Severus Snape Part 2

On Saturday morning, Lily started to put her Potion books, quills, ink bottles, and parchment into her bag for her tutoring with Snape. When she finished grabbing all the things she needed, she left the Girls Dorm and into the common room where she saw Remus, James, Sirius, Peter, and Keely sitting by the fireplace.
"Hey Lily," said Keely, "Come over here for a seond."
"I'm sorry, guys I can't." said Lily, "I need to get going. I have this...thing I gotta do."
"What kind of 'Thing'?" asked Peter.
"Oh, you know..." said Lily, "Like a...thing. I gotta go, see you later!" She hurried out of the common room and down the corridor towards the Great Hall for a quick breakfast. When she got to the Great Hall and sat at the Gryffindor table, she looked at the entrance to the Great Hall and was relieved that her friends didn't follow her. She turned back to the food on the table and started to put toast and eggs on her plate.
"Hey, Lily."
Lily looked around and saw Amber, Ashley, Hannah, and Hillary coming to sit by her.
"Yes?" Lily answered.
"We were just wondering," started Hillary, "Are you with that Severus Snape boy from Slytherin?"
"What do you mean by that?" Lily asked, even though she knew where the conversation was going.
"Are you..." Hillary started to giggle and finished, "dating?" Lily nearly gagged on her toast and said, "No! What on earth gave you that idea?"
"Word's been going around that you and Snape are having a little date by the tree." Amber said in a matter-of-fact tone in her voice.
"It's not a date." said Lily, "And who told you that?"
"That girl over there," she pointed towards a black girl who was quietly eating by herself, "But Snape's been telling a lot of people about it."
"Well it's not a date." said Lily, but Hannah, Amber, Hillary, and Ashley didn't believe her. Lily abandoned her plate, grabbed her bag, and went over to the Slytherin table towards Severus. When she was behind Snape, she asked him, "So, are you ready for your tutoring?"
"Date is more likely." said a blonde haired boy who looked like he was in either his fifth or sixth year and he and the other Slytherins, except Severus, laughed. Snape ignored them and said, "Yeah, let's go." he got up from his seat and Lily led him out of the the Great Hall. When they reached the Entrance Hall, Lily stopped and turned to Severus, who was giving her a puzzled look.
"Severus, some girls in Gryffindor told me that you were telling all the Slytherins that we were actually going on a date, is it true?" Snape opened his mouth and answered-

Severus Snape Part 3

"Not exactly"
"Then what did you tell them?" asked Lily.
"Hardly anything, they asked me what I was talking to you for and all I told them was that it wasn't any of their business."
"Then where'd the date rumor come from?"
"I was just getting to that." said Severus, "After I told them that Lucius Malfoy-he's the one who said that our tutoring was more like a date when you came over to the Slytherin table-he asked me if it was a date, and when I was denying it they still kept going on about it. Then a few Ravenclaws heard them talking about it and I guess it sort of...spread out."
"Well, it didn't exactly 'sort of' spread out, Severus," said Lily, "Almost the entire school's talking about it."
"Well, just ignore it." said Severus, "Ignoring it is kinda one of the ways to not to get annoyed by it. And I bet that by the end of next week people will forget about it."
"I hope you're right, Severus." Lily looked at her watch and said, "I think we should get started on the tutoring now."
"Right, where were we going to do it again?"
"I thought we could do it outside since it's so nice out."
"That's sounds like a good idea. I know a spot by the lake that could be good."
"Okay, we can do it there." Lily picked up her bag and followed Severus outside. They walked around by the lake until they reached a tree next to it.
"It's a great place to sit because it's got loads of shade and it's got a good view of the lake." said Severus.
"You were right, Sev." said Lily as she and Severus sat under the tree and got their things out for the tutoring, "It is a good place. I just hope my friends won't be here to see us." Severus looked at her, confused and hurt.
"What do you mean by that?" Lily suddenly realized what she said and answered, "Not that I'm embaressed by you or anything, but it's just that my friends don't really say nice things sometimes when it involves someone from Slytherin. In fact, two of my friends definetly have a hatred towards anyone from Slytherin."
"How does that prove that you're not embaressed by me?" asked Severus
"It's just that, i really don't want them to see you and insult you." said Lily, "I mean, it's bad enough that James Potter and Sirius Black play jokes on me and some of my other friends but-" Severus suddenly interrupted her.
"You know James Potter?" he asked
"Yes, why do-" But Severus suddenly started to pack up his things again and left without saying another word

