Department Head Lounge Located off the corridor of Level One is a heavy wooden door with an ornately molded silver knob, behind which is the comfortably furnished Department Head Lounge. Couches, coffee and end tables, lamps, mirrors, plants, and much more await the Department Heads who step through this door. OOC: If you aren't a Department Head, you are not allowed to post in this thread. |
Egypt got the memo about the new lounge for the department heads, and she was eager to how it was decked out. And plus she needed a nice place to put her swollen, pregnant feet up. After she got off the lifts she used her department head ID to open the door. She walked in the the lights clicked on. "Nice," she smiled as she looked around at the sofas. She pointed her wand at the fridge and a bottle of chilled gilly water danced across the room into her outstretched hand. She settled into the sofa and opened her water. |
Theo bounced up to the first floor. He had been waiting for years to have a place to kip without his wife's interruption. He swished in, swiping his ID. He just arrived in time to see a drink float past him, "Lazy lazy," he chuckled. He followed the drink, "You are looking radiant Egypt. How long do you have left?" He flopped down on the sofa and put his feet up. It was nap time. Since he hadn't slept that well the night before. |

"Call me Theo please. How many times have I told you?" he chuckled. "We are all equals here. Except Cooper. But he isn't here right now. Probably off galavanting with his wife. If only we could do such things." He rested his head on the back of the sofa. His hands supporting it. "3 months? Wow. Keep going. I am never doing that again. 3 kids is enough for me now." |

She looked at him. "Well we are on lucky number 7 right here." She patted her stomach. "Another set of twins," She explained. |
Theo nodded, "Yeah. She is one of my division heads. Can't seem to get rid of her." He smiled. He loved working with his wife. He was glad she hadn't decided to take time off to have the baby. "We have just had number three and that is more than enough. Trust me with Junior to run around after and now a baby. It is hard. At least one will just lie around. Junior you have to entertain. I am glad he is at Hogwarts. So we can get past the difficult stage with the baby. He is 3 months old now, which is hard." He shook his head, "I can't understand how you can have 7." |
She envied Theo that he got to work with his more closely than her and Nathan could. "Oh Nathan is with the MLES on level two. I miss him terribly during the day," She admitted. "I used to be up there with the Wizengamot, but I wanted a promotion so I took up the post on level 8," She explained. She nodded and she listened to him talk. "Well its just something we both want. Me and Nathan come from large families, and I guess we want our children to have that same thing." She explained. "Well we always have one child to chase after another child. So me and Nathan don't have to do too much of that, and I guess me and him are both big kids ourselves so we run and play with the children as much as we can." She offered. "Paris and Willow are off at Hogwarts, and Lucas is staying home this term, but then the twins will be starting muggle primary school this years. So the house will be almost empty." She said softly. |
"Get Nathan to come work for you then," Theo chuckled, "It is the best thing to happen. Alina used to be my Secretary. Which I miss. Because now I have to tidy my own desk." "I have a tiny family. Me and my parents. I guess I would've been happy with just the one child. But then Nia popped out after Theo. And Alina getting pregnant again, too many children." He was doing rather well Nate was a handful, but Theo hoped he would be a smart boy. "That is still a few kids roaming around. We just have Nathaniel at the moment." |
There was a soft creek as the door to the lounge opened up, and Ben Cobblesten walked in, a copy of the Daily Prophet tucked under his arm. He was whistling happily to himself as he ducked to fit under the doorway, and smiled happily at the sight of Theo and Egypt, who were already in conversation, it seemed. Taking a seat on the nearest unoccupied sofa and tucking his newspaper in safely next to him, he turned to his fellow Department Heads and grinned. "Hello there, how are you two today?" he asked, keeping one hand on his newspaper, just in case they told him to shut it and not interrupt their conversation. |
Jen and Lissy:) "I wish he would come down to level eight to work for me, but I don't know if he would like that," She told him. She had never asked Nathan if he wanted to work security for her anyways, he might. That was a good idea. She would ask him about that when she got home. "It wouldn't kill you to do a bit of tiding," She told him with a smile. Men were hopeless when it came to "women's" work. "Well I had eleven sisters, I was the second to last one. My oldest sister Asia was almost 25 by the time I came along. And Nathan is the oldest of 6 children." She explained. "I would have thought Nia was the oldest." She commented. Nia was so much bigger than Theo and his tiny bat. She couldn't remember what he called it. "Oh your son's name is Nathaniel," She said the name with a twinkle in her eye. She looked up as the door opened again. It seemed this place was long needed around her, and she was glad it was here. She would have to thank Reagen, she knew it was her doing and not Cooper's. "Oh I am just fine thanks," She answered back. She had no idea who the man was but he was massive, like Warren. He would dwarf her like a child. "I'm Egypt Greenwood," She would have stood up to shake his hand but she was loath to move again so soon after have landed her pregnant bottom in the sofa. |
Theo smiled, another boy had entered. "Hey Ben. Welcome to our secret room." He turned to Egypt, "One of 12. How does one fund that many children?" He shook his head, "No Theo is about 20 minutes older than Nia. Something called superfaetation. Theo was concieved later on in Nia's pregnacy. I don't really understand it all." He shrugged. He had two children, both were healthy, and that was all that mattered. He nodded, "Yeah we went for Nathaniel this time. Nice alliteration though, Nathaniel Newtington." |

