The conference room is where the International Magical Cooperation Department holds its meetings. It is also the proper place to greet visitors from other countries who come to solve international conundrums involving non-tradable items or disputes between different magical governments.

The room is rectangular in shape and there is plenty of fluorescent artificial light on the ceiling.

Kaitlin entered the Affairs room, noticing no one was in there yet. Guess I'm early, she thought.

Lee walks briskly into the Affairs room with his papers in hand and sees only one person there, which thankfully was a member of his department. He walked over and sat down next to the woman, waiting for more people to show up and to get started.

Tabetha had come from the break room to head into the confrense room. Her head had told her that she needed to be there for an important meeting, but as she stepped in no one was there but one person. The girl wasn't even her boss.

She sighed and went straight for the right hand chair next to the big chair at the very end of the long table. She sat down and swiveled around, sicne the chair could go in circles and waited for more people.

She flipped open her note pad and put down the date anf time of the meeting and who was involved. After that she sat back and relaxed for a bit.

Matos did not hesitate to venture into the Affairs room. After al, she had announced the meeting approximately 11 minutes ago. She was the boss, though. She was allowed to be late even if it was just once. It was this thought alone that kept her from blushing profusely when she entered the room.

Frozen to the entrance at the almost empty sight of the room, she pursed her lips together, Gregoria's way of scowling and dropped some papers on the large table in front of the room.

"I don't have time to wait for people," she announced, fingertips on the table, Greg had yet to take a seat. "Those who are late will receive a minor infraction."

Heaving her third sigh of the day, she took a seat and tried to smile. It didn't quite work out.

"As you all know, the Quidditch World Cup is just around the corner and we need to ensure the number of seats available at the stadium among um..." Greg paused and flipped through her papers. In her annoyance she had forgotten what she was going to say. Thank Merlin for notes.

Tabetha saw The Head of the department come and and she automatically knew it was time for the meeting to begin, even if people weren't here. Miss Matos was always on top of things and never liked to start late.

Tabetha sat up and paid close atention and hung on every word her boss said, afterall it was an important meeting. She took notes on her pad, jotting things down here and there making sure she got the biggest details. That's how you were suppose to take notes, write the most important parts, skip the meaning less junk.

"What people are coming from the representing teams countries Miss matos?" Tabetha spoke up hoping it was the right answer.

"Good question," remarked Greg flipping through her papers. She never could get her head wrapped around the idea of flying on a broom and avoiding possibly deadly balls of doom as a form of entertainment. "I haven't been informed yet but--What we need right now is to verify how many seats are available in the Top Box. We're going to have to reserve some for the Ministry Officials of both countries playing so please get me a number of seats and write a report to me so I can forward it to the Minister."

Flipping through her pages again, she paused before giving out further tasks.

After an unsatisfyingly short break, Noelle started down the hall to her work station. Hopefully some people in my division show up soon, she thought to herself, thinking of the tasks waiting to be tackled. Before she could reach her destination, however, she glanced through the open door of the conference room, spotting Miss Matos and a few others sitting inside. Her eyes widened a bit as she turned back on her heel - which was throbbing like no other in her deathly, albeit fashionable, stilettos.

"How couldn't I have known about this meeting?" she whispered to herself, trying to slide imperceptibly through th doorway. It really wasn't like her to forget such important things. Taking the nearest seat, Noelle offered Miss Gatos an apologetic glance before reaching into her blazer pocket for a small pad and pen. Hearing Tabetha ask about "people coming to represent teams," Noelle quickly fathomed that the topic was the World Cup. A bit more relieved, Noelle eased into her chair and awaited the head of department's answer.

Tabetha nodded at her reply to the question and started jotting her tasks for right now. The work load never seemed to go down in this place.

She started flipping to the next page as her notes flowed over. She made sure everything she had written was right. "Ok I'll do that and get in contact with both countries to see how many they are suppose to bring and then how many are left over for the "Special Guests" that the Minister wants up at the Top Box".

Looking around at the other people, just so she was sure about the countries, she wasn't a big Quidditch fan, she asked. "Does anyone know the two teams playing, just to make sure I have the right numbers to call?" she asked in general.

Kaitlin listened to every word, abosorbing them like a sponge. Quidditch World Cup! How could she have forgotten about that. She wasn't sure which teams were playing and she felt guilty. She was usually on top of her Quidditch facts, but ever since she started her job, that nonsense seemed to have been left behind in the dust.

Gregoria pretended not to notice the late entrant and instead pushed on with her instructions. "I'll be sending in memos to your divisions shortly with proper instructions on what your tasks are."

Shifting through her notes she decided to give them a little overview of the current situation in case some didn't t know already.

"The Minister of Magic from the German Magical Government is upset with the one from the French Government, because, I don't know if you've heard," spoke Matos as if she was quite amused by it all. "Their children have run off together and eloped and are currently missing. It has caused all sorts of trouble which we need to solve I'll--"

Then it occurred to Greg that she didn't quite have the letters with her. Oh, rats! Not the lousy memory again.

"Right. I'll send you memos! Meeting over!" And with his Matos hurried out of the Affairs room. "No questions! No questions!" As she exited, she left the door open. She must have let the papers somewhere amongst the other set of candles.

Kaitlin tried not to snicker at the fact the German and French children had eloped. It seemed amusing to her. After they were dismissed Kaitlin left the room silently, heading back for her desk.

