I agree, I think Ab continued to run the pub and raise goats because those are the things he loved. I was speculating about if he ever found a woman and settled down with a family, and somehow I just don't see it happening, though I could be wrong. I think he did stay with the Order because it was something he believed in. | |

I think he would want to protect his family above all else. He would be conflicted on that, because he would be willing to risk his life for the Order, I just don't think he would want to put his family in danger. I think he would do everything he could to keep that from happening. (Look what he did with Ariana. He is obviously a man who cares very deeplly about family.)
I really wish we knew more about Ab, if he was married, if he had kids, etc. JKR left out so many things, but that just gives us more to imagine and speculate about. Maybe that's why she did it, in the long run!

He really was a true Gryffindor at heart, I really believe that. Very courageous and firely loyal, especially to his family.
There was so much left out, so many questions, that I would love to see an extended epilogue on all the characters who survived, as well as their children. Wouldn't that be nice? Make it around 1,000 pages and I'll be satisfied. | |