Chapter Eight: The Threat

Lily, feeling rather hurt, sat in the common room doing her Transfiguration homework until James, Sirius, Keely, Remus, and Peter entered. They saw her and Remus said, "Hey, Lil. What's wrong?" he added seeing the look on her face
"I was going to tutor someone this morning," explained Lily, "But he left before we even started."
"Why'd he leave?" James asked as he sat down on a chair near her.
"Because I told him I knew you."
"Why would he leave because of that?" asked Remus
"I don't know, Severus must've known James before they came to Hog-" but James interrupted.
"You mean Severus Snape? You were going to tutor him?" When Lily nodded, James said, "That's just criminal!"
"No, that's being friendly."
"Either way, why would you tutor a creep like him? Especially after I told him-" but he knew that he said too much, Lily stared at him and asked, "Told him what, exactly?"
"It's nothing."
"No, tell us." said Keely.
"Okay, fine!" said James, "When we were nine, I told him to stay away from my sister and my friends."
"You WHAT?" shouted Lily.
"What would you have expected me to do? Just lay there and watch that weirdo be with my sister? He even did one of the most horrible things I've seen him do to her that will seriously scar me for life!"
"He hurt her?" asked Peter.
"No..." James paused and mumbled something so quietly that they couldn't hear him.
"Could you repeat that?" asked Keely.
"He kissed my sister!" James almost shouted causing many students to look around and stare at him, "We're in the park, I'm showing Mia a magic trick and along comes Snape. I leave them alone for a few moments and when I saw them again..." he shuddered.
"Hang on, if Severus and Mia had a thing together," said Remus, "Then why does he have a crush on Lily?"
"That's a very good question." said Sirius, his tone not believing.
"Sirius, do you also know something we don't?" asked Keely.
"No." once again, Sirius didn't sound believable.
"Sirius Black, if you don't tell us right now-"
"Okay, okay! After James threatened Snape, a few days later, Mia and I meet in Diagon Alley. And we started to hang out a lot and she ended up forgeting about Snape and started having a crush on me. Sure, Snape was heartbroken but he got over it a few months later. It seemed like he'd never love another girl again, 'till Lily Flower, here came along." Lily punched him in the shoulder and told James, "Potter, because of you I can't be friends with Severus! Now he won't be able to good marks on Potions because from what Slughorn told me, Sirius and I were his best students in first year in his class."
"It's not like he can't get help from the older students..." said James
"Yeah, but when I saw Severus this morning, he seemed to have hated the older Slytherins!" Lily grabbed her things and left the common room.
"Where are you going?" asked Remus.
"I'm going to talk to Severus."

Eeew! James' sister and Snapeydoodles? That's just wrong in all aspects of wrongness! Great post though!!! PAMS!

The Threat Part 2

Lily wasn't able to talk to Severus that day, or on Sunday because he kept avoiding her. But on Monday she finally cornered him before Transfiguration.
"Severus," she told him, "I know why you ran off before we did our tutoring, James told me."
"Than I guess you know why I can't be with you." said Severus
"Just because he threatened you when you were younger doesn't mean what he threatened to do to you was actually going to happen."
"He told me he'd sicc his dog on me."
"Really?" Lily asked, "What was it, a Beagle?"
"German shepherd." answered Severus
"Oh, well, it's not like he can do that to you now or then. Besides, it's not up to him if we can be friends or not. It's not our problem it's his. Also, if we were friends, I'm sure my friends-Besides James and Sirius-would think it's great to be your friend too. "
"I don't know, Lily."
"Well, just think about it." When Transfiguration started, Lily sat in a table up front so that she'll be able to pay attention in class. Keely came and sat with her. Severus sat behind them with Avery. In the middle of class, Severus gave Lily a note that read

You want to make up for the tutoring?

Lily turned to look at Severus, who was smiling, and mouthed, Yes.


Soon September changed to October and thanks to Lily's help, Severus's bad marks in Potions changed. That's not the only thing that changed, Keely and Remus had a change of heart towards Severus so they were a lot more kind to him.
"I really wish the month didn't change already." Remus said while he, Lily, Severus, and Keely were in the library.
"Why, I mean, there's always a feast on Halloween. And every year kids play pranks on one another."
"I wish I could tell you the reason, but I doubt you would really handle it. Hey, Lily, do you need help with your Transfiguration homework?" he added, obviously changing the subject. While they were doing their homework, James and Sirius watched them while they were looking for a book for History of Magic.
“I really don’t see what she sees in him.” said James.
“Maybe we should stay out of it, James.” Said Sirius, “Remember the last time we made her really angry?” he and James remembered when she turned them into toads after they changed her hair black.
“Yeah, but maybe if she thought we were actually just going on with the Halloween spirit then maybe she won’t be so angry.”
“I know that look, James Potter. What are you thinking?”
“I’m thinking maybe we should put a nice litter welcome for our new friend, Severus Snape.”

