Hawk Ebon | Most loyal film?
I have long considered this to be the most loyal of the Potter films and I still do think that. While Deathly Hallows was able to include a whole lot more than others, the added deaths and the lack of Wormtails death would probably put COS ahead.
I mean, think about it: All the elements were included except one. Aragog, Moaning Myrtle, the Minister, the term Mudblood, the messages on the wall, Ginny's attraction to Harry, everything. True, the list of attacks were not exactly as they were in the book, but most were still in. The only element that wasn't in was the deathday party. Everything just seemed really fleshed out.

I agree, but you also have to look it that way: They couldn't really cut out anything because it was all crucial to the plot of the book. And things weren't as "complicated" as for example in Order of the Phoenix! |

As I do agree I don't feel this was one of the best movies. I feel they left many things out of all the movies including the final 2.

Yeah, they could cut anything out. So they did the right thing and kept it all in. They didn't do the same with some of the others. Everything in POA was needed as well, but they cut out one of the best parts, the part where the Marauders are revealed. So COS kept everything in, and that makes it the most loyal. Usually when you protect the body of the book, you end up protecting the spirit. |

i've always enjoyed the first 2 films more i like richard harris as dumbledore and also think they are the 2 films most true to the books i understand as the books got longer they couldn't fit in everything but if you watch the films without reading the books i feel they are a little confusing and don't explain everything

It's quite a short book compared with the others to follow where it would probably take hours of screen time to show every moment that were in the books

I do think it is the most faithful, but mostly because, as others have said, there wasn't much they could cut. In fact, I think the only thing they did cut was the deathday party.

They did it really well, I agree that this was the most faithful movie to its book.
