"Remus...we'll be the first one's to class if we go now..." Sirius said with a sigh. "But...ok...we'll go get our books. I want to get a good seat anyways so I can keep my eye on my new Slytherin buddy and Bells. I don't want a seat where they are behind me..." Sirius said as he pushed away from the Gryffindor table.

Severus got up and walked back to the dungeons. Collecting his books from the dorm, he made his way down the corridor a bit to the potions classroom. He sat in a corner in the back of the room and took out his things, burying his face in a book while he waited for class to start.

Bella slid into the seat next to Severus and pulled down his book with her wand. "You, my dear, are very anti-social. Maybe you don't need friends, but I bet you need some allies, and there aren't any who live in that book," she said in a slightly patronizing voice. "Look, Severus, I know you don't think much of me now, but I think we can help each other. Watch each others' back, so to speak. What do you think?" Her voice wasn't pleading but was calm and a bit detached, as if a business agreement was being reached.

Severus slowly lowered his book and placed it on the table. He studied the girl before him carefully before finally extending his right hand. She was right, and as he saw Sirius and his Gryffindor pals just beyond the doorway, he knew allies could be quite useful. "I suppose it could be useful," he said.

Bella took his hand delicately and squeezed it. "There, that wasn't so bad. This doesn't make us friends, you know," she reminded him. "But I won't call you names if you don't hex me. Fair?"

Remus led the boys into the classroom. It was dark and dank, and the other boys held back a bit, but he was eager to get started. He took a seat in the front row and received glares from his new friends. With a sigh of exasperation, he picked up his bag and followed them to the back of the room.

"Fair," Severus replied and was about to pick up his book once more, when the teacher arrived. The class was over swiftly and he was sure he had done well, even managed to get quite a few points for Slytherin. He collected his books and made to slip out the door before the loud Gryffindors took notice of him.

James was walking with Sirius and Remus into Potions, their first class, Renus headed for the front of the room, James loked at Sirius, he could read his mind, they worked their way to the back near the greasey kid and a girl, "psst." James said towards Remus, who seemed to get the message and picked up his things and came back towards them

Sirius was kept too busy during Potions to have any fun. Their Potions Professor really laid the work on them their first day in. Sirius partnered up with James, and the two of them together really made a good pair, and brewed their very first Potion together. The pair and Remus got a few points for Gryffindor, but not as many as Snape had pulled off. "What a nerd." Sirius thought as he eyed the Greasy kid leave. Sirius pulled out his already extremely wrinkled schedule and looked over it. Transfiguration next. Sirius was secretly really looking forward to that class. The boys, Sirius, James, Remus, and Peter all made their way to the classroom, and was greeted by a very stern looking witch.

"whoa," said James as the four of them walked into Transfiguration and saw who the Professor was

"My name is Professor MacGonagal, kindly take your seats"

James was going to sit in the back like they had done in the Potions class but he noticed Sirius move towards the front for this class, it appeared that Remus also wanted to be nearer the teacher for this one, "oh well" he thought and followed his new friends as Peter brought up the rear again.

Peter was in awe of his new friends. They were so smart and they didn't mind him tagging along. Potions really hard and Peter wasn't looking forward to Transfiguration, either. He was sure he would struggle and this time everyone was sitting up front which meant the teacher was sure to notice.

Sirius sat in awe of his new Transfiguration Professor as she went over everything they were going to cover in their first year. Sirius knew straight up, that besides lunch break and flying lessons, this was going to be his favorite class. McGonnagal showed them a few basic wand movements and them let the class out a few minutes early so they could have a better chance of finding the Great Hall in time for lunch.

Snape slunk into the Great Hall and over to the Slytherin table. He was falling asleep after his last class and could use a bite to eat to wake up. The only mildly interesting part of that class had been the professor. But the amusement of having a ghost for a teacher wore off quickly as Snape realized there was nothing remotely interesting about him.

Spotting the group of Gryffindors trooping into the Great Hall, Snape smirked and thought he might have a bit of fun after all. Pointing his wand at the kid with the messy black hair, he muttered a curse under his breath, causing his glasses to fly off of his face and land, with a sickening crunch, under the foot of the boy who had accosted Snape on the train.

James, Sirius, Remus and Peter were walking into the Great Hall for lunch after a wonderful first Transfiguration class, James was leading the parade when all of a sudden, his glasses flew off and landed under their feet, Sirius made one additional step when they herad the glasses break apart.

"hey....what the...." James realized right away that glasses didn't just decide to jump off one's face, so he asked the others to scan the room to see who might have been responsible...."look for that greasey kid," James suggested.....

Snape put his wand back in his pocket and picked up his fork. It was very difficult to keep his concentration on his plate when he wanted to see the reactions from the Gryffs. Giving up all pretense of being engrossed in eating, Snape kept his eyes fixed on the small group of Gryffs with an evil smile of entertainment.

