Hogwarts RPG Name: Mortis Lucifer Shazwozzle First | Could be but i'd say no. My theory on the Chamber of Secrets is that its one room with many secrets we dont know about. For me its in the title, 'Chamber' is not plural but 'Secrets' is so make of that what you will.
It seemed to be that what the Basilisk came out of was just an enormous hollowed out statue of sorts.
So i'm looking to Deathly Hallows to see if theres more down there than what we know of. |

Sixth | I agree, the chamber may have alcoves which contain secrets and Harry must explore them. |

| I don't think there are other rooms down there, I think the Chamber was just it. This is what is says about the Chamber on Wikipieda: The Chamber of Secrets, which is deep under the dungeons (probably under the lake), was home to an ancient Basilisk, intended to be used to purge the school of Muggle-born students. The Chamber was built by Salazar Slytherin, one of the founders of Hogwarts, before he left the school. Since the spring of 1993, the Chamber has presumably been empty.
The Chamber is well hidden and the entrance is in Moaning Myrtle's bathroom on the second floor, which leads down into a dark, slimy stone tunnel. There are many skeletons of small animals littering the floor and even a gigantic skin shed by the Basilisk. The tunnel leads to a solid wall, carved with two entwined serpents with emeralds for eyes.CS Ch.16 When Parseltongue is spoken they open into a very long, dim corridor, lined with monumental statues of snakes, including two towering stone pillars with more carved serpents that brace the ceiling. A colossal statue of Salazar Slytherin, looking ancient and monkey-like, is at the centre. The Basilisk rested inside the statue and emerged from its mouth.
I don't think we'll see anymore of it in book 7. |

Katie | True.
Even Dumbledore said that there are many tunnels underneath Hogwarts and he doesn't know ALL of Hogwarts secrets.
I don't think the tunnels or the chamber will play a role in book 7. I think Harry's search for the horcruxes will lead him away from Hogwarts.
Here is a link with a map of the Chamber: HPL: Map of the Chamber of Secrets

Hogwarts RPG Name: Abby Sumpter | Harry already destroyed the Horcrux with the Chamber connection so I don't think this will come into play later. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Luke Winters Sixth Year | Interesting theory. But I think it's probably just the lair of the basilisk, or perhaps it connects to one of the pipes. |

Molly Anne Luftani Magical Transportation | This question really gets you thinking doesn't it? well, now that you've got my brain working to the max on imagination, i think that since the basilisk came out of the statue, i think that yes, there was another room behind it. I think that there probably was a humungously ginormously gigantic room that would be like a house to the basilisk. so that means it would be like 5 times the average house. But thats just what i think it was. Who knows what was behind the statue....... everybody thinks differently.
and going back to whatpheonix ashes said, i do think there was more to the chamber of secrets than just the basilisk. A lot more probably took place in that room that was never told about, because what pheonix ashes said, who knows what other secrets lie behind the chamber, secrets was plural
SPOOKY!!!!!
now that i think about it, are there any other openings into the chamber of secrets? J.K never really mentioned it, but with all those pipes, there has to be!! something else others might want to think about.

Elisabeth Aspen Magical Education | I think the Basilisk came out of a pipe or something. There is just one room to the Chamber, I think, but remember it is fashioned with the pipe system, so there are lots of pipes and drains and all sorts of twists and turns down there. |

I think there was a place for Basilisk's own where he returned after each tast and waited for Voldemort (here, Ginny) to command. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Jeffrey Jolet First Year | I think it was called the Chamber of Secrets just because no one knew what was in there. It was just a chamber that no one knew anything about and many people just didn't believe it existed. Also, no one but a parsletongue (sp?) could open it, therefore people would just assume that there were many things in there that Salazar Slytherin wouldn't want people to see and so they called it the Chamber of Secrets. |
