Remus heard the door shut behind him, and he knew it was being spelled shut. He went through his normal routine, removing his outer clothes and wand and tucking them deep beneath the dingy sofa. He would probably destroy that sofa, but his possessions would be safe. The wolf never found them or cared about them.

The sun was just down, and the moon would be up soon. Remus was tempted to explore the house, but he couldn't will the energy. He was so tired; it was a product of his body preparing to contort itself into a painful and unnatural shape. Remus sat in the corner of the room, wrapping his arms around his knees. He thought about his new friends and what great prank they could pull when he got back in three days.

Sirius made to stand up when Remus shot up and grabbed his stomach, but before he could get a word out, Remus was already halfway across the Great Hall. But Sirius wasn't surprised in the slightest that he was running off to the Hospital Wing, he looked awful. "Well, that just leaves the three of us for tonight then. Maybe we should wait for him...naw, we'll just sneak out again just for him. Let's head on up to the Common Room and get the good seats for a change." Sirius and James, with Peter trailing behind, headed up and spent the rest of the evening playing wizard's chess, and daring each other to pull the hair of the girls around the room. Finally around midnight, the room cleared and Sirius led the way out of the portrait hole..

Snape sat in the common room, reading his potions textbook. As the hours ticked away, the various students began making their way to the dorms, until finnaly, he was left alone. At the stroke of midnight, he shut his book and slipped out of the common room door, slinking down the corridor, toward the entrance hall.

"Come on Peter...,"Sirius said harshly as they made their way through the corridors. "Stay close to us, not a couple yards back." The three of them moved cat-like (well James and Sirius did anyways) and came to the front doors. They had been extremely lucky so far and hadn't ran into any teachers, but their luck took a turn..."Sirius peeped around the final corner before the huge Oak door, and almost yelped at the sight. Madam P and Professor McGonnagal and some ghost that Sirius didn't know. Sirius threw his arm out to make Peter stop and flattened himself to the wall. "We'll just wait it out....they won't come this way....," Sirius whispered. The other two nodded, and the three boys waited. What was actually probably about 5 minutes, but seemed like hours to Sirius, the two women and the horrid looking ghost moved on in the other direction. Sirius smiled back at the other two..."I'll race you there..." and he ran towards the door..

Peter followed Sirius and James as closesly as possible after Sirius' remark, his beady eyes darting back and forth. He was sure they'd get caught and would be doomed to serve detention night after night for the rest of their time at Hogwarts. Or, worse yet, he'd be expelled.

Peter was shaken out of his thoughts as he felt himself smashed up against the wall. He let out a small sqeak and nearly wet himself when he saw two professors and a ghost go past them. What felt like hours later, they were finally gone and Peter found himself virtually alone as Sirius and James took off a run without him. He ran as fast as his short, chubby, legs could carry him, afraid that if he didn't keep up, the professors would come back and catch him.

Sirius ran as fast as his legs would carry him...James was on his side the whole time. But, neither of them being too thick, stopped just before the danger zone of the tree. Sirius and James both were bent over, hands on knees, huffing and puffing. Neither really cared who won or lost. But on further examination, they realized that they weren't alone on the Grounds. Sirius's heart stopped for a second as he looked around quickly. It was some other students that Sirius didn't recognize. Sirius felt defeated. They had been beaten to the tree after all...

Sirius looked to James. He obvisiously was thinking the same thing, and had the same look of disappointment as Sirius. But, as Sirius and James were all wrapped up in the idea of being beat to the spectacular tree..Peter came running by, not bothering to stop like James and Sirius did..

Peter was having difficutly breathing and was concentrating so hard on not tripping over his own feet that he failed to notice his surroundings. He ran right past James and Sirius and didn't stop until he bumped into something and fell to the ground. Shaking his head, Peter got up, brushing himself off when he suddenly looked up... His eyes went wide and he stood, petrified to the spot.

