And another discussion: Do you think he hated Grindelwald, or just dislike him, cus she seduced Albus into Dark Magic?

Yeah.. Hate seems to fit that. I'm very sure Aberforth hated Grindelwald, understandably. He probably thought of the guy to be the reason his brother changed, for the worest at that point. If Grindelwald never stepped into the picture, they probably would have never lost Ariana. Family seems important to Ab.. Along with goats.

If we need another discussion, since quite afew people already answered, I could come up with it, or atleast try.. ^__^ I just need mizz Maya or anyone what discussions have already been done. Since I plan to go back and check.. I want to be sure .

We all know the whole Grindelwald and dark magic thing sort of tore Ablus and Aberforth apart. But, much before that, when they were kids before even Albus started school, do you think it was similar to what it is now? Or do you think they actually got along..? ^___^

Well, we all know family was the most important thing for Aberforth. HE took care for Arian when Albus left, and it meant the world to him. So, I guess when they were children they got a long well. I think Aberforth wanted to pretct them all - Ariana, Albus and their mother.

I do believe that Albus and Aberforth were very close when they were younger, and that Grindelwald played a huge part in tearing them apart. Family was the main thing to Ab and he loved his sister Ariana dearly, so when Albus started neglecting his duties to her and became infatuated with the dark side with Grindelwald, it was too much for him.

Well, that's my take, anyway!

As for the discussion. I pretty much agree with everyone else, I think that he was verrry close with Albus when they were younger. And that, in a way, they were best freinds too. But then Grindelwald came along, and not only was Albus leaving his family duties, I think that Aberforth thought that Albus was ditching Ab. not only as a brother, but as a dear freind too. And that's what infuriated him.

Woah. I'm the only one to disagree.. Don't hurt me.
I have to disagree.. though Aberforth was very close to his family, I think Albus was the exception. When they were very young, sure. But once Albus started school I think it was all down hill from there on, Wasn't it said somewere that Aberforth didn't like how everyone thought his brother was completely brilliant, ect? Or maybe It wasn't? I honestly have no idea, that could have very well been my imagination. Anyways, I still have to disagree.. Grindelward was most of the problem, but not all of it. I think Aberforth cared more for his sister, then brother, because of family things; how Albus behaved and whatnot. I think it had probably always been that way.., Although losing Ariana had effected Aberforths anger towards Albus, I don't think Grindelward could have caused ALL of that, nor losing Ariana. Alot, sure, but it had to be more then that. But, thats just my opinion.

Hmmm, an interesting point has been raised. Albus and Aberforth were definitely different in persnoality, and that may well have been part of the problem from the very beginning (though I certainly don't think that Grindewald helped the situation.) This is something I never thought about, but it makes perfect sense!
