Sirius went down to the kitchen after Harry. "You could go easy on her you know." He said sitting down at the table and summoning a decanter full of red wine and a glass to himself. He poured himself a nice glass and looked up at Harry.

"Shes the one who ran off." He said defensively. "I had it hard too, I'm not being a prat about it."

"You had friends to help you through it. Maybe she needs a friend right now." Harry looked properly chastised. He looked down at his trained and shuffled his feet. "She's in the same boat as you Harry. Never had a family, had people mistreating her. Though I gather she had a tougher time of it than you." He finished his glass and went to pour another one.

Kretcher came into the kitchen with a pot of potatoes in his arms. Harry ran over to help him lift the pot into the stove. Sirius pointed his wand at the stove to light it. "Having bangers and mash?" He asked the old elf.

"Yes master." He said "Who is new misses?" Kretcher asked as he went to start on the laundry.

"She is Regulus' daughter." Sirius told him. They had had a few rocky years before Harry come along, but with everyone's help they both have gotten over what Sirius' mother did to both of them. they even got rid of that horrible elf head trophy plaque in the front hall. Kretcher looked up so sharply his ears slapped against the side of his head.

"Master Regulus has daughter?" He asked tears starting to well up in his eyes. He put down the laundry he was working on and popped out of the room with a tiny pop.

"Is he ok?" Harry asked.

"Yeah, Reg was his favorite." Sirius told him.

Olivia had walked into a room that looked as if no one stayed in it. It had a smell to it that told her no one had been in the room in years. She walked over to the bookshelf. There was a picture of a boy zooming around on a tiny broom. She looked closely at the picture. It was a miniature version of her father. She picked it up and walked over to the bed and sat down on it, and stared at that picture till it felt like her father was zooming around in her head. She ran her fingers over the green and silver bedspread. It was a snake weaved into the smooth fabric. This was where her father slept when he was a boy. She was in his childhood bedroom. She looked around at everything. What kind of boy was he? Did he like sports like she did. She looked through a photo album of him on a broom reaching for something gold and fluttering. She smiled at those pictures. She wondered why she always liked to play sports. Her father had at least like to do something.

She took the album and clutched it to her chest and curled up on the bed and laid down.

Harry walked up to Regulus' room and knocked lightly on the door. He pushed it open slightly. Olivia sat up on the bed and wiped the tears from her face. "I thought you could use this." He had a small tray with tea and a plate of biscuits. He set the tray down on the night stand and sat down on the wooden chair that was by the desk.

"Thanks." Olivia said taking a cookie off the plate and biting into. It was the best tasting chocolate chip cookie she had ever had.

"I'm an orphan too." He told her was he watched her eat the cookie. "My mom and dad were murdered."

She looked up quickly at him. "You didn't always live here?" She asked him.

"No I lived with my rotten aunt and uncle. I used to live under the stairs."

"For real? Before social service got me I was living in this warehouse on the southside of Dallas." She said nothing once thinking Harry didn't have a wonderful life.

"My cousin Dudley and his friends used to beat me up all the time. They chase me around the school one time and I jumped on the roof of the kitchens." Harry said almost laughing at the memory.

"This one dude at my group home Glow used to beat me up and take my money." They went back and forth like that for hours. At the end of their little chat they both realized they had made a new friend.

awww...Olivia's warming up to others! i can feel it.

"Fancy a trip downstairs? My best mates Ron and Hermione are coming for dinner." He said while he was leaning back on the bed watching her look through Quidditch through the ages. She looked really interested in the book. Maybe they could get a two on two game going later on tonight.

She looked up from the book, "Yeah thats straight." She told him with a nod of her head.

Harry smirked at her, "We really need to work on your vocabulary. We don't talk like that around here."

"Well its the only way I know how to talk." she told him shutting her book and standing up. "So we eating or what?" Harry laughed and they both went downstairs to Kretcher finishing up with the table settings. It smelled good and Olivia was getting used to eating like a regular person. She was really starting to like England. They all sat down and had a very nice dinner.

