Zero Kinglsey is just a normal looking boy attending Hogwarts. He may have cold skin, long fangs, and white hair, but still, he eludes everyone with telling them he's normal. Well, this is the life and times of Zero.
Year 1643
Paris, France
I was born this year, and all I remembered was going to one home to the next. Having a nice lady pick me up and smother me in her arms. Then a bunch of other faces all taking care of me. This was the year Louis II de Bourbon got success at the battle of Rocroic, and I, Zero Kingsley, was born vampire.
Year 1648
I found out when I was five, when I was in a rather decrepit place, also known as a city shelter for young boys, that my mother left me on the street, bundled up in nothing but a fur coat, which later the shelter sold off for money, and that she didn’t want me. My father found out about me, and left my mum, and she loved my father, but for her to keep him by her side, she had to give up me.
And with no haste, I landed on the street. I was picked up by strange people, the lady at this shelter said, because she found me nibbling on this woman’s finger, who just happened to pick me up. I hadn’t gotten my fangs yet, so I couldn’t draw blood.
The lady who found me put up descriptions of me on the lamplights and no one came to get me. So I stayed there and she cared for me. She doesn’t care for me anymore, because she got married and quit working here, but I at least have a new lady to take care of me.
The nurses found out what my problem was, after I refused to drink milk or eat food. They thought I was a demon child, but the nice lady knew I wasn’t. She let me drink from her wrist when I was hungry. She told the new lady, and she was fine with it, so it works.
None of the other boys here want to play with me. I don’t really care. I just want someone to love me.
I like to stay up while all the others sleep. I like to draw in the dirt with a stick and make pictures of things I see. A tree. A dog. A boy with fangs like me. Someone different. Not the same as others. Someone... odd. |

He was born a vampire, eh? Well that's a new one - I tend to stick with the Vampire ideal that you must be changed, not born, but to each their own ^__^
Amazing that, in the 1600s, a lady could find him, know what he was and not have him killed. Oh the goodness of peoples' hearts. :]

February, 1679
One year later
My lady bought me something for my sixth birthday, which is the fifth of February. She was very nice and she made me porridge for morning. I ate it with haste and then went off to draw in the dirt. She stopped me though.
“Zero, I have a present for you.” She said, ever so kindly. She had her hands behind her back holding something that was wrapped up in butcher paper.
I smiled and toddled over to her. I didn’t know what a present was, so I was naturally curious. I smiled at her. “Yes, miss lady?”
She handed me the package and I just looked at it. What do I do? Open it up? I shrugged and tore the butcher paper off into pieces and looked down on a stack of parchment paper. I had never seen it in my life, so I steadily traced my fingers down it in awe. It was so… soft.
“Zero, there is something else too,” she smiled down on me and handed me a block of black charcoal. All I had known about charcoal was that ladies put it on their eyes to make them look appealing.
“What do I do with it?” I asked.
She let out a light laugh, it sounded pretty. “You use the charcoal to draw on the parchment.”
This was just what I had been wanting. No more drawing in the dirt, only to be stepped on and kicked. Now I can save it on paper.
This was my first happy birthday.
I snuck out into the night from the kitchen back door and scurried down the cobbled streets of Paris. I had never been outside the shelter. Everything was so… bright and illuminating. It started to hurt my eyes. Giant furred beasts clapped with boxes full of people down the street.
I dodged out of the way and walked by a very dim lit café. I jumped up on a chair and placed my paper on the small table and started to trace my charcoal in the shape of an eye. Eyes were my favorite things to draw, besides dogs and trees. | |

Well, Zero's family was born into a breed of genetically enduced beings aka Vampires. I don't want to give it all away just yet.

| They do! Zero just out of nowhere started talking to me about his past. I was like, "FANFIC TIMMME." XD
There are so many different things about Vampires and the changing and being born theories. Zero's family was from a strict pureblood line. :]
