Now that we've decided we're going to discuss the corruption in the Ministry, let's actually discuss it! First question, how did it happen?

- I think it happened much like corruption in any organization or business. Someone who is of importance, is easily persuadable, and loses his/her sense of direction. It's like a kinetic chain; if one link is messed up... everything is affected.


Note: i haven't finished the book yet, so I might not be here for another week or two. My classes end on August 16th; so after that I will have more time to finish reading

I think that the corruption started out of fear. Fear is a very powerful motivator that can work for good or evil.

Hey guys ... I have an announcement to make! I've been Co-President of this fan club since the beginning, and I've been active in it since then too ... for about ... yeah, wow, over a year now! ... and ... I've stepped up and I am now the club sponsor! Corruption in the Ministry!

I shall start with a quote (again): "Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely."

Wise words indeed.

So, this must be the first step in corruption. Power. To hold power is to be given a ticking time bomb of corruption-- as the power grows, so does the corruption.

Corruption has existed for as long as power has existed. Empires have thrived and fallen from it. Cities have been built up only to crumble.... and so it goes without saying that power erm.... dooms us all for lack of a better word.

So. There it is. Step one: Obtain power.

Now, corruption is easiest in those who have power, but there are many factors that contribute. Fear and paranioa are definately helpful pills to swallow because they are like blindfolds. People can't see past the layers of fabric that shield them from the truth.

Sometimes, the world is black and white. But most of the time, it's that fine gray line that seperates the two; the line where black and white meet to create a chaotic and confusing world. This is what most people ignore. It's easier to see in Black and White. It makes things simple. It splits things into two halves.

In some cases: Good and Bad.

So...power is the first drop of corruption, then fear and paranioa comes to play.


When Fugdge heard that Voldemort had returned, he couldn't believe it. Why? Because it risked his perfect world. His world would be thrown out of balance and people would be frightened. And this had happened under his nose? Under his Ministry's nose!!!!???? Good heavens! He'd be thrown out of office!

No it's clear, Dumbledore wants his place. He is spreading lies.... and thus.... Fugdge spread his own. Harry Potter and Albus Dumbledore became the scapegoats of a paranoid politician.

Blasted laptop! It's out to get me!

Anywho....Now then.

So, now Fugde tries, and succeeds for a time, in discrediting Harry and Dumbledore. The scapegoats.

Of course, had he listened to Dumbledore things probably would have gone better. Voldemort laid low for as long as he could. He made Fudges lies true just by doing nothing.

Fudge and his sicophants were easily targeted. Subterfuge could take place in the Ministry because they only saw power and those who wanted to take it!

Fugdge was bearing down-- using his power to influence.

Once he lost his power the blindfold was taken off and suddenly, he saw that the world was as grey as my crayon. Possibly more so.

My laptop, being the prat it is, has taken my zeil for this out of me for the time being-- which is saying something since I wrote so much! I s'posse it's best we're all grateful I didn't take up a whole page with my rantings!

I shall of course return with my fire later.
