so elves have a different type of magic, they can apparate anywhere they'd like to , because just what they have said, that they do all the chores in hogwarts, and i think they're not allowed to mingle with the students, so they do their jobs when nobody's around or people are not aware.

Dobby should be able to do anything that he wants now. I doesnt have a master anymore now that Harry set him free and work at Hogwarts lets him come and go as he pleases. He is happy now.

As Rowling explains in a later book, house elves have their own brand of magic. They can do things ordinary witches and wizards cannot--including apparating within the grounds of Hogwarts. They need to do this so they can get food to the students and staff promptly, to help with sick or injured students and staff, and to do the general things a house elf needs to do quickly and efficiently. Because technically, the house elves aren't supposed to be seen by their masters at Hogwarts.

Personally I don't think house elf magic is better then a wizards magic, I believe house elf magic is just different, not stronger, if anything weaker cause house elfs were enslaved by human witches and wizards and that would not have happened if houe elf magic was stronger then a witch or wizards magic.

Dobby like all the house elfs have a special type of magic that wizards dont recognize. The house elfs also work in the school and they have to clean and cook. They have to get all around Hogwarts and they have to do it fast. | |

I'm pretty certain that JK Rowling has confirmed that house elves are actually more powerful than wizards. They have the power to disappear and reappear elsewhere, and for them that is their own magic. It's different from a witch or wizard's Apparation/Disapperation.

This is directly answered in the books. I think Dumbledore (not sure!) told Harry that house elves have very powerful magic, but because of their race's beliefs and morals they often don't use their power against wizards.

Well, as it says in the seventh book, when Dobby an Kreacher are looking to see what Malfoy is up to, House Elves have special magic. Harry is in the common room when Dobby and Kreacher apparate in to tell them what they have seen. Before they leave, Harry asks them how the apparate on the grounds. Dobby says that House Elf magic is not like Wizard magic.