"Olivia where were you living before Dumbledor came and saw you?" Sirius asked taking a bite of his banger then dipping it in some ketchup to take another bite.

She swallowed before she answered. "Er, I was staying at a group home. It was the last one the judge was going to let me stay in before he sent me to kiddie prison." She told them.

"They send kids to jail over there?" Harry asked surprised.

She looked at him. They locked up anybody in the United States. "You do something worth getting in trouble and they will lock you up." She told them with a shrug and another spoonful of mash.

"No one takes it easy on you just cuz you a kid." she let out a rough laugh that would have suited a burly man in his fifties. "I've stolen cars for my homeboy Track for a benjamin. Then I had to fight for my dinner at night. I ran away from 3 group homes when the dudes couldn't keep their hands to themselves." She got quiet for a minute and had to hold back her tears. "Nobody never stopped and said, hey this is a kid right here, we gotta protect her. Naw they threw my to the wolves." She told them looking at her plate and not feeling like eating anymore.

That was her life, it seemed strange for a girl her age to have gone through the things she had in her life. She couldn't change that, she dealt with it the best way she could. She ran away from her group home when the boys couldn't keep their hands to themselves. She stole when she didn't have any food to eat or clothes to wear. She even used to steal cars with one of her friends and they would sell them. Her friend was found in a dumpster a few weeks later and thats when she stopped having friends.

Harry looked at her, he just suffered from not being loved. Sure he never got to eat as much as he would have liked, but he never had to steal food or eat out of the trash. He looked over at her. She had been through so much yet she had survived. His hand shot up to his scar. They were survivors.

The next few weeks were the best times of Olivia's life. She spent her days hanging with Sirius as he took her around the world to see all the places she had see on tv. She even showed him how to play basketball, she was really good at that game. They acted more like father and daughter than uncle and niece. Sirius showed her the family tree, even the little hole that used to be him. She burst into tears when he added her under Regulus. They had a big celebration dinner. Sirius invited the Weasley to help them celebreate. Fred and George ended the night with a "We got Black." chant that they followed up with a cleaver little jig.

She spent her nights hanging with Harry, Ron and Hermione. Harry and Ron schooled her on Quidditch. Harry showed her how to play gobstones and Ran taught her how to play chess. She cold beat Harry with her eyes closed, but Ron was still the grandmaster. Hermione crammed years of magical learning into her head. Using her wand she could unlock doors, levitate things and transfigure matches into needles. She burned the midnight oil reading all of Hermione's books. She taught them how to play basketball and spades. Hermione really liked spades and had even taken to carrying around a deck of muggle playing cards in her bag.

Over the weeks, her color deepened giving her a soft brown glow. One could even tell she had teeth now she smiled so much. The under fed look that had emancipated her frame dropped as she gained weight and fill out to how a loved and cared for 11 year old girl should look. She was always smiling and even Kretcher commented on that during dinner one night. Her speech improved, gone was the gutter street lingo that she had grown up to accept as the speech of choice, even her accent was taking in a slight British tone. She didn't think it was possible for her to forget the fist 11 years of her life, but she was finding it harder and harder to bring those memories to mind. She felt and looked like a brand new girl. Olivia Black she was.

The morning of September 1 Olivia was up and dressed before anyone. She burst through Harry's door and jumped on his bed. "Get up!" She shouted giggling at Harry's disheveled head popping up off his pillow. He looked a the clock on the wall.

"Gerroff. It's only 6 in the morning of Merlin's sake." He said trying to push her off his bed. She ducked his kicking legs and bound out of his room. She was so excited to finally be going to Hogwarts. She took the stairs two at a time up to the third floor to wake up Sirius. She knocked on his door and opened it. He was still sleeping, she tip toed in the room so she could surprise him.

"Don't even try it." He called out to her not even bothering to open his eyes. She stopped in her tracks and let out a girly giggles. Like the little girl she was and not he harden street urchin she was before.

"How did you know?" She asked walking over to to his bed and climbing on top of the covers and laying down at his feet.

