314. Abers was extremely courageous!

I think he resented Grindelwald more than hated him, at least before Ariana's death, because of his ability to distract Dumbledore. Whether or not that escalated to hatred after Ariana's death, it is entirely possible, though I feel like he blamed Albus more because he should have known better, at least in Aberforth's view.

I think the main reason he hated Grindelwald was because he had turned his brother's head away from what he was supposed to be doing, helping take care of their sister and being responsible. He knew that Grindelwald was involved in dark magic, and that didn't help things, either. So, he had to use force in order to teach his brother Albus some sense!

But, I do think Aberforth hated Grindelwald. I think Ab felt he was left to do the job with Ariana by himself because Albus ditched him for this guy that was into the Dark Arts and stuff like that. I think he was mad at Albus for ditching his own family for someone like that, and that's why Aberforth hated Grindelwald.
