Adi was eager for this lesson. Coupled with his strange slowness, he took a little longer to get to where the class would be held because he had woken up (much to his dismay) with a particularly loooong beard.

But anyway, here he was now, moving as fast as he could, passing all the signs that indicated he should head past the pens. He did just that and soon came upon a field. Adi took in the surroundings: blankets, buckets, a bird that was probably the subject of the lesson and a man. Adi made a beeline for him.

"Hello, Professor! Welcome to Hogwarts!'' Best welcome the man, yes? And introduce himself while he was at it. ''I'm Aditya Rehman but I go by Adi.'' And here was a friendly grin for you Mr. Professor.

Michael had been looking forward to this class for ages. One of the main reasons was because it was outside. He loved being outside. Well he used to like being outside, but now he found the cold rather irritating.

Not to mention it was so far from the castle. His legs were protesting most profusely by the time he reached the area in which the class was being held.

"Good day Professor." He greeted the man as he walked by and then spotted he blankets on the ground and he groaned inwardly. Why did they have to sit on the floor?

This was her favorite.

There was a definite and difficult spring in her step as she made her way slowly down to the area they'd be having class. Her umbrella was dangling from one hand, a bag slung over the opposite shoulder, ready for whatever Thompson was going to throw her their way.

Nice setup too, y'know. The blankets made her think of picnics and her thoughts went to Alec, the small smile that had been playing on her lips widening a bit. She wandered over to one closest to where Thompson was seated and flopped down carefully, placing her bag and umbrella in front of her. The only problem was she wished she'd had a cushion. Muscles were still aching lately, yeah? It really was the strangest thing.

Eyes on Professor Thompson now, the blonde greeted cheerfully, "Hello, Professor. I-" Bird. Thin bird. Thin mournful looking bird. "That's an Augurey, isn't it?" GRIN!

Were they forecasting the weather today?

Bay walked down to where the Care of Magical Creatures class was being held. Following the signs he finally found it and yes awesome there were blankets for him to sit on. He said his hello to the professor. "Good Morning Professor Thompson" while he went to go get comfy on one of those blankets.

Did the Professor think they were dumb or something?

Okay, sure. Some of the students at Hogwarts were dumb, but surely they weren't that dumb where they all needed signs to point them where to go. It was a Care of Magical Creatures lesson, wasn't it? In all her years at Hogwarts, which wasn't really all that many, but still, they had never had a lesson that didn't take place near where all the creatures were. Those signs received a good few pokes with her umbrella as she made her way down to the area and..

..what did they even need an umbrella for?

Perhaps it had something to do with that ugly looking bird sitting by the not so ugly looking Professor? Perhaps. Rhodes narrowed her eyes slightly at the bird before giving the Professor the best smile she could come up with. It wasn't all that pleasant. "Hi." Was all she had to say to him before taking a seat on one of the blankets. She then laid the umbrella right over her lap and made sure she had a tight grip on its handle.

In case anyone thought to sit next to her, she'd poke them like they were one of those stupid signs.

See now this was a Professor that appreciated hair. Just look at it. And if you factor in the beard it was just Awesomely Awesome. It was a good distraction from the aching in his legs from the long walk here. Maybe Nigel should ask him after class how he takes care of it since he is outside with animals all day.

"Hello Professor"

Those padded blankets do look comfortable.

Not that it bothered Huxley. She has grown quite adept of keeping herself warm with even lesser resources than what the castle or her own wand can provide. She has however always been quite mindful of where she sits, always liked the nice and soft you know?

Being all the way out here in a glorified zoo wasnt such places unfortunately Although she did spy them padded blankets. Gooood. She was about to make her way towards one of them when the creature caught her eye. "An Irish Phoenix?" She hasnt seen a live one before. Oh right theres a Professor there too "Oh yes hello Professor." she added as a bit of an after thought. Hey at least she greeted right?

Now to park her derrière.

Alex walked through the grounds headed toward the Care of Magicall Creatures class. She wondered if she had time to say a quick hello to the animals in the stables, but decided against it. Being late for the first class would definitely not be good. Perhaps she would get a chance after class.....yes that would be better.

Finally arriving at the field, Alex noticed blankets placed on the ground, for the students to sit on she assumed. Oh man, that was not going to make her body feel good. Already stiff and achy, Alex did not think sitting on the ground was going to help her situation. Spotting the Professor up ahead, she greeted him. "Hello Professor Thompson", she said. Then Alex slowly and gingerly lowered herself onto the blanket popping and creaking all the way. She tried to get comfortable as she waited for class to begin.

Magical Creatures. Yep. One of Delilah's favourite subjects.

The Hufflepuff made her way to the barnyard area, tucking her hands deep into the pockets of her jacket. Oh, man. It was rather cold. Extremely cold, in fact. She wasn't sure if she was ever going to get used to this weather. Heh.

"Hello, professor!" She greeted him with a smile before flopping down on one of the comfortable-looking blankets. This was rather nice. If only she wasn't freezing. Brrr.