"You always smell like apples and butterbeer." He said with a smile. Her and Harry had went into muggle London and to a store called H&M and he bought her some apple scented body spray, and she had been wearing it since the day. And butterbeer was he favorite drink so every room she walked into smelled of apples and butterbeer all the time. Sirius had come to love that smell. When he looked at Olivia he saw his own daughter. He had taught her how to ride a broom for Merlin's sake. Regulus had been too spineless to stand up to his mother and profess his love for the muggleborn witch he had fell in love with and had a child with. No he hid her birth and sent off to the United States to be used and abused. Sirius wouldn't have done that. He wouldn't have parted with his child. Not with Olivia. He smiled down at her and then went back to sleep.

After the quick kip everyone was off the King's Cross. Then they were in front of that red steaming engine. It was all Olivia could to not melt right there on the platform. Sirius looked down at her proudly. Like he was sending his own child off to Hogwarts for the first time.

"Send me an owl every week." He said his eyes misting over slightly.

"I will I promise." She said pecking him on his cheek as he crouched down to get her a proper hug. He pulled her trunk onto the train and put it in the compartment with Harry's things. He stepped off the train and walked back over to her as she was surrounded by a knot of students as Harry introduced her around.

"I have something for you." He told her pulling a medium size box out of his pocket. She clapped her hands and tore into the box. Inside was a little kitten covered in fur so white it almost blinded her when the light bounced off it. She squealed in delight and threw her arms around Sirius' waist.

"Thank you. What's her name?" She asked picking her up and cuddling her close to her chest.

"Chiba." He told her. "You better get on the train. Have a good term." He told her. She nodded and gave him one last hug then she ran to the train and climbed aboard. She ran to her compartment and ran to the window so she could see Sirius. He was wiping the few tears out of his eyes and he waved to her.

I like the way your tale is developing, but what about the Underage Wizard Restrictions? Can they do magic in Black House?

OOC: if you remember in the books parents were expected to monitor their children with the wands and magic. And in a house with an adult wizard they wouldn't be able to tell who had did the magic. Harry was blamed for Dobby doing a spell at the Dursleys.

Olivia finally sat down clutching her kitten to her chest. She held her up and saw that she had piercing blue eyes. She loved her instantly. "Chiba," she snuggled. Hermione was shoving some cat treats into her Crookshanks' cage when she looked up and saw Chiba.

"She is beautiful Olivia." She told her handing Olivia some cat treat to see if Chiba wanted some, she sniffed the and then slowing swiped one out of Olivia's hand and ate it. After a couple more treats she put her down and Chiba went to sleep. They were laughing and playing a game of exploding snap when the compartment door slid open, and Olivia's heart stopped. Standing in the door way was the cutest boy she had ever seen. She was about to say something when she noticed the looks Harry and Ron were giving the boy and his friends, she gathered that they weren't friends. She kept her mouth closed but just stared at him thinking about how cute he was.

"I see Potter got himself a new girlfriend." Draco said turning his eyes onto Olivia finally, and his heart stopped. Who was she? She was beautiful. He thought and for a moment his mouth hung open and he didn't say anything.

"Bugger off Malfoy." Ron growled jumping up from his seat and sending their game pieces flying everywhere.

"That temper is going to get you in trouble one day Weasley." Draco said after he finally tore his eyes away from Olivia's smooth coco brown skin and her softly curled hair that fell around her face. Draco and Ron glared at each other for a few more minutes. "Come on," Draco finally said to his two friends. Olivia couldn't help but watch him walk out.

"Who was that?" She asked trying to sound like she didn't like the boy.

"Draco Malfoy. the vilest little boy at Hogwarts." Hermione answered huffily. Then in a hushed undertone, "His family is a bunch of dark wizards." Olivia looked at them all. It seemed she wouldn't be making friends with Draco anytime soon. The rest of the ride went unhitched. Finally everyone stood to change into their robes. Olivia had to get Harry's help with she was so nervous trying to zip herself up.

"Leave your trunk, they will take it up for you." Hermione instructed her. "You have to go down to the dock."

"Why, can't I go with you guys?" Olivia asked

"First years go up the the school a different way." She told her with a toothy smile.
