- What if the Dark Lord had won, how would it have affected Lucius and the Malfoy's?
- If the Dark Lord had won, a part of me says that Lucius and his family would have returned to the "dark side". The Dark Lord's sole goal was to defeat Harry, and I doubt he'd want anymore pureblood spilled than needed. He would kill only those who tried to resist his movement.

I never really saw them as pure evil, and definitely no where near Voldemort's level of it. A part of me wonders if they would possibly serve some sort of punishment, since everything would be said and done, because of Draco not following through with Voldemort's wishes. I realize that Dumbledore was indeed killed, but still, it wasn't the way that Voldemort had wanted it. A part of me also feels that the Malfoy's loyalty to Voldemort is not as thorough as they'd like people to believe. So I wonder how 'peacefully' they'd be able to live after the fact...

I agree, I never thought of the Malfoys as being murderers like Voldemort or Bellatrix. They are arrogant purebloods, true, but I think they would rather lord it over people than kill them. Of course Lucius would've stayed on the dark side if Voldemort had won, he knows to stay on the side that's winning is the smartest thing to do. He looks out for himself, after all!

I also think that Lucius would have supported what ever side won in the end. He's just out for himself and what will gain him the most power. It was nice to see that he cared for his family in the end. I wasn't sure for a little bit. | |