Sirius reached down to pick up the pieces of James's glasses from his feet, flashing a glance over to Snape. Snape was just puting away his wand and reaching for his fork, grinning guiltily. Sirius raked all the pieces in his hand and handed them over to Remus...if any of the four of them were going to be able to fix the glasses, he'd be the most likely. All the while Sirius was formulating a plan to get Greasy back.

Sirius then decided to take the long way to the Gryffindor table. He casually walked over towards Snape..the two not breaking eye contact, Sirius returning the evil smirk back at Severus. When Sirius was close enough to curse Snape, he used one of the only curses he knew "Stupefy". And as Snape was stunned and fell backwards, Sirius fell. He fell in the most dramatic way he could muster, yelling out in agony and holding his ankle. The Transfiguration Professor was over to Sirius's side in no time flat, staring down at him fiercely. Sirius was rolling over and over, and yelling out about being cursed..and what pain he was in. Sirius couldn't tell whether or not McGonnagal was buying it...but he was soon rescued by his friends, who seemed to catch on quickly. They all three at once started going on and on about how they had seen the whole thing..and the kid with the black hair had cursed Sirius for no reason...and then he hid behind the table.

McGonnagal glanced over to Snape, and seen that he indeed was no longer at the table. McGonnagal's lips went thinner than thin, as she said quite plainly,

"Go and get that ankle checked out Mr. Black. And I advise you not go taking the long way to your table next time. I'll talk to Mr. Snape. "

Sirius was pulled to his feet by James and Peter. "Yes Professor McGonnagal" Sirius said with a nod. Then Sirius limped out of the Great Hall dramatically with the help of his friends.

Severus had no time to react. One minute that Black kid was walking by him and the next minute, he found himself stunned under the table with Sirius making a big commotion about being cursed. The stern witch from the sorting ceremony came over and glared at him after sending Black off to the Hospital Wing. Snape slunk out from under the table and stood looking up at her.

Professor McGonnagal pierced the Slytherin student with a look as he slithered out from underneath the table. She towered over him threateningly with her hands placed on her hips.

"Explain yourself."

Severus looked up at the professor with a bored expression. "I was eating my lunch and Black stunned me as he walked past," he said, shooting a sneer at Black's retreating back.

McGonnagal squinted down at the kid. "He just up and cursed you? Just like that?" She said as she leaned forward to get his attention. " Very unlikely, Mr. Snape. That'll be ten points from Slytherin and if it happens again, I'll report to your Head of House and you'll receive detention. But I expect that this will not be happening again, right Mr. Snape? "

Snape couldn't believe he was getting off so easy but, he'd have to be more careful from now on. "Yes, mam," he said and turned to sit back down and finish his lunch.

Peter laughed, nervously, at Sirius' faked injury and followed him, Potter, and Lupin out of the Great Hall. When they reached the corridors, Sirius had stopped leaning on Potter and Lupin and they all began to laugh out loud. Now all they had to do was wait and see what the greasy kid got for punishment.

Sirius made sure he was way out of earshot of the Great Hall and bust out into fits of laughter. He stopped leaning on James, but used the wall to lean on as he laughed and laughed. Sirius had put on a spectactular show and he knew it.

"I guess we should head up to the Nurse's office. McGonnagal will probably want a update on me...I'll walk the majority of the way, then you guys will have to help me once we get there." He said with a huge grin plastered on his face. "ANd guys...thanks for helping. Wasn't that just too much fun? Ole Greasy just doesn't know what he's got coming this year." And the four of them headed off towards the Nurse's office. Sirius didn't exactly have a clue where it was, but nonetheless they all pretende to know where they were going.

Snape saw the four Gryffs hobble out of the Great Hall. He quickly finished his lunch and then snuck out the door to follow them. He overheard Black say that he would walk most of the way and then fake his injury again as the drew near the infirmary. Well, that's what he thought...

Determined to earn his punishment and help Black out, Snape followed them to a more or less deserted corridor before he struck. Making sure he had a place to duck and cover once his spell was cast, Snape pointed his wand at the "injured" leg and a muttered, "Adflicto Affligo!"

He quickly tucked himself behind a suit of armour as he heard the bone in Black's leg crack.

Sirius had been right in the middle of an impression of Snape's face when he cursed him a few moments before, when he felt pain like no other. He heard the bone in his leg crack. He yelped out in agony and reached for Remus, before hitting the ground. He tried his best not to let the tears that were ready to pour out of his eyes escape, but ask he reached for his leg, they all came pouring out.

Snape peaked his head out to watch the aftermath of his curse. He smirked as he saw Sirius go down and start to cry. Served him right after what he had tried to pull in the Great Hall, nearly landing him detention. Snape slid back behind the suit of armour as he noticed some of the gang turn their heads.