Chapter Nine: Pranks Part 1

On Halloween, the decorations in the Great Hall were hung; jack-o-lanterns floated in mid air, real bats flew around the Great Hall, and so many other decorations covered the walls.
"So you actually want to call a truce between yourselves and Severus?" Lily asked James and Sirius.
"Sure, I mean, you lot are hanging out with him and from what you guys keep telling us, he's a really cool guy. So we're thinking, 'What the hey, let's give the guy another chance.'"
“James, Sirius, this is so cool!” said Keely, “It’s so nice of you to give him another chance!”
“Hang on,” said Remus, “Something doesn’t seem right. Why are you suddenly interested in being Severus Snape’s friend?”
“Remus Lupin!” said Sirius, “Are you accusing us of doing something bad to Severus?”
Remus pretended to think for a moment and answered, “Yes.”
“Well, we’re not lying this time.” said James, “We’re not going to do anything bad to our dear new friend, Severus Snape. How about we prove it today after lunch, by the lake?”
“Okay,” said Lily, “We’ll be there.”

After lunch, James and Sirius waited for Lily, Keely, Severus, Remus, and Peter by the lake. While they waited, James asked Sirius, “Okay, so do you remember our plan?”
“Yeah.” Answered Sirius, he looked over James’s shoulder and saw Lily, Severus, Keely, Peter, and Remus coming over, “Here they come.”
“Hey, guys.” Said Lily, “Is there anything you’d like to say to Severus?”
“Hey, Sev. Sorry about how I trated you when we were younger.” said James, “I’m just hoping we’d put it all behind us and be friends, right Sirius?” he added looking at Sirius.
“Absolutely,” said Sirius, “Hey, is anybody up for some chocolate frogs?” he added holding up a small bag full of chocolate frogs. Lily, Severus, Remus, Keely, and Peter said “Yes” and “Thank you” and Sirius handed them out to everyone. When Severus took a bite out of his chocolate frog, instead of tasting chocolate, he instead tasted something disgusting; tuna mixed with cheese, he coughed it up, glad that he didn’t swallow it since he was allergic to fish. Lily looked at him to see what was wrong and noticed the frog
“What the hell did you do that for?” Lily exclaimed to James and Sirius
“Oh, sorry Sev,” said James, “We must have accidentally given you the one we got from Zonko’s Joke Shop. Why don’t you have some water?” he took out a bottle and conjured up some water to fill it up with and handed to Severus who said his thanks and drank some of it. When he took a drink out of it but some of it went down his front. Severus examined the bottle and saw a small hole beneath the mouth piece of the bottle.
“Guys, that trick is so old.” said Remus
“When are you two going to grow up?” asked Keely.
“Oh, sorry Severus.” sniggered Sirius and he pointed in a random direction, “Oi! What’s that over there?” Everyone except Remus and Keely looked away and Sirius and James shoved Severus into the lake. Severus surfaced and sputtered angrily at James and Sirius while they laughed.
“That was not funny!” Lilly yelled as she and Remus helped Severus out of the lake while James and Sirius laughed. Peter joined in on the laughter, but when he saw Keely’s glare he stopped immediately.
“Then why are we still laughing?” James asked and he and Sirius continued laughing.
“Come on, Severus,” said Keely, “Let’s get you out of these wet clothes.” Glaring at James and Sirius one last time, Severus left with Keely, Remus, and Peter.
“Catch you later, Snivelles!” James called after him and-
SMACK!
Lily smacked James and Sirius right across their faces and left without a word.

Chapter Ten: Holiday Stories Part 1

Lily and Keely didn't talk to James or Sirius for a whole month after what they did to Severus on Halloween. Remus kept telling James and Sirius to apologize to him, Lily, and Keely but James and Sirius kept refusing.
"There is no way that we'll apologize to that slime ball." Sirius said when they did their homework in the gryffindor common room.
"If you don't, then Lily and Keely will never speak to you again." said Remus
"Like we care." said James, "Lily's annoying and Keely may be cute, but not cute enough to apologize to on something like this."
Lily and Keely entered the Gryffindor common room, talking about what they'll be doing on the holidays. They looked at Remus and smiled, ignoring Sirius and James and went into the Girls Dormitory.

