Possible discussion topic: I've thought about this and it seems kind of obvious on the surface but still I can't help but wonder - Do you think Bellatrix felt any kind of emotion when she killed her cousin Sirius and her niece Tonks, other than what she showed? Do you suppose she might have felt any sort of remorse, pain or regret that she covered up, no matter how deeply it may have been? What are your thoughts on this? | |

I think Bellatrix did feel some remorse when she killed Sirius. I think she saw Sirius as being a beautiful extension of the Black bloodline and had thought him to have great potential since they were young. I think she secretly hoped that he would one day rejoin his family and live up to his pureblood potential. Seeing as killing him would eliminate all possibility of this ever happening, I think she was a little sad to have murdered him. | |

Just a wild guess...but can Bellatrix take the first Order of the Phoenix members?
Hmm...I'm not sure if she did feel remorse about killing Sirius of Tonks. True Sirius was the last black, but I think she viewed him and Tonks more as a blood traitor and deserving of the same fate as the rest of them. |

Yes, that's probably true. Most likely she did think of them more as blood traitors than as members of her family, the Death Eater lifestyle had been so deeply ingrained into her way of thinking by that time. She had become so ruthless but maybe she did regret killing Sirius, at least a little bit.

I don't think she felt any remorse for killing her cousins. She is like Voldemort in that way that she was slowly losing her grip with her soul. Not that she was creating horcruxes or anything, but she could have if she wanted to. She was losing her humanity I guess that is a better word. | |
