Level Four Reception Sit down, pull up a chair, grab a refreshment sitting on the table, or perhaps a magazine and someone will be with you shortly. |
Lisa! <3 This was Bambi's fourth day at her job, and so far she's having the absolute time of her LIFE! Everyone's so awfully cute and sweet to her back at her division, the coffee is acceptable if she adds her secret ingredient (nutmeg, people, nutmeg makes everything better, all year round), and, oh, the wonder of the Ministry itself! She'd taken to exploring the levels on her breaks, preferring to munch on a muesli bar and roam instead of eating a heavy lunch that will make her sleepy. One slightly less exciting thing about this job was that it was... hard. To do. The magic involved........ it was no joke, and Bambi hadn't been required to push herself to her magical limitations since she graduated from the Athens branch of Wizarding University. But no matter! She's eating healthy, she's running every morning, her daughter makes her drawings every morning for good luck, Bambi Ackerly's life is fantastic! She'll manage this too. She will. In the meantime, the floor she was exploring today was one floor above from her own. And this was a doubly excellent choice, since she'll have to work with certain people from the Environmental Permitting office. Oh, such fun! She's being so... so.. productive! Yes! That's the word! Bambi Ackerly, productive and helping British Wizardry nationwide! |

She WAS the boss now, after all. She could do that. Despite the fact that she had temporarily put the plant to sleep so she wouldn't have to worry about it while moving it back into the greenhouse, Olly slowed down a little when she spotted someone who was NOT an employee of Level 4. Should she walk past quickly so she could repot the plant before it woke up? Should she wait for the woman to leave? Or should she maybe do the polite thing and ask why she was down here. Probably the latter, right? "Hello." Why was nobody else around right now? "Can I help you with something?" |
Quote:
No matter, she would still be absolutely polite and excitable and Bambi! "Oh, not particularly no, I just came to look if that's alright?" she replied, chipper as ever. "But thank you! I'm new here, I work one floor up, on Level 3. I'm Bambi Ackerly.. I'd shake your hand but you seem busy," she added with a smile, nodding at the plant. |

Olly made a mental note to talk to Cole about this. Back to the young woman in front of her though. Look? Uhm. "What are you looking for?" This wasn't exactly a level where you should venture into random rooms after all. There were quite dangerous creatures and plants around, even if those rooms were triply secured now. "Pleasure." From Level 3 she said? "I'm Olly Emmons-Clarke. I'm the Environmental Department Head." She nodded behind her in the general direction of her office. |

"Just want to familiarise myself with the layout of the ministry, especially the levels I'll be working with on occasion," Bambi answered cheerfully, white teeth on full display. Isn't this such fun? Exploring a new workplace, meeting new people, meeting influential people who helped run the wizarding world... Oh. WOW. Speaking of influential people! "It's an honour to meet you Mrs Emmons-Clarke!" she glanced back and, not really seeing anything in the direction of what she'd nodded towards, turned back and again moved to try and shake her hand, but her plant was still there. "I'm so sorry I'm keeping you," she added with an apologetic expression, feeling more than a little out of place now. Had never thought she'd run into a department head this early! It's a shame, she seemed really nice. But surely heads of entire departments within the ministry of magic didn't mingle with new employees of departments they weren't even head of. Bambi certainly understood seniority. |

Accepting the woman's answer with a nod, Olly wasn't entirely sure how to take Bambi's next sentence. An HONOR? Really? If she hadn't been in this particular setting, Olly would have probably laughed. What was she supposed to say to that? Thank you? Point out that it was waaaaaay over the top? Instead of either of those options she simply gave Bambi a small smile. That would do, yeah? "You're not keeping me." Well, she was, in a way. But Olly didn't particularly mind it at the moment. "It's still asleep. So we should be fine a little while longer." Hopefully. No, she knew what she was doing. |

She peered curiously at the plant but kept her distance, both out of respect and a little fear. She wasn't very good with plants, barely managing to keep the ones she had at home alive, let alone magical plants of probably a very high level of danger. She'd keep her distance, thank you very much. "You're very kind," she said, and smiled brightly. "How long have you worked at the Ministry, if I may ask?" |