Theo's eyebrows rose. 12 children seemed rather ridiculous. He would hate to have them. "I am an only child. I don't think I could manage having more than one sibling." He frowned, "5 sets of twins? That is rather silly. And a bit unproportionate. 1 in 80 births is a twin birth. Your family seems to have them all." |

"I used to talk to my house elf. I wasn't really missing much. And then I met Alina. I was happy," Theo smiled. "Africa may have different views. But here is England. A family usually has two. Three maximum really. 1 is more common place." He wanted no more children. He would have to tell Alina that. "So, any gossip I ought to know about?" he asked, "Anything new happening in this place?" |

She giggled. "Well Reagan is going to run against the Minister in the upcoming campaign." She told him. She wanted the world to know that they were finally going to have a quality Minister in charge. |
Theo frowned, ignoring the beginning of what Egypt actually said. "What? Reagan is running against Brennan?" he chuckled and then shook his head, "This I want to see. Obviously a joke. Brennan just needs someone to run against. Shame it had to be Reagan though. She would do really well. Were she to wait until he was retiring." |

Instead, Ben was practically doing a little jig. Finally, a worthy opponent for their incompetent Minsiter! He couldn't help but let a grin shape across his face. Things were about to change around here, BIG time. |
After receipt of the memo about a new lounge, Lorraine decided it was finally time to investigate this. Of course she didn't have excessive amounts of time on her hands what with the unauthorized porkeys, apparition lessons, and all kinds of other transportation dilemmas, but just a quick peek wouldn't hurt. Stepping off the jangling lift onto level one, the brunette walked eloquently down the corridor in search of the door. Lorraine knew what area the Department of Magical Education was, as well as the Minister's office, so she headed off towards the opposite end. There at the end of the corridor rested an ornate wooden door complete with a silver knob. Turning the handle, the Magical Transportation Department Head creaked the door open and slipped inside, shutting it gently behind her before gazing around to see if anyone was there. Theo Newtington from Level Seven - figures. That man was lazier than an ox. Egypt from Security and Maintenance, whom she didn't particularly know very well, but the woman was quite temperamental as she had gathered from their brief contacts. And a third head, a tall man whom Lorraine vaguely recognized from the conference albeit, his name was escaping her at the present time. "Hello," Lor greeted in polite notion, her heels clicking against the hardwood floor, as she made her way over towards the other side of the sofa from the tall, unnamed gentleman. Seating herself down, she smiled half-heartedly, before speaking again. "How are you all? I'm not, interrupting, am I?" Best to be sure. |
Samantha had received notice of the new Department Head lounge which had just opened, and wanted to come and see it for herself. Walking into the room she noticed that there were already four other department heads inside, all of whom she recognized from previous meetings of course. "Hello Theo, Egypt, Ben and Lorraine," she said quietly, taking a quick look around before taking a seat and beginning to review some material for the department. She wasn't that deeply involved in her work, and was fully listening and ready to jump into the conversation at any point. Had she just heard mention of the fact that Reagan was going to be running against Cooper for Minister of Magic? She smiled to herself, she had no doubt that Theo would support the Minister and would be very surprised if she were wrong. This election should be most interesting. All of which reminded her of the fact that she had been appointed Reagan's speech writer. She needed to get to work on that right away! She decided to play it cool, not give away which side she was on but only to listen. Samantha picked up so much information this way, just by listening and not being obvious about it. Smoothing a strand of long honey colored hair away from her face and straightening her skirt, she sat and waited. |
Theo shook his head, "I hope Brennan knows about this." He sighed. He was going to support Brennan through this. "This Ministry needs direction. Not a change in one. Brennan needs support, he doesn't need mutiny. I am sure he won't be happy if he finds his PA is going to backstab him." He smiled and lifted his head, "Hey Lorraine welcome to the Lounge. The sofas are most comfortable." He had his feet stretched out and everything. And not a moment later they were welcomed into another's precense. "Hello there Samantha. Not too far for you to come." |
"This is a very comfortable lounge area," Samantha agreed. "And you're absolutely right, Theo, I only have to walk down the hallway to get here. The rest of you have to come from a bit further away, but it's still well worth the trip." She laughed. "Very good place to relax, and I'm glad we have this area now. I'm sure we will all get much good use from it." |
everyone:) She turned around and smiled at him. "Oh its so good to finally meet you Mr. Cobblestsen. I have heard so many good things about you," She said to him. One of the twins kicked and it made her pull up short and take a few deep breaths. "Forgive me," She smiled at him. "Well she is running because she has an excellent chance of winning and frankly I think she is the best person for the job," She explained to Ben. She looked up and that witch from the conference walked in. She knew she was the transportation department head. "Good afternoon," She said to her. "Oh no you aren't. Please join us." She told her with a smile and a nod. "Hello Samantha dear," She said looking up as another one of the twins kicked her swiftly. She winced in pain and took a few more deep breaths. She turned back to Theo. "Of course he knows. He put Reagan up for the job as a joke to try and make himself look good." Egypt said trying not to say anything bad about the Minister. She was surprised that she could even muster that sort of feeling toward another human being. "The direction that Cooper is leading us in is on the path to destruction. We do need a change in direction and Reagan is the witch to give it to us. No one is backstabbing him. She is going to make her candidacy public knowledge." She pointed out to him. She didn't know if she liked his attitude about this. |
