La Volière The home to countless species of both magical and mundane birds native to France in every color imaginable, and a few personal favorites of Professor de Nostredame, the aviary is as impressive on the outside as it is on the inside. Consisting of hundreds of pristine and crystal clear glass windows, a number rivaled only to that of its inhabitants, it is spacious and the perfect getaway for those seeking a more colorful and slightly less polished place to study or pass the time. Benches carved from stone lay along the winding paths within, though one should not be surprised to find that some of the birds have taken it upon themselves to apply a bit of...shall we say decor to the seating? Students may earn extra credit from Professor de Nostredame by taking care of both fauna and flora found here, as well as using scrub brushes to clean the stones of any and all droppings. |
Open! ^-^ The best thing about being in a new place was getting herself lost on a Saturday morning after breakfast. She was free to wander around and find all the new best spots for HOURS. No lessons and no practices. Minus her daily morning run/workout, that is. This mornings exploration was happening outside. Nothing was going to be overlooked. If it appeared interesting, she was checking it out. Anything mysterious was being looked at too. Boring? Yup. Rylee didn't want to miss anything. In many ways it was like being a first year all over again. The excitement that came along with learning and seeing so many new things was unreal. To say the least, this sixth year was in her glory. Especially now. Standing outside the massive aviary was unforgettable. If it was this impressive from the outside... what did the inside have in store for her?! They could go inside couldn't they? Rylee looked around for a 'Keep Out' sign or something telling her that she wasn't allowed inside but found nothing. Nor did she find a book or sheet of parchment to sign her name on showing that she was here, like how things worked back at Hogwarts in the barn. Quietly opening the door and letting herself in, making sure the door closed behind her, Rylee stood a few feet inside the aviary in awe. She couldn't help but thing how much her brother would LOVE it in here. |

It wasn't until she was fully in and looking around that she realized she wasn't alone. There was more than just the bird in here, "Hello?" Turning the corner she saw Rylee and gave a small wave, "I hope I'm not interrupting anything." Was the girl trying to study or even do research on the birds that Chloe might have come in on. "Interesting place, isn't it?" |
Quote:
"Not at all. I was exploring the grounds and ended up here." Which had become a normal routine for her as it had been when she started Hogwarts in her first year. "It really is. It's beautiful in here." So many different types of birds all in one place was lovely. "Would you like to take a walk around in here with me?" Hopefully Chloe would enjoy it as much as she already was. |

Looking back at Rylee she smiled, "Sure, I'd love to walk and look around. How many types of birds do you think are in here?" As she started walking Chloe looked at the plants and searched for some of the birds. She heard them but had only seen what looked like the same bird swooping around them. Stopping she glanced around, "You don't think they have one of those birds that make you go into a trance or whatever that is?" What was the name of that bird again? |
Quote:
"That's a good question. One I'm not sure of but I would say there's definitely a wide variety of species in here." Rylee wasted no time at all in beginning their walk, sticking to one of the paths. A bird that could put you into a trance? Stopping beside Chloe she looked around for a moment, clearly in thought even as she spoke to her friend. "You don't mean a Fwooper, do you?" They didn't quite put someone into a trance but they could indeed cause insanity if not the proper charms were not placed upon them monthly and you heard them sing. |
