that were bothering him..."uh..Day?" he asked quietly hoping Snape didn't here them, "what hap[pend the other night between you and John, um I mean I'm sure what ever he probably had it coming to him but....." his voice trailed off he wasn't sure if she wanted to talk about it...at least not to him..

Jay let Wyn grab one more of the creatures and this time after giggling a little said" okay lookout but here goes," he placed the knife in to the eyesocket and lifted slightly, the eyeball made a schwucking sound that reminded Jay of walking in the mud after a Quidditch game and getting his shoe caught in the mud and pulling it out "schwuck"

Day listened as Harry babbled on about John. "Well, can you hold that down so I can pluck out it's eyes?" she asked. Harry held it down and she got to work, carefully cutting around the eyes, cutting the optic nerve, and finally, placing the extracted eyeball into the vial of clear solution while she continued talking, "Let's just say that those witches and wizards that take pride in their pureblood status aren't the only ones with their prejudices."

Wyn made a disgusted face that was more funny than anything else. "Ugh... that is such a gross noise! Do it again!" She ordered with a laugh. Jay stuck the knife into the other eye socket and it squelched as well.

"So... Jay..." Wyn searched for something to talk about as they worked. She remembered the conversation on the train. "Have you written anything since you got to Hogwarts?"

"what do you mean?" asked Harry while he pushed a little tto hard and punctured the membrane surface of the iris and all the fluid in the eyeball ooozed out, "oops"

Day slapped Harry's hand away from the creature. "Be careful! You're doing it all wrong!" she scolded. "What do you mean, what do I mean? That... that... John..." she couldn't finishe, she was getting upset and realized that she had completely dismembered the creature.

Jay thought it was pretty cool that Wyn wasn't too grossed out by what they were doing..."do you want to try the next one,?" he asked......"well I haven't had much time since we got here between Quidditch and classes and now this detention, " he thought whether or not he would tell her....."don't laugh but I am thinking about writing something on Professor Lupin," he waited for a second, "I was really impressed with him as a teacher and the stories that Harry's told me about him in the...." he hesitated, "well seeing him alot over the summer."

Harry realized he was upsetrting Day and decided that before he ended up like the creature who now looked like it had been turned inside out, he said" that's okay, it's none of my business, I really don't know him that well, I've seen him around"

"Oh, it just makes me so mad!" she continued. "He yells at me for saying I think I'm better than that mudblood and then he goes off and says his mother is better than my father!" Day took the mutilated creature and got ready to chuck it across the room in anger...

Wyn wrinkled her nose and waved away the knife. "You're fine. You keep it." She thought about what he had said. From her understanding, Potter was an orphan with a... less than lovely home life. "You stayed with Potter this summer? I've heard about his relatives. Apparently, they make the rest of the Muggles look GOOD." She shook her head. "Anyway, would you let me read your poems?"

Wyn looked over Jay's shoulder at Harry and Day. They were being so precise. She moved close to Jay and whispered, "Do you think we're doing it wrong?"

under different circumstances Harry might have exploded with "well at least you still have one parent...I don't!", but he could tell Day was really getting upset and he really didn't want her getting into any more trouble with Snape, "wait Day.....don't", he reached over and grabbing her arm softly he slowly pryed the little slimy thingy our of her fingers, she had squeezed so hard that he said, "well at least we won't have to cut this one's eyes out," and he dropped the two loosened orbs into the jar, he then thought about what to say, "was it John who made you go outside the other night too...?"