Sirius watched Peter fly past and pelted into the tree. Sirius smacked his forehead in an exasperated manner. He glanced to James, then tore off towards Peter, in attempt to pull him away from the wrath of the tree. But the tree, apparantly disturbed by Peter's impact, was letting its thick limbs go wild in retaliation. Sirius dodged a few lashes at him, but it was impossible to miss them all. He took a smack to the back of the head just as he reached Peter.

Peter panicked, the limbs of the trees lashed about, narrowly missing him. Sirius was coming after him but, was knocked in the back of the head just as he reached him. In a panic, once more, Peter squeaked and, without thinking, grabbed the back of Sirius' robes and began to pull him away from the tree. He kept low to the ground and stopped, covering Sirius' unconcious form when the branches swung lower. Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, Peter had finished dragging Sirius back to James. He sat down with a plop, his face dripping with sweat and a little blood from the scratches he had received. He was shaking like mad and was on the verge of tears.

Snape watched as the three... Three? Where was the fourth one? He watched three of the annoying Gryffindors run out the front door and he followed at a distance. He couldn't help but laugh as the smallest one ran headlong into the tree which began to wave it's branches about, furiously. He completely let down his guard when Black got hit in the back of the head. Snape doubled over, nearly dropping his wand, tears cascading down his pale cheeks at the entertaining sight.

Sirius was knocked out only for a second, and very well could of got himself out of the path of the tree, but decided to see what Peter would do. And in true Gryffindor fashion, he came through, and saved the day. Once back safely besides James, he cracked his eyes open and caught James looking down on him. Sirius winked and closed his eyes again, pretending be unconscious still. Finally after a few long minutes, Sirius stirred. He sat up and looked to Peter, who was looking pathetic.

"Peter? Did you save me from that tree? That was mighty brave of you....maybe you're in the right House after all, Petey..."

Peter looked over at Sirius with wide eyes. "Me? S... s... Save you?" he squeaked, not really believing what he was hearing. It sounded as if he were being accepted as one of them. "You think so? I'm in the right house?"

"Yes Peter, I think you're in the right House,"Sirius said in a tone of exasperation. "But if you don't calm down I might change my mind." SIrius got to his feet once again, rubbing the back of his head. He caught James's eyes, and nodded towards the older kids. They were a group of Ravenclaws and Slytherins, and from what SIrius could see, one of the older Ravenclaws seemed to think he could make it and the other students around him were encouraging him to do so. The boy that kept calling Grudgeon, tore off to the tree, dodging limbs and jumping out of the way...he made spectacular rolls and was quick on his feet. Sirius gave a whistle, totally impressed by this kid. All the other strudents had started cheering as he was about a foot from the WIllow, when a limb caught him, much like it had Sirius, square in the back of the head. He fell to the ground and unlike Sirius, he was really out cold and the tree was having a field day on his body. The girls of the older group were screaming and calling out, "Davey!!" and the boys were trying to get to him...but none of them seemed brave enough to do it...Sirius and James had just decided that since all the other older nitwits didn't seem to want to help the poor guy that was literally being beat to death, they would fulfill their duty as a Gryffindor and save the poor guy. But before they even started towards him, a loud curse came from overhead and the tree froze. Dumbledore had come....

Snape was beside himself with mirth. This tree would be the source of much amusement. "Idiots," he managed to mumble to himself as he watched the students try and outwit the tree, which he was now sure, was a whomping willow, a quite violent breed of tree.

His amusement was shortlived, however, when the headmaster made his appearance. It was time for Snape to slither back into the castle, before he could be caught out of bed at such a late hour. Resisting the urge to stay and watch the Gryffindors take a verbal beating, Snape reluctantly left the scene of the crime and crawled into bed.

It has been almost a month since the last post in this RP. I am considering just deleting this RP and starting it over in another forum with new members at some point as those who were involved seem to have lost interest. If any of the original members would like to continue with this RP, please let me know within the week.
