I think he was probably forgiven a bit for what he had done, considering they helped to save Harry's life. Maybe he went back home to focus his time on Draco and learn how to be a better father.

If Lucius hadn't had a son he probably would have been pretty much the same. He would have still been a DE, of course, but he might not have left their cause. Then again, he probably would, because he is a self preservationist, after all!

I don't think Harry would have survived if Draco wasn't around. He's the one that made his parents stop and think. He wouldn't of had anything to lose.

I don't think Lucius will feel bad for all the things he did, if Draco wouldn't born. Thinking about Draco, that he might die, made him turn a little better than he was. I think he would be different. He'd stivk with Voldemort till the end, and he would probably die.

I agree that he wouldn't have cared about much other than improving his position with Voldie. He would have died for him. It was Draco that made him a bit more human. That kind of makes me wonder what would have happened if Voldemort had a child that was in the middle of all of the fighting.

The whole situation would have changed if Lucius didn't have a son. First of all, when Lucius was in azkaban, as revenge, Voldemort gave Draco an assignment to kill Dumbledore. This would not have happened, if there was no child. With that said, then Draco never would have been the master of the elder wand; Snape most like would have been. And thus, if Snape was master, then titles would have transferred when Voldemort killed Snape. If Voldemort killed Snape, then Harry wouldn't have much a chance against the "deathstick". Therefore, because Draco was such a crucial part of the plotline, the story would need to be completely changed without him.

Wow! Very good, Jess. Do you think Voldemort would have done as much with Lucius if he hadn't had Draco? Like, do you think he would have focused on another DE who had a child at Hogwarts? We don't know who all the Death Eaters are, so it is possible others had kids the same age as Harry.

Great answer! I agree, and also there would have been no way for Tom Riddle's diary to have gotten into the school, because Lucius wouldn't of had that connection between Harry and Draco to chance an oppurtunity to put the diary into Ginny's couldron. It seems that most of the HP story wouldn't have made sense if the presence of Draco had been cut out.

It also might have been more difficult for Snape and Lucius to keep contact, with Snape working at Hogwarts. Even though they both would have been a part of the DE's, there still wouldn't have been that mutual contact of Draco to really keep anything going between them, outside of what Voldemort had them doing.