Lee listened intently to Miss Matos, hanging on to her every word. He already knew the current situation with France and Germany, so he let his mind wonder to his future conversation that he would be holding with them as soon as this meeting was over. Next thing he knew was Miss Matos hurried out of the room!

"Wha - ? wai- ?" Lee sat there opened mouth for a minute or two before realizing that the meeting was over and that he should leave to go back to his office. He stood up slowly and then hurried off to his office to get Germany and France on the phone.

Persephone walked into the deserted conference room and started taking measurements and figuring demintions for her back-up plan involving the current case. "Perfect," Persephone mused," I hope it doesn't resort to my presentation, but perfect." After a few final measurements she left to go back to her cubicle and couldn't help but wonder if she can do a charm to maximize her space.

Gregoria Matos entered the Affairs room, closely followed by Minister Tatou and Minister Muller. The men didn't seem at all pleased. Pulling out two chairs she spoke to both of the Minister alternatively, asking them to take a seat in their native language.

Minister Tatou ran a hand down his cleans haven face. He was obviously the younger one and he sported a full set of dark hair. Minister Muller busied himself with stroking his overly bushy copper colored hair.

Miss Matos, inconspicuously stuck her wand out from behind her sending several red flashes of light. Where were her people?

"I am sorry I am late Miss Matos," Persephone panted, "but there was an incident involving puffskeins and plimpies..." Placing a platter of Gillywater and cauldron cakes she found a seat. "I hope I haven't wasted to much of your time," she said turning to the ministers and smiling, "now let's find a truce."

Matos simply smiled amicably, still not wanting to take a seat. She was going to wait a little longer for the rest of her employees to arrive. "Not at all," chirped Gregoria. "The Minister have just arrived and are eager to discuss treaties."

In their seats, the two men scowled. This was going to a be tough one.

"Just a little longer now, Monsieur Tatou," whispered Matos as the French Minister of Magic turned to ask her how long until the meeting officially begun. "We are a bit earlier than anticipated. How very responsible of you both to arrive ten minutes that the time cited in the letter."

A little sucking up never hurt anyone.

Fighting the urge to laugh, Persephone tried to break the ice, "Anyone want a Cauldron Cake, or Gillywater? I can go fetch some butterbeer if anybody would fancy it." Looking from Minister Muller to Minister Tatou and then back to her boss awaiting their reaction. "If their is anything at all that would make this meeting more comfortable, then please do let me know," Persephone stated with an awkward smile. Tough crowd she thought to herself.

"It is okay; we haven't been here long. I don't think it is even time for the meeting to start yet," said Persephone thinking on it for a moment, "we are just waiting for a few more people." Just then a thought crossed her mind-would the German minister look better in Emerald or Scarlet colored robes or maybe a Ochre....

Monsieur Tatou declared his passion for firewhiskey in rapid-fire french, alternating hand gestures to convey the message across, a wide grin on his too youthful face. Minister Muller only caught a few words but nodded eagerly at the firewhiskey mention. It seemed it was the only common ground they shared.

Miss Matos however, didn't think firewhiskey was an appropriate drink to have when about to hold a meeting. It wasn't her place to state so but she could steer the conversation elsewhere. She was quite good at that.

"I hear there is this lovely tea made with just a drop of bundimun essence that helps clean out your digestive system," she chirped taking a seat. "Speaking of bundimun. Monsieur Tatou, I hear your Bundimun market is thriving yet you refuse to trade with the German Magical Government I'm sure that you have more product that your country could ever use."

Minister Muller once more nodded eagrtly, pounding his fist as he spoke angrily about the injustice of it all and how he has to pay twice what he was paying the French Magical Government all because the sneaky thief of a son that Tatou had had bedazzled his daughter and run off with her.

Monsieur Tatou did not appreciate having his son insulted and he retorted with a clever comment about Muller's daughter's habit of changing boyfriends as often as she changes clothes.

Trying to change the subject Pan said quite plainly, "This could work out to both of your advantages, you know?" Searching the ministers' faces for any sign of a reaction she continued only this time addressed the French minister, " and if I were a betting woman I'd bet that your country could benifit from Germany's rich plant resources."

Lee hurried towards the Affairs room as fast as he could, but stopped just outside the door. Oh no! The meeting has already started! He glanced down at the thick pile of paperwork regarding the two governments at hand, and sighed. He knew that he had taken just a tad too long figuring out some solutions to the problems.

Lee hated entering meetings late, but looking down at his watch, he saw that it was still 2 minutes till 9:30. So why had Miss Matos started early? Perhaps she was just trying to keep them occupied until the other employees showed up and the meeting really hadn't started yet. Either way, he needed to be inside and not out.

He quietly opened the door and slipped inside. He took a seat on the right side of Miss Matos, and set his paperwork down in front of him. "Sorry I'm late, I lost track of time figuring out this dilemma." He whispered to his boss.

Arianna sneaked inside the room as quietly as she could, her heart bumping quickly on her chest due to the fact that the meeting had already started. Did she have to arrive late to everything that day? First she had been late to work and then late to a meeting. What else would she be late to?

'Excuse me' She apologized shyly as she took a seat next to Lee. She shot him a small smile before she looked at the Ministers and Miss Matos. Well, one thing was for sure, there weren't many people inside that room were there? And this only meant that she was not the only one who was late, so she couldn't exactly be punished in any way. However, on a second thought, if more people arrived late, the Ministers would probably think they didn't take their work seriously and that could not happen.

Ari kept her lips closed shut as she waited for the meeting to continue.
