Hey everyone

It's Jemma (Sabrina_Snape) here with Siobhan (hermoine03). The story plot was thought up by Siobhan, so it should be very good and fun to read. We hope you like the fic!

This is the story of the Sullivan family from Donegal, Ireland and their experiences both at home and at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. There are three children: Abigail, Ryan, and Liam. Ryan and Abigail are twins and Liam is their younger brother. The twins are 16 years old and are going into their 6th year of Hogwarts while Liam is 14 and going into his 4th year. Their family is somewhat normal, though their father, Thomas, has remarried since the death of their mother 13 years prior. Their new stepmother, Aurelia Richer, attempts to be nice to the children in front of their father but when he’s away for business at the Ministry of Magic, she treats them very horribly often making them do tons of chores and answer to her beck and call. They often are able to escape from her by acting horribly back, playing various tricks and pranks upon their dear stepmother which often causes the children hours of exile away from their castle that is secluded from the Muggle community.

All three are in Ravenclaw House as was their parents were, but each have their various personalities which causes confusion amongst others as to how they possibly could be related. Abigail can be described as being the loudest as well as the one with the least amount of temper control. These two traits are the biggest causes for her punishments particularly with Aurelia who believes in the old-fashioned saying of, “Children should be seen not heard.” Whereas, Abigail believes that action and modern thinking is how a person makes a name for themselves which she hopes to do once she finishes up her education. Her twin Ryan, on the other hand, is much shyer often secluding himself just to draw which is usually how he expresses his various emotions. He, unlike his sister, is even-tempered and is able to hide his emotions easily from others. He hopes to become a successful painter or author after he leaves Hogwarts, much to the dismay of his father who wishes him to pursue a career within the Ministry of Magic just as he had done. The youngest Sullivan, Liam is a sort of mixture of his older siblings. Like his sister, he has a fiery temper and a tendency to prank others, but like Ryan, Liam enjoys the romantic arts of reading poetry, drawing, and writing: a habit that all the three of the Sullivan children have taken up at the request of their father who feels it important to write down their past experiences for remembrance years later.

And so as they start the summer, they will begin a journal together and depict their various experiences and adventures, romances, and hardships.

RULES OF THE JOURNAL:
1. You must write in the journal at lease once for four days
2. Do not read others journal entries for it is their privacy and should only be shared if the situation arises or if the person gives permission.
3. This journal is supposed to preserve memories of one of our last summers together as children. DO NOT MAKE THIS FOOLISH!

My brothers and I have decided to begin this journal in order to remember a summer that we hope will change our lives for the better. After a difficult year at Hogwarts, this break from school feels more well deserved than previous years and now we will be able to spend as much time together as we used to when we were younger. Perhaps I should describe myself to you dear journal, for now you are just like a new friend being welcomed to live with my family. My full name is Abigail Elisabeth Sullivan. I am sixteen years of age and I have a fraternal twin named Ryan and a younger brother named Liam. The three of us live in Donegal, Ireland along with my father, Thomas Sullivan, and my stepmother, Aurelia Richer-Sullivan. My birth mother died when I was three years old in an accident which I will talk to you about later when I am ready. I have long chocolate brown hair, matching eyes, and very pale skin. I see myself as having an athletic build from running around in the forest behind our estate with my brothers as well as training for Seeker of the Ravenclaw House Team. I can be described as being rambunctious, having a fiery personality with a temper to match. I often get into trouble at home but not much at school because I am so fervently working at doing well in my studies to appease my father. When I leave Hogwarts, I wish to become someone famous either for my mind, or for my abilities on the Quidditch Pitch, either way I wish to relieve myself from the antagonizing pursuits of my stepmother who believes that my siblings and I were only put on this earth on order to obey as she commands without any complaint. How long she believes this charade to continue, I dare not think about but rest assured my brothers and I are already concocting a plan to seek revenge. Mind you, I am not always this cruel to my enemies but my dear stepmother holds a special place in my heart that only she could claim and let me tell you it is not a part I am most fond of. I must leave you now, as I have not slept a wink this night and I am dreadfully tired and I will need all my strength in order to keep up with all that my stepmother commands of me…….

