They waited there for a few more minutes and then the doors were swung open. "This way please." Professor McGonagall instructed. Olivia was so nervous as they walked down the middle of this giant room where all the students were sitting in the black pointed hats. They were all starting at them as they followed the professor down to the front of the room where a long high table sat and it looked like all the teachers were there too. She placed a stool in front of them and then sat a hat down on top of it. It looked the sort of hat someone should be wearing while they are in a garden or something, but Olivia had learned in this new life just keep your eyes and ears open to see something amazing. Then out of the clear blue sky and hat ripped itself and a mouth formed. Olivia's mouth for the third time since getting off the train dropped open. The hat shook the dust off its self and started to sing.

Oh, you may not think I'm pretty,
But don't judge on what you see,
I'll eat myself if you can find
A smarter hat than me.
You can keep your bowlers black,
Your top hats sleek and tall,
For I'm the Hogwarts Sorting Hat
And I can top them all.

She tried to listen as the hate listed all the traits for the different houses, but it moved through them too quickly.

"When I call your name, please step forward and I will place the hat on your head and you will be sorted. Professor McGonagall announced pulling out a large scroll. "Annabell Atler." A mousy little blond girl stepped forward and sat down on the chair. The hat barely touched her head when it screamed. "Ravenclaw!"

Christian Addison, became the second Ravenclaw. And Nathalya Beltiz became the first Hufflepuff.

"Olivia Black," Olivia gulped when her name was called, she slowly walked up to the stool and sat down. The hat came down to almost her neck.

"Hmm, another Black. You are almost as bad as the Weasley's." Came a voice inside the hat. "Where to put you? The Blacks have been in Slytheirn for generations, then your uncle was placed in Gryffindor. " Then the voice got quiet. Olivia was about to pass out, this was the longest. "Gryffindor!" It finally shouted. She slumped with excitement at being placed with her friends. She thought the hat was going to put her in Slytherin where the rest of her family had been. she pulled the hat off and dashed over to the Gryffindor table where Harry pounced on her with a hug. Hermione rung her hand and Ron just gave her a cheeky smile.

Olivia beamed at all of them as she grabbed a chair at the Gryffindor table, she didn't even hear the rest of her first years being sorted. She was happy that she was in Sirius' old house, even though her father had been in Slytherin. She turned and looked at the Slytherin table, and Draco was looking at her. She locked eyes with him, a cold smile spread across his face and he blushed and looked down at his plate. She was being shaken back to reality by Harry. "Oi!" She said laughing and turning out of his grasp.

"What were you looking at I was talking to you about quidditch?" He asked shoving some kidney pie in his mouth.

"Oh nothing. What were you saying?" She asked as she piled her plate high with food. Since coming to England she had discovered how much she liked food and she loved eating. They went into a nice long conversation about the Canons match they had went to last week. Sirius had treated them all to the game. Even taking Ron and the Weasley twins. They all had a good time. Soon all their bellies were full and it was time to go off to bed. Percy marched the the first years off to the Gryffindor Tower, Olivia would get lost trying to find her first class in the morning.

She looked around the room at the four poster beds. This was a huge improvement over her last school. Which had metal detectors and drug sniffing dogs to great you every morning. The rest of her first years piled into the room. She greeted them with a smile, but they all climbed into bed without a word. She looked around at them and wondering what Harry was doing right now. She changed into her dressing gown and went down to the common room. It was empty she walked up to the boy's dorms. She opened two doors before she saw Ron's tangled red hair poking out of his sheets. She tip toed over to Harry's bed and climbed in with him. He opened a blurry eye, not chocked to see Olivia scampering into his bed. She had taken to sleep with him for a few weeks now. Neither of them knew what it was like to have a sibling and they had really taken a liking to each other. Harry opened his arms for her to snuggle up to him. She wrapped the blanket around herself, and turned to face Harry. She found Harry sitting in one of the chairs close to the fireplace. "Missed me already?" He chuckled wrapping the blanket around both of them.

"I'm just lonely up there."

"Don't be a part about it. I'm right here." He said rubbing his nose with hers. "You will like Hogwarts. Sirius and my dad had loads of fun, and me and Ron and Hermione loved it here."

She poked him in the cheek, "I know I guess I just got used to being around you and Sirius." She said. Harry pulled her close and stroked her hair.

"I'll introduce you around in the morning. Now hush and let's go to sleep." He gave her a smile and closed his eyes. Olivia gave his cheek one last poke before she drifted off to sleep.

Sorry I haven't been here for a while. Good work.

Olivia work with a start. She looked around and room and it took her a minute to realize where she was. She looked over at Harry who was sleeping with his mouth open. She peeked out of the curtains and it was still dark out. She pulled her dressing gown around her and slid out of the bed. She was awake now and wanted to do something. She tip toed down to the deserted common room and through the portrait hole.

"First year out of bed on the first night." The fat lady chuckled. "If you see Violet dear send her my way. Those Friars have gone and left a barrel of mead in here." Olivia nodded and yes and walked off into the darken castle. She didn't know what she was doing or where she was going. it just felt good to have the run of the school by herself. She made her way down to the ground floor, walking past the Great Hall.

"I guess I shouldn't be surprised." Came a familiar voice across the entrance hall. Olivia jumped and slid across the floor in her socks straight into a suite of armor, and with a spectacular crash she might have awoken the whole castle. She heard a chuckle and soon someone was helping her stand. She pulled her arm painfully free from the tangled mess and looked up into the smiling face of Professor Dumbledoor. "I dare say you were a lot quicker at getting out and about than your uncle or even Harry." He said with a smile on his face. She dusted off her cheek with a wipe of his hand.

"Professor Dumbledoor sir I'm sorry," She stammered.

"It is alright to be curious Olivia." He explained as he turned and started walking. Olivia ran to walk along with him. He was so much taller.

"Did you know who my dad was when you came to get me?" She asked him.

"It took me a few years to piece it together, but yes I knew when your letter was sent out." He explained.

"Are you going to punish me for being out of bed?"

"I think this time I can make an exception. Although next time I might suggest Harry's cloak whenever the urge to roam the castle at night strikes." He walked along in silence, with his hands behind his back.

"Did the sorting hat make a mistake putting me in Gryffindor?" She had almost forgotten about her father. He was in Slytherin and she wasn't what did that say about her.

She looked up when she heard him laugh. "The house does not the student make." Was all he said to her. Then they arrived at the Fat Lady who begin primping when she was the Headmaster approach. "I bid you goodnight Ms. Black." He gave her a bow and a smile as the portrait swung open to allow Olivia in. She turned and waved to Dumbledoor but he was already gone. She ran inside and back up to Harry's bed. He was still asleep, she climbed back into the bed and snuggled back up to him.
