Hey y'all! I've tried writing a few times but ultimately gave up so hopefully this one'll stay!

Chapter One-Introductions
Charlotte Gates awoke to the sudden drawback of her curtains. As she opened her eyes, reluctantly, the sun's bright morning beams flooded her room. She sat up and saw her twin brother Liam standing by the closest window with a mischevious grin on his face-- a trademark of his. "Well good morning, sleepyhead...you look pleasant. Still tired?" he greeted her with a hint of a sarcastic tone. "Yeah well after trekking around half of Ireland with you yesterday, I have a reason to be." she replied with a shake of her auburn hair. She yawned and stretched her arms towards the sky before pushing back her invitingly warm covers and sliding onto her cold bedroom floor. "Well I'm guessing you'd like some breakfast then?" Liam asked her as she searched the floor for her slippers. "No, I'm alright for now--" she said and he exclaimed, "That's great because I'd thought we'd go to our favorite hideout for the day...I've already packed a picnic basket in the kitchen." Charlotte was silent for a moment and then said, "I suppose that would be fun, let's just make sure we stay away from her or she'll make us do chores like last week." Charlotte was referring to her father's new wife Giselle LeBoeuf who had arrived in the town that they lived near with a special assignment for the Ministry of Magic and the two fell in love. Giselle hated children especially the twins and she did everything in her power to make their lives miserable. Thankfully, a short week from the present date, Charlotte and Liam would be shipped off to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. But until the time arrived, the two siblings tried to stay out of the house as much as possible, sometimes visiting the town close to their castle, other times explorting the vast miles of woods that were just in their backyard. Charlotte and Liam, finally ready to leave hurridly sneaked out the back door of their kitchen before Giselle realized they were awake.

Just a bit of a hint, but if you're having a conversation between two people, it is easier to read if you post like this:

It just makes it easier to tell who is speaking. Apart from that, it's fantastic!

Chapter Two- A Strange Meeting
The two walked in silence enraptured in their own thoughts as the rest of the

world came alive with the chirping of birds and the buzzing of summer bugs.

Charlotte heard a faint chime of a bell behind her and turned to see a frisky

kitten coming cautiously towards her.

“Hello Tink!” Charlotte said as she scooped

the kitten up in her arms. The cat started purring loudly as Charlotte

continued walking and scratching the space between her pet’s ears. Liam

rolled his eyes wondering why his sister was so attached to this young kitten

they found earlier in the summer.

Finally, Liam and Charlotte reached a batch of trees where past it s low

branches revealed a small cove with a lapping river running past. The siblings

smiled at each other as if to read one another’s minds. Charlotte went to an

apple tree and leaned her back against its trunk as she took a drawing pad

out of her bag and began to doodle lazily. Tinker Belle, having escaped her

mistress’ clutches, began practicing on any unfortunate insect that happened

to fly by and Liam headed cautiously towards the river to see if any sort of

interesting creature could be seen in the sun-bathed water.

All was peaceful for sometime until Charlotte noticed Tinker staring at a

certain spot past the low branches. The kitten growled and then pounced

and Charlotte heard a boy’s voice say, “Get off me you

demon cat! Bloody ‘ell! Get off me!” Charlotte rushed over to

the voice as Liam came racing up the bank. As Charlotte pulled back he first

branch, she saw that her pet had discovered a boy about their age who had

been spying on the pair.

“Tink get off!” Charlotte exclaimed as Liam

stepped towards the boy protectively. The latter stood up quick as a flash

and positioned himself in a defensive stance as if waiting for something else

to attack him.

“Is that how you train your animals? To attack innocent

people like myself?” the stranger asked hurtfully.

“Is it so wrong to attack when danger is involved?”

Liam replied coldly giving the boy and even icier stare. The boy walked a

step towards Liam and rising to his full height replied,

“Who’s to say I’m dangerous then?”

“No one is, you just caught us off guard is all.”

said Charlotte stepping in between the two boys. “My

name is Charlotte Gates and this is my brother Liam. Who are you?”

“The name’s Charlie Murphy…me and me da just moved

here from Dublin. He wanted a little bit of country like when he grew up…are

you two wizards? I’m just guessing…” Charlie asked finally saying

what Charlotte and Liam had been wondering for the short time they’ve know

him. “Yes,” began Charlotte,

“we live not too far away from here with our father and our stepmother.”

Charlotte nudged Liam in the side to say something.

“Yeah” he said nodding. Charlotte rolled her eyes.

‘Boys, always jealous of each other…’

she though to herself. “Well it’s nice to meet you

Charlotte.” Said Charlie with a small smile hat made Charlotte’s

stomach flip over. “And you too, Liam.” He

continued with a slight nod. “I’m sure I’ll see you around

but I must be off.” And with another of his secret smiles, he

disappeared back in the midst of the trees. Charlotte smiled sheepishly until

he was out of view and then turned and his Liam hard on the arm.

“Ow! What the bloody hell was that for?” he said

rubbing his reddened arm. “You know perfectly well what

that was for…why do you always have to be so grudging cover every boy

who looks my way? Charlie is a perfectly nice boy!” she replied

hotly. “There’s just something that doesn’t feel quite right

about him…I can’t describe what…” Liam replied with a frown.

“Well don’t be so rude because right now he’s your first friend

besides me going into Hogwarts…” and without another sound,

Charlotte scooped up Tinker Belle who gave a reluctant “Meow!” and went

deeper into the secluded area.

Brilliant post!

Now about this guy. I don't know whether to like him or not. Liam doesn't think he's good, but Charlotte likes him. But if he's good looking Charlotte will like him anyways!

Hey guys! So sorry this post took so long but im very analytical of myself and i wanted it to be just right. It's a bit short but very benefitial to Charlotte and Liam's characters throughout the story...ENJOY!!!