When the Holidays started, Lily, Keely, Peter, and Severus stayed at Hogwarts while Remus, James, and Sirius left for home. Sirius was staying with James because he didn't want to stay with his family for the holidays.

"Sirius, it's so great to see you again." Mia said, excitedly as soon as James and Sirius entered the Potters' home.
"It's great to see you too." Sirius said to her, smiling when she hugged him.
For most of the holidays, Mia always spent her time with James and Sirius. They didn’t mind because Mia was fun to be with. She would always tell great jokes and whenever they were bored she would make up fun activities for them to do. On Christmas evening during dinner, Mia asked James, “Does Severus Snape go to Hogwarts too?” James hesitated for a moment and said, “Yes, why?”
“It’s just that I haven’t seen him in years. Could you tell him that I said ‘Hello’?”
“I’ll be sure to tell him that.” James lied; he leaned towards to Sirius and muttered, “When Hell freezes over.” Fortunately for them Mia didn’t hear him.

The day James and Sirius had to go back to Hogwarts; Mia was trying very hard not to cry.
“Not only do I miss you a lot, I just get really lonely and bored here because dad’s always gone and I barely ever see mum because the Minister had her work extra hours. And I really don’t have anyone to spend time with because you two are at Hogwarts, and I don’t have any friends except Severus but he’s at Hogwarts too.”
”Don’t worry Mia,” said James, “We’ll come back for the Easter holidays. And you’ll be able to go to Hogwarts next year.”
“Yeah, time will go by quick.” said Sirius. Before they left the house, Sirius turned to her and added, “And we’ll send you a Hogwarts toilet seat.” Mia laughed and waved goodbye to them.

When James and Sirius came back to Hogwarts, Keely ran up to them.
“Guys, something terrible happened!” she said, looking scared.
“What happened?” Sirius and James asked at the same time.
“I’ll show you, come on.” She led James and Sirius to the Gryffindor common room.
“Pigs Snout.” Keely said before the Fat Lady could ask and the door for the Gryffindor common room opened. Keely, James, and Sirius ran inside when they heard Remus say to a concerned Lily, “I’m telling you, it’s nothing.”
“But your face…” Peter started to say.
“It’s nothing!” Remus snapped
“What about your face?” James asked. Remus turned to look at him and James and Sirius gasped; he had a black eye and a scar.

Holiday Stories Part 2

"What the bloody hell happened to your face?" James asked
Remus glared at him and said, "It's nothing, okay?"
"Remus, that's not nothing." said Sirius, "A small scratch is nothing, but this...is something."
"I keep telling you it's nothing!" said Remus furiously. He ran to the Boys Dormitory and slammed the door. James, Sirius, Keely, Lily, and Peter ran after him into the Boys Dormitory.
"Why won't you tell us?" Keely demanded when she entered the room and shut the door.
"I just can't, okay?" said Remus
"No, it's not okay." said Lily, "This is a very serious thing, Remus. Please, just tell us what's happening at home."
Remus hesitated and said, "Alright, I'll tell you. But you all have to swear that you won't tell anyone."
"We swear we won't." said Keely, "Now, just tell us what's going on at home." Remus sighed and said, "My father's a very violant man. He's been known to drink too much and be easily angered when things don't go his way. He hits me more than he does to my mum and sister put together."
"Why does he hurt you so much?" asked Lily with a terrified look on her face.
"Because um...well, it's like this..." Remus couldn't bring himself to say it. Keely gave Remus an encouraging smile and said, "Go on, Remus. I think they can handle it."
Remus sighed, nodded, and said, "He hurts me more because...I'm a werewolf."
"What?" James almost yelling in surprise
"When I was little, my father insulted a werewolf and on a full moon, a werewolf came to my house and attacked me. My father was very ashamed of having a werewolf for a son. Ashamed of me."
"Remus, you shouldn't be sad about this, your father should actually be ashamed of himself for what he did. If he didn't insult the werewolf in the first place, then you wouldn't be a werewolf right now."
"I know. And I also know that people are terrified of werewolves so if you lot don't want to be friends with me anymore, I understand."
Keely, Lily, James, Sirius, and Peter looked at Remus incredulously and James said, "Are you mental? We don't care that you're a werewolf, we wouldn't even care if you were Severus Snape, we would still be your friend!"
"Even if I was Severus Snape?" asked Remus
"Well, alright, if you were Severus Snape me and Sirius wouldn't but either way, you're still our friend no matter what."
"Remus, I've known that you were a werewolf for years and I still want to be friends with you." said Keely with a kind smile. Remus smiled at everyone, feeling lucky for having such great friends.
