*hopes to find crafty people*

Is anyone doing a craft for Christmas gifts? I am doing stocking hats and am tired of them lol! I have about 50+ to make total and am getting wiped out...

Jessiqua 12-23-2016 06:45 AM

:x3: I love crafts! Crochet and sewing are my top, but I also love drawing and colouring in ^_^ and cross-stitch.

I'm not making any gifts this year, but I made my own Christmas tags, and I made a Christmas Bunting to hang around the house too :loved: the previous year I crocheted some Christmas trees and stars. And just recently I crocheted my two good friends baby blankets for their newborns. Also, I used to love making bears :P

Oh I bet you are Liz :whaa: 50!?

WhittyBitty 12-23-2016 01:25 PM

I've done some crafting for Christmas! :D I cross-stitch, and I made four Christmas coasters (one for me and the others as presents), a couple bookmarks, and a motivational picture for my brother. ^_^ I made an ornament for the tree as well, though that wasn't a gift. I plan to make three more ornaments in the future as well as six stockings. Those will take a while.

I want to learn how to crochet like Jess. :x3:

Also idk how you can make over 50 Liz. Go you! :whaa:

My top ones are beading and photography lol. I got into the round knitting, and am going to try a blanket thing I got too next. I switch them up though, as there's tons of patterns online and I've even created a few of my own making these. I'm at like....26-27 right now. Long way to go but there's only a few due by Christmas, the rest aren't due to January :woot: lol

I knit and crochet with needles and hooks too but my projects don't turn out so pretty :x3: I miss stitches or count too many and stuff, so it's easier for me to use the round hoops. Once I finish with the hats, I have 2 hats I want to try and make. One is a witches hat and the other a cowboy hat. Both knitted with the round hoops!

I also do a ton of other crafts too! I love doing cross stitch, that was one I did years ago, for everyone too. I also made plastic canvas tissue box covers in the shapes of rocking horses and carriages.

I'm just now getting into painting with a palette knife. My photography instructor invited me to one of her classes she teaches, and I fell in love with it lol!

I have a few things I need to put up in the DOP crafts! That is on my agenda tomorrow or Tuesday now that crazy Christmas is over!! :)

I want to learn to sew! I can't even sew a stupid button on pants. I'm a horrible excuse for a mom!

Jessiqua 12-26-2016 12:03 AM

Whit's made with love things are beautiful :loved: come here and I'll teach you! OR YouTube a lady named BellaCoco. I learned a lot of my crochet skills from her.

That's good to hear Liz! I can't knit at all, I feel so uncoordinated doing it, but I love the tightness of a knitted thing. OH a Loom hoop? Those are so great! I love learning new skills.

Ali, there are LOADS of tutorials on YouTube. Hand sewing etc. You can start with a button and work your way up :D My mum made a lot of my clothes as a child, likethis Witch costume for book week when I was 5 lol. The hat was so big. And my nana was a quilter, so I inherited a lot of her equipment. I learned at a young age, but forgot most of it. I'm going to go and do a sewing class sometime in January to help with fitting clothing and things too. But YouTube is my go-to for help, usually.

Nymphadoraliz 12-26-2016 12:39 AM

Awwww you're not a horrible excuse for not sewing lol! I like to sew but am not all that great at it. When my youngest daughter was born I wanted to make her a fleece snowsuit. Well...I did sort of, and maybe an inch was by machine? But the remainder was done by hand. I want to get into quilting though so maybe I'll learn more lol!

I love the hoop, because there's so many options for it. It can be as tight or loose as you want it. When I use needles I just seem to take forever and in the end just drop the project and sometimes come back to it later if kitty doesn't find it first.... Crochet I like too but it's the same for me. I run into it taking longer, missing counts and stuff, so it just ends up being a frustration.

So I'm getting into Stranger Things on Netflix, and in good binge tradition I had to start a crafty project. I'm doing another ripple blanket, sort of a crimson and a navy.

Do you guys all craft whilst you binge too? :P

I totally do lol! I sit and bead or knit when watching films!

NightMagic191 01-02-2017 04:03 PM

Hi all! :D
I tried to knit a bit, but it seems harder for me than for others... I use to knit very tiny meshes, obtaining things strict like cardboard and using lots of wool!
No problem, I tried different ways to "waste time" and I found the perfect thing for me: recycle! :D
Old necklaces can become something absolutely new, things people would throw in the rubbish bin can be still used to do block notes, bookmarks and so on!
Now I'm thinking about that, I have something I can show you (with a tutorial too!)... maybe I can post them somewhere! :D

EDIT: Done! You can find some of them here: http://www.snitchseeker.com/the-burr.../#post12116840

I need to find my beads  I packed them for class last semester and now can't remember where I'd put them :x3:

I'm hoping to do some House medallions!

Jessiqua 11-01-2017 09:44 PM

Crikey it's been so long since I've been in here :(

*showers Liz in sequins and soft craft things*

Anyone have any Christmas projects they\'ve started or planning on? I want to do a Christmas cross stitch! Etsy have some really cute ones that are pdfs, which is great because $0 postage haha.

Nymphadoraliz 11-04-2017 10:09 PM

*squidges Jess*

I\'m working on some projects but have one in mind. Nothing like being drowned in hats like last year though :lmao:

Nymphadoraliz 04-06-2018 03:58 AM

Hey lovelies!

So I\'ve been wondering if people would rather we went back to this route here where everyone just posted their craft projects right in the thread? I don't know that anyone really is doing the craft challenges now, and feel that maybe we had way more activity when it was all in the thread.

What's everyone's thoughts?
