The High Benches of Courtroom 10 As numerous wizards and witches are expected to attend the debates between Reagan Taylor and Brennan Cooper, arrangements have been made for the debates to be held down in Courtroom Ten, the largest one. After taking the stairs from Level Nine to this, you reach dingy looking corridors that lead to some heavy, dark granite doors which have been kindly left propped wide open encouraging people to enter. It is within these doors that you notice how very lightened the courtrooms appear compared to preconceived notions. Clearly someone must have used a charm to brighten the room for the occasion of the debates. The room is outlined in rows of high benches, overlooking a podium with a microphone, and about ten chairs in the middle. Take your seats quickly . . . the debates are about to begin! |
DH, being the member of the research committee, was early for the debate. He looked around and it was already set up. Courtroom 10 He then noticed their campaign manager and approached her. "Hello, Ms. Vivaldi. What can I do to help?" he said asking for something to do. |
Iridesca hurried down to the room for the debates. She was dressed extra spiffy today. She had bought a new red and white outfit with some shiny heels to match for today's debate. She wanted to make sure to look good today. She walked in to see a couple of familiar faces getting things set up. She liked to be early in case there were things that needed to be organized or set up. She walked over to the two familiar faces and said, "Hey! Is there anything ya'll need help with?" she said with her usual smile on her face. |
Liliana made her way down the hall. Her skirt swaying slightly as she walked. She hadn't wanted to look to formal for this event, but not casual either, eventually she had settled on a little of both. She was really looking forward to the debate, and as she pushed open the door to the courtroom she took a couple minutes to take everything in and think about what was happening. As the door swung shut behind her she noticed that there was only two other people in the room. She made her way over to them, her heels clicking on the floor as she went. "Hello," she said, she'd met one of these people before, but she couldnt recall the females name, though, she did know she was a Department Head like her. "Is there anything I can help with?" she asked casually. |

Help? He wanted to help? "Well it seems everything has pretty much fallen into place . . ." Sophia began thoughtfully. "But if you did want to help, then I suppose I could use an usher to get people seated as quickly as possible. Once everyone is seated, then you may have a seat on one of the ends, just so you can keep an eye on any rowdy or inappropriate behavior. The candidates of course, must be protected." Quote:
"Nope. Just make sure you're ready for the debates, as you'll be starting us off in just a few hours, after myself and a gentleman from Law Enforcement give some introductions of the candidates. Just take a seat, third one from the podium in the center. The first two will be reserved for Brennan and Reagan." |
Becca slid into the room and looked around with a smile. Was Brian going to be down with Taylor? Or would he sit with her and watch? She nodded to the lady who seemed to be directing others and approached her "Hello, I was wondering, is there anything I can do?" she asked, offering help was the least she could do. And she was keeping an eye on Taylor anyway, but knowing Nicoli would be down there, she felt a little more relaxed, even if it was only a tiny bit, it was still more relaxed. |
Jonathan still had a bit of time to kill until the debate started. As the centre of the venerable old courtroom was empty, he wandered, hands buried deep in the pockets of his robes, up to the benches surrounding the, as it were, political arena. A few of his fellow Independent campaigners were assembled there as well, chatting among themselves. He leaned up against the railing and looked down, humming quietly to himself. He wasn't, to his surprise, at all nervous. In a few minutes, he was going to ask the two candidates some questions of high importance, but he still felt strangely calm. On the other hand, it wasn't him who had to corkscrew his way around the questions, that was the politicians' job. And when it came down to it, there was always the possibility of a gaffe barrage from one of them. Or, if he was really lucky, from both. |
After recieving the memo from Liliana, their Head of Department, Diana rushed down to Level Ten to the debates. It is a democracy, right? Already in the room, she looked around. A few Heads were talking to each other. There, Di could see Iridesca, her new boss and Liliana; she waved at both and then also to the lady who was talking to them. She seemed to be the one in charge of the campaign and elections, yes...right??? Sigh. She was in like deep stress now. As for now, she was only going to listen to the candidates and their propositions to take over the Ministry of Magic. That's when...Gasp...just a little one, though. There he was, Jonathan Windswept. Di smiled wide as she approached to him. "Good day, Jonathan..." She greeted. |
Jonathan was staring dreamily into space. Pleasant visions of the Undersecretary stammering her way through a warped answer to a straightforward question were interrupted when a voice next to him spoke. He blinked, and turned around. A second pleasant vision, although of a different kind, stood before him. And what's more, it wasn't even a vision. "Diana," he said, smiling widely. So she would see him in action, too! "Are you here for the debate, too?" He pointed into the courtroom below. "You can see yours truly posing hard-hitting questions to the candidates." He gave a little mock bow, then straightened up again, winking at her. "How are you?" |
Diana giggled as of Jonathan's reaction. She nodded and smiled when commenting he would be there, making questions for the candidates, hard they were going to see. "Well, I shall get proud then..." She told him and grinned. "Umm...I am good, thank you." She hesitated to answer to that question, it was sort of confusing at that moment. "I actually came here to see if I could help..." She said, making her way towards the bosses, Sophia, Liliana and Iridesca. "But tell me, how are you?" She asked him. It had been about two weeks that because of election campaigns Di had not heard a word about him nor from him. It became kind of sad for her, as time it was. |