Ian headed toward the CoMC class. Problem was that it was hard to navigate the terrain with his hip hurting so bad and using the cane he'd found. Additionally, when he woke up this morning, he glanced in the mirror and was flabbergasted to find that almost all the hair on top of his head seemed to be gone and he'd begun sprouting little white whiskers all over his chin. He kind of liked the whiskers, but could have done without the other stuff.

As he approached the location of the class, he saw what he assumed was the professor and greeted her with a somewhat grumpy sounding hello. He looked around and saw blankets with students sitting on them. How does this daft woman expect me to sit on the ground in this condition? Ian wondered to himself as he stared at the sickly looking bird in the cage. He slowly lowered himself to the ground and failed to keep himself from jarring his hip in the process. He winced in pain as he tried to find a comfortable position in which to sit.

Sander made his way down the grounds and headed in the direction of the barnyard. He couldn't wait for the Care of Magical Creatures lesson to start. He didn't know the reason for the umbrella but he brought it along with him anyway.

Following the directional signs which the Professor had thoughtfully placed along the way, Sander eventually made his way to an open field. He noticed that Bay and Alex were already there and waved to them. He noticed a green black colored bird sitting on a stand and recognized it immediately. Were they working with Augureys today?

Sander looked past the bird to the Professor sitting in a chair next to the bird. He quickly walked up and greeted him .

"Hello Professor, that's a beautiful Augurey you have there. Are we expecting to have some rain today?" Sander jokingly asked the man. Then he walked over to the padded blankets, sat down, took his journal and quill out of his backpack, and waited for class to start.

Time for Care of Magical creatures. Bart brushed his longer beard out of the way as he made sure his robes were tighter. The winter weather was moving in and it was colder. He had been in London since his mum moved, but he still wasn't use to colder weather. He hated it really. Moving down towards the grounds he wasn't feeling his hyper happy self.

Getting up on the wrong side of the bed was hard to do as a twelve year old, but he feared he had done it. Either that or all these other crabs were rubbing off on him lately. Either way he wasn't looking forward to class even though animals were one of his favorite things. He would try to make the best of it and forced his self to the field.

Looking at the bird Bart figured it was what they were learning about and shrugged, "Sup Professor" He nodded though he shouldn't have as he rubbed his neck. Seemed he slept on it wrong as well. This day was just getting worse and worse now wasn't it. To top it off he had found a small bald patch on the top of his head. Thankfully having shaggier hair he could hide the spot easier.

Seeing blankets he found a spot and sat down. Class time right.

Sophie headed out the castle and onto the grounds of the school. She knew the direction to go, but...why did the walk seem to be taking so much more time? She trudged along, moving sooooooooo sloooooooowly. What in the name of Merlin? Probably just the cold.

She finally reached the classroom area and took note of the professor. "Hello, Professor," she said...



"...and I'm Sophie Newell," she added, taking a seat beside Adi. Wow. She was in a good mood today.

Even though she had her somewhat bulky cloak on over her robes, Brynn crossed her arms tightly over chest, feeling awfully self-conscious. She made up her mind to talk to one of the older girls after class later in the safety of her dorm room about proper garments. But for now she hung back at the side of the class trying not to draw any attention to herself. The first year had also pulled her hood up over her head, her mostly red hair pulled back into a neat bun. It better hid the few embarrassing grey hairs she had found over the past couple days. The growth spurt might be seen as remotely normal but she wasn't so sure about her hair.

The first year chose a spot on one of the blankets closest to the edge of class in the back, not speaking to anyone, not even greeting the professor. Hopefully she slipped in without him or anyone else seeing her, not wanting anyone's eyes on her. If it were up to her, she'd hide in the dorm today as she felt super awkward for some reason. As she waited for class to begin, brown eyes fell on Bart who wasn't too far away. Was he growing a beard? Huh.

Oichi felt really excited for the first COMC lesson of term. COMC was the one time you got to learn about living creatures and see extroidinary things that are not even known about in the muggle world. And sure she had been going to lessons for six years, surly the novelty of it would have worn off by now. Not for Oichi. She happily pranced down to the location of the lesson and saw the professor and an interesting looking bird. "Good day professor, whats the name of that bird and is that what we shall be studying today", Oichi asked giddily, she just loved COMC.

For some unknown reason, Benjy's knee had decided to start clicking on the way from the Ravenclaw Common Room, and despite much rubbing and shaking of his leg, seven floors later the cracking noise seemed to have no intention of stopping. His left knee cap just kept on crunching. Admittedly, he had taken a hard kick to the knee in practice the other day, but a bruise hadn't yet appeared.

"Hi Professor," Benjy greeted as he entered the field, bending over to lightly rub the soreness in his knee again. They were meant to sit on the blankets, right? Well, too late if he wasn't. Benjy plopped down and tried massaging his knee some more. Stupid thing.

Emma was excited for this class. The outdoors and working with the creatures were totally her thing. She skipped along the grounds, working her way down to the barnyard and taking note of the signs that would lead her to where they were going to be having class for the day. Ah. There.