And Olly didn’t really know what to do with them. So she smiled. Again. Glad to have something else to talk about, she then quickly nodded to what Bambi said next. Yes, of course she was allowed to ask. Merlin’s Beard, did this sort of politeness towards her come with the department head title? She was going to have to get used to that. “Ten years. I started ten years ago.” Wow, that was a long time, wasn’t it? |
Quote:
Bambi's eyes widened. Sure, she wanted a steady job and to make Ariadne and Layla proud, and obviously herself too but... TEN YEARS. That's a long time. Ten years ago she'd started Hogwarts. How odd. "That's very impressive. You must really care for the environment," she smiled, and nodded at the plant in her hand. The world certainly needs more people who care about such things, and not only themselves. |
Quote:
Maybe she should write to Emmalee to thank her. Back to Bambi for now though. "I- yeah. I enjoy working here." OBVIOUSLY. Otherwise she wouldn't have agreed when she'd been offered the position of department head, right? "I hope you will, too." And if she didn't, maybe she could just transfer to Olly's department if she was qualified. "What's your position on level three?" Just curious. |
Quote:
As for her job description, that's a bit of a mouthful. "I'm on the Invisibility task force," Bambi said, pride evident in her voice. From "airhead model" to THIS? Such a wonderful brain glow-up. "I'm an unplottable structures specialist, that's why I said I might need to work with your department," reading through the fine details about the job had been difficult (read: mind-numbingly boring and so long) but it had been worth it, since now she could follow up with: "I'll work with the Environmental Permitting division, since it's closely related to what I do." |
Quote:
Olly didn't know what the invisibility task force did so she was consequently quite glad that Bambi went on to elaborate. Oh, right. That division had not really been under her jurisdiction before she was appointed department head. Good thing this woman had come here on her own then. Although, she trusted her employees to know what they were doing, though, and who they were supposed to be cooperating with. "I'm currently looking for someone to head the Regulation division but I'm sure they'll be very cooperative anyway. If you want to introduce yourself some time, they're over there." She gestured into the general direction of where the permitting officers were situated inside their cubicles. "I think Astara Hornebolt is here right now. She's new but she knows what she's doing." Olly gave the other woman a small smile. Nonetheless, she was hoping that the Minister would allow her to hire at least one more person for that division. She REALLY needed a Regulation Division Head. |
ten billion years later Quote:
"Perhaps I should go over there now? Let you get back to.." Bambi glanced at the plant again, slightly worried it'll stir from its slumber, "what you were previously doing. Introduce myself and whatnot? It seemed like a marvelous idea to her. This way, she wouldn't have time to forget what Olly Emmons-Clarke had said. |
Quote:
Olly nodded and gave the other woman a polite smile. "Sounds good. I'm sure they'll appreciate that." She shifted the potted plant in her arms a little and took a small step back. "And my office is down there." Gesturing with her elbow was harder than it looked but somehow she managed to do it. "If you ever need anything." Or if she wanted to come by some time. |
Thea and one Mr Kennedy! - Visitor here. It seemed weird to walk through the halls of the Ministry; a building where so many of his cousins, extended family and friends worked but that he, as of yet, had never been to. He hadn’t had a reason too. His Dads had adopted him when he was still a minor so they had filled in the forms without him - all nice and easy like since his biological parents had been- well, they hadn’t been worth anything… and the adoption had come after years of being their foster kid. So there really hadn’t been a fight on any side. Which had been nice - and the name change to Eris had been even more welcome. But… he wasn’t here to look at the fancy building and Darcy had given him instructions on how to get from the atrium (where he had weighed and had his wand checked) through to the lifts and then on to the correct level. Level Four. Home of the Department of Magical Creatures. Though he wouldn’t be finding his cousin’s face there. No, Darcy Pascal was on level Three. Accident and Catastrophes and had been since before he (that was he, himself, Sloane) had graduated Hogwarts. Heh. Time flew when you were living with Dragons. Who knew, if this meeting went well, perhaps he would bring Darcy a hot coffee before he went to visit his Dads. With a good thought sent out into the atmosphere to his kind cousin |