P.S. oh I forgot to mention my various nicknames. My family has a childish nickname for me—Nabby, but my friends at school call me Abby, just thought I’d mention that to you!

Dear Journal,
It seems rather silly for a sixteen year old boy to be writing in a journal like a teenage girl writes in a diary, but if it will appease my sister than so be it. My full name is Ryan Edward Sullivan and as you already know, I have a twin sister and a younger brother. I have just finished my 5th year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and just recently took the O.W.L.s exams which are the first of the two major exams each witch and wizard must take in order to graduate for Hogwarts. I personally do not believe that these tests are of importance to me, for I seek an occupation which does not require such skill as memorizing who won the Great Goblin Wars of 1347, much to the dismay of my father. I don’t see what the big deal is though; he still has another son who can follow in his foot steps. It is probably due to the fact I am his first born son that he so wishes me to have successful life just as he has had.
Right, I’m supposed to be describing myself. My hair is a bit lighter than that of my sister’s, a sort of dirty blond. It’s a bit long too, falling somewhere around my neck. I also have a tanner sort of skin which rather infuriates my sister who is often teased by both the rest of my family and her friends about how pale she is compared to me. I too am of an athletic build, for when I am in a state of great emotion whether it is happy, sad, or angry, I often will go on long walks to contemplate on my state of being and will find a spot to draw it out. I’m never without some sort of paper pad and drawing pencils for that is my passion, and I wish to perfect it as much as I can. Also, like my sister I am a member of the Ravenclaw Quidditch Team, in the position of Keeper. People describe me as shy, a romantic, and a good listener for I like to listen to others stories rather than to tell my own. That is where Nabby and I differ, which is why I feel we also get along so well. When she is in a state of distress or even in jubilation, she will begin a fluent story which I can then take and put into a painting as if the drawing cultivates within my mind as she explains her stories. Sometimes, drawing consumes me and I often am too tired to do my homework, an experience which got me into trouble with various teachers throughout the year, though I am still considered quite intelligent within my year. I don’t mean to brag or anything, but I know for a fact that Abigail and I are in the top five students in our year, an accomplishment that will surely please Father, come graduation time. That is if Father decides to go to graduation……

It is on that morbid note that I must bid farewell to you dear friend, for I must see to my brother who is most certainly still lying within the confines of his warm bed, snoozing a beautiful day away….’til another time……..

I don’t understand why I have to write in this stupid thing. My older siblings always make me do things I don’t want to do but they say I don’t have a say in the matter because Father thinks it is a wonderful thing for us to do and we all know that what Father wants is like God’s Word. I do love my father, truly but I don’t know why everything has to be educational especially for me it seems, of late. Perhaps it is because Ryan has become a disappointment to my father since he does not wish to have a job at the Ministry. I don’t see how it is fair that I must, therefore, take on the responsibility of seeking a job there myself. This is the 21st century! I should be able to pick the job that I wish to have with or without the approval of my parents.
I suppose I must first explain to you who I am. My name is Liam Thomas Sullivan and I am fourteen years old. I am the baby of the family and am treated so much to my own dismay. My mother died when I was just over a year old so I really didn’t get to know her all that well. I just completed my 3rd year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry along with my siblings who are two years older than me and are in the same House as well. I’ve not the time as my siblings have had to join the Quidditch Team though I help them practice when we all have time off together which was much more limited this year due to their studies for the O.W.L.s. I wish to be a Beater for the team, perhaps next year, and it is my goal to work my hardest this year training with my brother and sister, when we are not pranking my stepmother of course.
I keep getting off track…now in terms of my appearance; I have jet black hair, hazel eyes, a pale complexion like Nabby, freckles, and longish hair like Ryan. I have begun to thin out and grow in the past year, and I am reaching Ryan’s height and perhaps will be the same height as him by the time school starts. Like my brother, I love to draw but I most enjoy writing and reading all sorts of things. It has been a secret idea of mine to become an author when I grow older but that dream is swiftly slipping away as my darling dad sees fit to squash any dream of me choosing my own career. Perhaps in time I will be able to persuade him as Ryan did, but I must show him how great a student I have been and to show him how much happier and successful I will become doing something that I love to do for the rest of my life even if it means starting off at a lowly spot…..