And all that meant he had seen less of Diana, too. He was a little unsure of where, exactly, the two of them were at in the churning and dangerous waters that were romantic relationships. He was pretty sure he, well, liked her. He tried to clear his head of these confusing and distracting thoughts. Taking Diana's elbow lightly, he said, "Do you want to go and talk to them, see if you can help? I can introduce you if you don't know the people from the Independent campaign. But I think we should be pretty much set for tonight." |
Iain moved into the Courtroom, and wondered whether or not he should save a seat for Lili, who he could see was talking to Miss Vivaldi. Hmm. He took a seat, which had unoccupied seats next to him so that she could sit with him if she wished too. He would understand if she didn't want to, they were at work afterall. |
Nathan wandered happily into Courtroom number 10 having had his fill of ice cream at the Reagan Rally.. followed by fish and chips, chocolate cake and firewhiskey at Brennan Coopers'. Today had been a good day. He couldn't wait to see what freebies they were going to be dishing out here to bribe the punters. ..More food with any luck. Patting his full stomach, he took a seat at the back near to the exit just in case this debating thing became terribly dull and his eyes started to droop. With all that free food and drink it was a very likely outcome indeed ...unless of course there was more food on offer to help to keep him awake. Sitting where he was, he could easily do a runner without being seen if needs be. |

Eep! Diana nodded, excited as Jonathan suggested her to meet the Independent Campaign people. "Sure, I'd love to..." She said, almost jumping. Great, meeting new people and she knew she could help out on anything for this time. But first of all. "May I know their names first? I don't want to look like a bit ignorant about tonight. And I need to know who am I going to work for...yeah..." She was mumbling. Sort of the effects of being around Jonathan, perhaps? |

"Oh well," Must appear calm, not frazzled, Sophia reminded herself coolly. "I suppose you two could help make sure people get seated alright and well, uh, you..." Indicating to Becca - though her name was unknown to Sophia, "Perhaps you could set up a refreshment table with coffees, teas, and cookies in case people need a 'pep-me-up' during the debates." She shrugged, eying the center again. Oh. No one here yet. "But uh, I really ought to get down to the center. You two are in charge of making sure people are seated alright, okay?" With that, Sophia smoothed her black dress (with pink polka-dots, mind you) and made her way down towards the podium. |

Richard appeared in the doorway and closed it behind him. He had managed a quick cleaning charm on his clothes before he had entered so no soot remained. He made his way to the benches and sat down ready for the debate to start. He noticed alot of people had already turned up. Richard nodded to a few of them. "Alright?" he said quietly to a woman near him whom he had reason to believe was part of international cooperation. |

"Thanks" Richard replied. "Hasn't started yet then?" he asked with his hands on his knees looking around. He had an inkling of what might ensue but then again he could be wrong. He asked the witch next to him after his eyes had scanned half of the courtroom "I suppose this is all about the campaigns then?" |
Samantha walked into the courtroom and approached the benches which had been set up for the debate. Smoothing her skirt down, she took a seat and began to wait for the debates to begin. The election was finally happening, and this was so exciting! She did hope that Reagan would do the best, and she was certain and confident that she would, she was the best candidate, after all. Samantha saw a few people she recognized, including Becca from Law Enforcement, her good friend who had recently become engaged to Brian, the Department Head. She gave her a smile and a quick wave. |
Iridesca smiled at her Campaign Manager and then followed her directions. She walked up to the chairs at the front and took the third one. She crossed her legs and it was only then that her pants moved up enough to show her new purple polka dotted heels, which she was extra proud of and matched her new outfit perfectly. She sat there waiting for the other questioneers to arrive. She was really excited to get things started and couldn't wait to meet both of the candidates. |

After she'd conjured up a smallish table to hold them, she nodded and then thought about the refreshments. Tea, cookies and... coffee, well maybe no one will notice if I pass on that. She sighed and flicked her wand at the table again, nodding as tea, coffee and cookies appeared on the table and with them, a note which said Quote:

Kristofer, setting everything else aside for the day, decided to make his way over to the courtrooms. He might as well, seeing as how they were only a floor away and he was bored. His employees weren't being very responsive, and that disheartened him for right now. It was time for a break, to at least come and watch the debates. Maybe he'd get some fun out of this. As he sauntered his way into the high benches, he looked around to see who all was here. There were some faces he had seen running around the Ministry, but none of whom he had talked to. Recently, anyway. This was not one of his best days, really. Then his eyes landed on a familiar face, with an unfamiliar man. One eyebrow raised, he watched how the two reacted. He looked around him to see if anyone was watching what he was doing, and no one was. So, he proceeded to walk a little to the left and turn slightly to see if he could hear anything. It was probably boring, but he wanted to say something to Diana, except, she looked busy. Hmph. And, there was another familiar face near the refreshment table. He smirked and put his hands in his pockets, walking towards his former boss. "Well hello Becca. How are you?" It only seemed fit to say hello after a little while. Hopefully she wouldn't attack him again. |
Mike walked into the room, looking around as he smoothed down his robes. It was the big moment... the big debate between Cooper and Reagan. And he was so excited that he had drank four cups of coffee before he came to the courtroom! Smiling he turned to the women that stood before the entrance. Mike had seen both ladies before, so he hoped he had gotten their names correct. "G'day Miss Todd. Miss Hayman. Cheerful day isn't it?" he asked them, lightly as he nodded his head in acknowledgment. |
