Fanartists, it's time to move over to our new gallery & we need YOUR help to do it. The new gallery allows you to create your own album for fanart, and as a result, this will change the way your 'portfolios' operate.
Instead of posting art in your portfolio thread, we would like you all to create your own fanart album in the new image gallery (instructions below), and in the future, all art will be uploaded there. This allows you to post large images without scrolling the page & properly present your images, it also provides a place where all of your fanart can be seen together, without having to go through many pages of a thread. If you still wish to discuss your art with other members, you can create a new portfolio thread, which will work in the same way as previous portfolios, however, instead of posting the art in your portfolio, you will link your gallery album in the first post.
The old portfolios will be moved to the ARTchive forum, but you will still be able to post in them for a period of two weeks. After this time, we strongly encourage you to start a new portfolio & use the new fanart system.
Below are the instructions for moving over to the new fanart 'system':
1. Create a new album in the
gallery:
- Click the 'Create/order my albums' button at the top of the page

- Select 'new' & a new album will appear on the album list. Rename the album something like "my fanart" or "-username-'s portfolio".

- Click 'apply modifications', and your new album will be created.

2. Now you can start a portfolio thread in the new
portfolio forum. Please set your portfolio thread up with some information about your art in the first post, and a link to your gallery album. You may choose to use this template for your first post:
===========
Artist name:
LINK TO ALBUM:
Materials used:
Favourite things to draw:
Favourite HP fanartist/artwork:
Favourite non-hp artist/artwork:
Any other info:

Here is an example of a correctly set up portfolio.
3. Adding images to your album: Click 'upload file' on the blue navigation bar at the top of the page & follow the instuctions from there.
IMPORTANT: When it asks you for "keywords" & "submitted by" DO NOT fill these out! The gallery automatically works out who submitted an image, and 'keywords' is a function only needed for gallery staff.
If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to PM me or post in the
questions thread.
I hope to see everyone in the gallery soon

-Rovie.