Chapter Three- The Discovery

The next week went by in a flash and finally the day arrived for the Gates

twins to start their first day at Hogwarts. Like always, Charlotte was ready

three hours in advance and was helping her incredibly disorganized brother

pack everything he owned into one suitcase. “C’mon Liam you

do not need this Rugby shirt, you’ve already got about six packed already!”

she exclaimed. “Alright Lottie, leave it on my bed.”

And as Charlotte turned her back to grab a pair of shorts, Liam

stuffed the shirt into his suitcase a smirk starting to show on his freckled

face. Charlotte picked up a picture frame with a moving picture of her

parents on their wedding day. ‘They were so happy

then.’ She thought as she began to fiddle with her charm

necklace. It began to glow much to Charlotte’s surprise and when she turned

to face Liam, she could see that his had begun to glow as well.

“Bloody hell!” Liam said looking in awe. As Charlotte

put the picture down, the stones began to soften to their normal state.

“Th-that was strange!” Charlotte stammered as she

looked down at her necklace. She knew it was charmed and often glowed

faintly when she was happy but never this bright. “It must

have to do with feeling love, or any other strong emotion.”

Charlotte suggested. “Then why did my bloody charm light up

as well?” Liam exclaimed. [color="Blue"]“Well…they must be

connected by some sort of spell that lets us know how we’re feeling. Here,

let’s experiment…do you remember how you felt when you first met Charlie

last week?” [/COLOR]“Yes, I bloody well do!” Liam

responded through gritted teeth. Within a few seconds, his charm gleamed a

brilliant red. Charlotte looked down to see that hers was also shining an

identical shade of read. Charlotte grabbed her notebook and for the next half

hour, she and Liam came up with a key of emotions:

Red- Angry Purple- Scheming

Silver- Love Blue- Sadness

Gold- Joyous Green- Jealousy

Black- Frightened

Charlotte made two copies of the list, and handing one to Liam, said

[color="Blue"]“Here, now even if we’re separated in different Houses, we’ll

know how the other one is doing. It’s like being able to read each others

minds.” [/COLOR]“Yeah and it’ll come in handy if that

Murphy boy keeps on hanging around Lottie.” Liam thought to

himself. “Liam…” Charlotte warned seeing that her

charm had turned purple for scheming. “What? I was just…”

“Never mind!” she said interrupting him.

“C’mon we’ve got to get this stuff together so we won’t be

late.” And the two began to hurriedly finish packing up Liam’s things.

Hey Guys!! Sorry it's taken me so long to post but I've been really busy with exams in science ((just got a 94!!!!)) Anyways here's another addition to my delightful tale. Hope you enjoy it and please leave any comments/concerns etc.

Ch. 4 The Train Ride to Hogwarts

The trip to King's Cross wasn't anything out of the ordinary, for a wizard that

is, as the quartet of Liam, Charlotte, their father Niall, and Giselle Apparated

(Liam and Charlotte were Side-Apparated) in front of the bustling station

with their various pieces of luggage. After passing through to Platfor 9 3/4,

the siblings stared in awe around at their fellow classmates, the Hogwarts

Express, etc. until their father snapped them back to reality with giving each

a hug and words of encouragement. Giselle only sneered as she held tightly

to Niall's arm and the two Disapparated on the spot. "Well we'd better get on

the train then." said Charlotte bossily and she lead the way onto the

Hogwarts Express. With the picnic basket holding Tinker Belle in her arms,

Charlotte searched for any sort of compartment that appeared empty. She

finally saw one where inside was three students that looked to be about their

age and an unconscious man who must've been a teacher. Charlotte opened

the door and nervously asked, "Excuse me, do you mind if me and my brother

sit here?" The boy with messy brown har gave a cheery smile and said, "Not

at all, please come in." Charlotte grinned as she and Liam took their seats

next to the sleeping man. "I'm Charlotte Gates and this is my twin brother

Liam." Charlotte explained. "It's nice to meet you Charlotte--Liam (Liam

nodded in acknowledgement) This is Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, and I'm

Harry Potter." At the last name Liam's jaw dropped and Harry grinned and

said, "Yeah, I get that a lot." Charlotte rolled her eyes at her brother's lack

of manners and said "Well it's nice to meet you as well. We're going to be in

Year 3 but we've never been to Wizarding School before becasue my father's

work causes him to move around a lot." After finishing this sentence,

compartment door opened slowly revealing a shorter boy with bleach blonde

hair followed by two muscly boys and to the twins' surprise--Charlie Murphy.

The last boy gave Charlotte a casual wink which caused Liam's ears to

redden and their charms began to grow a violent red. Charlotte gave him a

warning look just as the boy began to speak. "Well if it isn't Potty, Weasel,

and the Mudblood. And who're you two?" he asked looking over at Charlotte

and Liam. "We're Charlotte and Liam Gates and we're coming into--" "I don't

need your whole life story thank you very much." the boy so rudely

interupted. Charlotte opened her mouth in disgust as the boy continued,"I'm

Draco Malfoy and you should learn to pick your friends more wisely. These

three won't get you anywhere in or after Hogwarts. I can help you there. I

don't know if any of these three've told you yet but I sort of run the school

as it were." The Draco looked very pleased with himself but his mood

suddenly evaporated as Ron let out a very loud snort. "Got something to say

now do we Weasel?" Malfoy said. "No...nothing Malfoy" Ron said as he tried

to stifle a laugh. "You'd better watch it Weaselbee...it's a good thing there's

a teacher in here or I'd..." "Or you'd what?" Liam said standing in between

Malfoy and Ron. Without another word the four boys left the compartment.