She grinned at the sight of all of the padded blankets, her smile widening even more at the sight of the bird. Emma loved birds.

"Good day professor!" She greeted the man cheerfully before plopping down on one of the blankets. Yes. Today was going to be a good one.

Brr. It was freezing.
Louis had been really looking forward to this class, but now that the day had finally arrived, he felt rather... down. It had nothing to do with the class and all to do with the grey hairs creating a Cruella de Vil effect on his head. Blah.

"Morning, Professor."

Ooh, were those padded blankets? The boy's expression lit up at the sight before he proceeded to sit like most other students had already done. He exhaled into his hands in an attempt to keep them warm and watched the sad, thin bird a few feet away with curious blue eyes. Was that an augurey?

OHMIGOSH. HIS KNEES. Caleb felt like his knees were on FIRE. Walking all the way out here, in the cold, from the dungeons had been pure torture. He really needed to exercise more if he was going to survive this term - let alone QUIDDITCH. He didn't want to have to tell Wes that he was bowing out of his position because of joint pain. What an old man problem. So embarrassing.

"Hello Professor!" he smiled through his pain at the new professor, who he hadn't introduced himself to yet. Then again, he didn't know his name, so he'd wait for the older dude to ask them for theirs.

See, the signs? The signs were helpful. Tobias was so distracted with his thoughts that he kind of kept forgetting where he was going, and the signs took away any requirement to think for himself. Mostly, he was thinking about his achin' knees. His grandmother had sent him a muggle painkiller type of gel, swearing that it worked better than the potions she got for her back, almost like muggle magic. He'd used it, and it was working well, but Toby was constantly thinking about when it would wear off.

And then there was the hair thing. TThe part he most hated didn't seem to be getting any worse, but he'd definitely found grey hair number 7. So that was on his mind too.

When he reached the field kind of area, Tobias blinked and pulled his cloak tighter around him. It was collllld, but Care of Magical Creatures almost always meant being outside, so he was prepared.

Tobias was still unusually quiet compared to how he usually was, but he offered the professor a friendly wave, grin and a "Hi!" before sitting down on one of the padded blankets, somewhere where he could get a good view of that bird, and making himself comfortable.

Gwen made her way through the chilly air down to Care of Magical Creatures. Since Defense was not turning out to be a martial arts class, this had moved to number one on her list of favorites. She already knew about the flying horses and things, so it was promising to be pretty exciting, even if it was cold outside. It was always cold here though. Except, due to them measuring temperatures in Celsius, Gwen had no idea just how cold it was. She was raised with Fahrenheit and it was the only one that made sense to her.

She didn't normally greet professors. It was weird, and unnecessary. She had waved to Elwood and maybe nodded at the other teachers, but since she'd already met Professor Thompson, it might be rude not to greet him. She smiled and waved cheerily before wrapping her arm back securely around her shoulder to keep her warm. "Hi Professor Thompson." That was good, yeah? She didn't have to say 'hello' or 'good day' did she? 'Hi' was an okay form of greeting. It wasn't 'hey.' Her mother hated it when she said that. Hay is for horses and cows, she always said. Even though it had been pointed out to her that the two were spelled differently.

Adi was once again dismayed. That horrid beard seemed to be growing back. He could feel the stubble as he rubbed his finger against his chin.He'd need another shave! Oh Merlin! As if the grey hair and slowness were not enough. He was so distracted he didn't even notice Sophie approaching until he heard her voice.

"Oh, hey there, Sophie,'' Adi said and for the first time he didn't need to fight the urge to keep looking at her. The only thing that had his attention was the thought of how like some of the others, he was rapidly aging.

Brrrrrrr!

Holding his umbrella in his hand, Alec made his way down to the grounds in a leisurely manner. Back issues. Again. It didn't help that the weather was cold and grey and really, very miserable. His back... didn't like that. What did help were the signs that were dotted here and there that were leading towards the Care of Magical Creatures class. Thank you, new professor.

And speaking of professor, THERE he was. A small grin spread across the eighteen year old's face as he neared the man and the rest of the class. "Hello Professor! Erm... thanks for the signs." Nod. ... And was that a bird? An Augurey? He'd... ask his girlfriend. The girl knew a lot about all things creatures. Giving the older man a small wave, the boy turned away to see...

... blankets? Did this mean they could bundle up? Or have a picnic? Picnics sounded great.

Spotting a particular blonde, the Head Boy ambled over towards her and lowered himself slowly onto the padded blanket next to hers. "Hey, Ells!" he leaned over and whispered, "That's... an Augurey, right?" His grey-blue eyes darted from the bird to the sky and then back again. Maybe this was why they were asked to bring umbrellas.

Class with animals... Sarah was loking forward to the magical kind. At the farm she only dealt with the mundane kind. This had a whole picnic look to it. Sarah sat down on the blancket. She hoped it was okay.
She took out her things and watched the bird. What she needed to greet the professr. "good day professor' she said