Hello again, dear friend. Not much happened yesterday. Aurelia made Ryan and I pick berries in the grove a little ways away from our house, so at least we were able to spend a few hours together. Though we are twins, I feel that me and my brother spend less time with each other as the years go by. The most surprising thing is that we don’t even hang out with different circles! I think I’m going to tell you a little bit about our friends so you know who I am talking about when my friends come to visit or if we continue to write while we’re back at school.

First the girls:
My best friend is a girl named Charlotte Edenburn from Cork, Ireland. She is just like me it’s like she and Ryan traded personalities or something. She’s quite a pretty girl as well with long blonde wavy hair, eyes that look like the Caribbean ocean, and bright white straight teeth. All the boys drool over her but Charlotte’s not interested in any boys at our school. She has a boyfriend who’s left Hogwarts a couple years ago and after she graduates, they plan to elope and live in America. I personally don’t think that this plan is going to work out so well because her parents are very overprotective since she is an only child but I’m sure she’ll found out some way to get her way; she always does anyhow.

The second of my friends is Carly Smithson from Bristol, England. She is very fashion forward and when we’re not in our uniforms, she is always wearing the craziest outfits that she’s seen from the London fashion shows. Carly’s mother is a famous Muggle fashion designer who is often away from home so she spends a lot of time with her father who gives Carly and her younger sister Sierra everything their hearts desire. Carly has long straight black hair with very pale skin and bright green eyes. She’s a Chaser on the Ravenclaw Quidditch Team and a very good teammate if I do say so myself.

Lastly and most certainly not least is Samantha Cooke from London, England. She is quite like Ryan, very shy though she is very talkative around me, Carly, and Charlotte. You’ll never find Sam without a book of some sort in her hand and she’s got a very motley of a vocabulary you wouldn’t believe it. Sam has 3 other siblings who’ve all graduated from school already. Her sister is actually getting married this summer and if all goes right, I think that both Ryan and I are invited!! Sam has auburn hair that comes to her chin and she is very tan ((and I’m very jealous of it by the way)) and she is also very short, which everyone teases her about.

I think I’ll have Ryan explain who the guys are because he knows them better than I ((obviously)) I’ll be sure to ask him to mention them in his journal entry. Perhaps I’ll suggest we go on one of our little hikes in the forest again, that always seems to put both my brothers in a good mood and I feel I haven’t seen either of them smile in some time know…I believe it’s because Father is off on another on of his business trips.

I forgot to write yesterday, though I’m not sure even if I remembered that I had been able to lift a pen for Abby, Liam, and I went on a hike for most of the day, only stopping for a quick lunch which we had packed and brought with us. I’m feeling in a much better state of mind then I was the other day and now the whole thing about my future is behind me. Nabby always how to make me feel better and I’m glad about that. I don’t know what I’d do if I didn’t have a twin because it seems like she can read my very mind. Speaking of Nabby, she wanted me to mention a few of our friends in my journal entry.

Jack Thoreau is the classified “tough guy” of our group. He thinks he can take on anyone and everyone who comes at him and in all realization he probably could. He works out continually, almost to the point of annoyance and all the girls flock around him admiring his muscles. I secretly believe that Nabby has or had a huge crush on him at one point because whenever she’s around him she gets all goofy and girly which isn’t usually like her. Anyways, Jack is about average height with a deep tan and light brown hair which he flips slightly to the right side of his head. He lives in Kilkenny, Ireland.

