Ok, it says that you can't apparate within the grounds of Hogwarts in Hogwarts a History, and Dobby apparates into the hospital wing when Harry lost all his bones in his arm, so what's up with that? |

Yes, and House Elves ARE allowed to use their magic in the school becuase they clean and cook and need to be able to maneuver around the school. | |

Okay so Dobby can't apparate, he doesn't need too ... which begs the question: Does that mean that house elves magic is more powerful than wizard magic? 
And what else can they do that's different?
It's kind of funny that house elves don't need to apparate, and that they're so eager to please wizards and whatnot but if that's the case is it also the case that they're more powerful? Wouldn't that be fun? And possibly also a reason that wizard kind keeps them under the boot heel of their tyranny!!!!!!!!111111111

Houselves have their own kind of magic! They can apparate almost everywhere, at least at Hogwarts anyway.
It's only humans who can't apparate inside Hogwart's grounds. | |

You definatly cant apperate into the grounds or the castle becasue if you could, in HBP Malfoy wouldnt have had to fix the vanishing cabinet. The Death Eaters would have already tried.
House elf magic is not nessissarily more powerful than wizard magic but it is very different. | |

We've discussed that house elves can't apparate, but they can dissapear to a new location with a snap of their fingers right? well in order for house elves not become more powerful than a wizard, i think house elves should only be able to change location within a certain perimeter. But then, the whole SPEW would be against that, so thats not an option. I do think it would have been cool if J.K added something to the book about house elve's taking over with the help of SPEW, but that would totally change the story. anyway... do you get what i'm saying or am i just confusing you even more? sorry if i am | |

Dobby can move in and out of the walls of Hogswarts school at will because he is the awesomest, and can do whatever he wants. 
I reckon when the castle was built, the founders didn't set up specific blocks for all types of magic. Wizards are prohibited from Apparating or Disapparating, but who cares about an elf? *coughSPEWunite*cough* | |