Charlie O’Keefe is a friend I’ve known pretty much since his birth ((he’s a month younger than Nabby and I)) He lives just a little ways a way from us in the town of Donegal. Charlie is he jokester of our group and he loves to pull pranks especially on Nabby who he has a crush on, since he knows exactly what ticks her off. He’s pretty much apart of our family informally and at the moment, he’s visiting a sick grandmother in France and will be back hopefully for Sam’s sister’s wedding. Charlie has medium brown hair that is really, really curly, he has bright blue eyes that I swear glow in the dark they’re that luminous.

Todd Ledger is from Dublin, Ireland. He looks like he’s a really snooty kid with a lot of money, which he is, but he really doesn’t act like he’s a stuck up snob or anything. He’s another member of the Ravenclaw Quidditch Team as another Chaser and he’s really an amazing player. Like Nabby, I suspect Todd wishes to play professionally after school and I’m sure he’ll be drafter right away. Todd is really all Quidditch all the time and sometimes it can get annoying; he is really a nice kid who I’m very glad to have bumped into on the train in our first year. Todd has bright blond hair which is kept short and dark brown eyes and pale skin. He’s incredibly skinny and he’s also of average height.

Well, I hope that’ll satisfy Nabby, though I don’t want her to read this in order for her to check it out because I wouldn’t want her to get mad at me for accusing her of liking Jack and for her to find out that Charlie likes her. Anyways, best be off, I believe that my father is back from his business trip so I should see how he’s doing……

Exciting news! Father got a raise at work which means he won’t have to do as much traveling, so now we get to see him more often!! More opportunity for me to persuade him how good I could be as an author. Also, Aurelia can’t be as cruel to us anymore!!

I am in an utter shock right now. I took the journal from Liam’s room so I could write about how happy I was to see Father come home and how he got a raise at work so he won’t have to travel as much, and when I put it down on my bed for a moment to find a pen, it opened to Ryan’s entry earlier today. I can’t BELIEVE he would actually think that I like Jack!! That’s just total nonsense considering the fact that Carly likes him a lot and I would never do that to a friend. Another thing, I’m quite surprised that Charlie has liked me for so long. It’s a bit curious that he hadn’t said anything all this time though I don’t expect him to because he so much like Ryan, never showing his emotions through words like me and Charlotte do. I do think that he is cute, but I have always thought of him as a third brother. He’s coming back from France on Saturday ( I got an owl from him today) so I’ll have to take note on what goes on when he’s around me….’til then, good night dear friend…..

Went for another walk in the woods and Father even joined us. He seemed utterly thrilled to be out in the open air, I would expect so after being in a stuffy office for three months straight. We walked by Charlie O’Keefe’s house today and Nabby stopped suddenly as if she was waiting for Charlie to appear out of nowhere and surprise her as he often had but I reminded her that he was still in France until tomorrow morning. She seemed very odd for some reason but I let it drop because I was still so pleased to see Father home at last. Liam seemed to be trying his best to show Father how much he had learned in the past year. I must inquire as to why he’s trying to impress him so. Tonight we’re to have a poetry reading, a selection that Liam has written and I will display one of my latest works of art, which I got three detentions for doing, and I believe Nabby will be playing the piano for us. She’s quite gifted at it, being able to play since the age of three. Best be off!

Went on a walk with Father today and I really tried to impress him by showing him how I’d memorized certain facts and figures over the course of the school year. He did seem quite jubilant but I don’t know if it had anything to do with my academic excellence. It wasn’t a surprise that any of us Sullivan children were smart so it didn’t seem to faze him so much. In a moment, I will go downstairs to read some of my poetry that I have kept hidden from all others for the past six months. Hopefully, he will appreciate my passion just as he has accepted Ryan’s.

It's good to see them all happy about their Father. One can't help feeling that something unfortunate will occur.

Sorry guys, I have been so busy. Those that have been reading my other fics know that there hasn't been an update on those either so I'm apologising now. What I am going to do though is have a major posting session tomorrow and this is second on my list!
