Atrium / Fountain of Magical Brethren You step into the Atrium (either from a Fireplace or from the visitors entrance), and see other wizards walking through the hall past the Fountain of Magical Brethren. The floor is polished dark wood, and the ceiling is peacock blue with golden symbols floating across it slowly. The fountain itself is made up of a group of golden statues depicting a wizard, a witch, a centaur, a goblin and a house-elf, all of which pour water into the surrounding pool. The security gate can be seen at the end of the hall (OOC: Security check in is in a separate thread). |
Sophie left her office to begin her patrol of the Atrium. Sure, 99% of the Ministry was visible on the screens in her office, but Sophie drew quickly tired of what she compared to as watching muggle television. She liked being out and about anyway, keeping an eye on the visitors and staff wandering around in the atrium. She flicked her gold coloured robes out behind her as she paused to scrutinise the Fountain. Was it properly polished? It looked a bit dull to her. |
A young ninteen year old women walked towards the Atrium, clutching a few files and two books in her hands. She knew she should have grabbed a bag on her way in, but she was running late. As soon as she started to walk towards her department, she dropped all her folders and books on the floor. Fantastic. Looks like she is going to be as late as possible. Why is she having such a horrible day today? Her eyes fell on a clock which hung on the wall and she stared at it. She had another half and hour before work? The batteries must have run out or something. And she was panicing for nothing. Bending down, she started to gather her stuff and place the scattered paper back in it's folders. |

But it was not a gang of ninjas, it was a young girl who had dropped books and papers on the floor. Sophie advanced to help, more to minimize the disturbance than as an act of altruism. "What department do you work in?" she asked the girl as she picked up a folder, as a way of gathering information quickly. |

She looked at the woman who had asked her which department she was in. "The Department of Mysteries." She informed her and took her folder as she placed the folders on top of each other and grabbed her books and got up. "Thank you." She said and smiled at the woman who otherwise looked like she was on her guard, ready for any kind of attack. "Are we being invaded or anything?" She asked her when she saw the wand in her hand. |
Quote:
"You're welcome" Sophie said as she handed the girl her last pile of books. She wondered how the girl had managed to tell that she was holding her wand under her cloak, but then again if she worked in the Department of Mysteries it wouldn't be a shock if she had x-ray vision or something. "Constant Vigilance" Sophie said by way of explanation. |
Quote:
"Thanks for helping!" She said. "See you around!" She said and walked away towards her destination. |

Her eyes were drawn away by a flash of green from the incoming floo fireplaces, and she smirked as a fresh bunch of employees were arriving for work. |
Nevarna apparated into The Atrium and turned to the beautiful Fountain of Magical Brethren and sighed. "It would be worth dropping a sickle or two" she said to herself. So she dropped 2 sickles and headed inside the Ministry; she was ... 20 minutes early for work. As she passed Sophie she said "Hello" and headed off the the Elevator Lobby. |

Nope, the fountain was definately duller than usual. Sophie made a note on her notepad to see the head House elf to get it remedied, then continued her patrol of the Atrium Level. |
Shylo entered the Atrium, her dark hair tied back in a bun and her glasses propped up on her perfect nose. She tossed a galleon into the Fountain of Magical Brethren as she passed, and then continued towards the Elevator Lobby. "Morning Sophie." She said shyly, as she passed. Although extremely beautiful, Shylo's beauty was hidden beneath her shyness. |
A young woman on her twenties apparated in the middle of the Atrium, a bag hanging on her shoulder and a bunch of papers clutching on her arms. She was late. Very late. If only her brother hadn't taken so much time to reach her home and take her of her daughter. Darn it, Antonio! If I get fired I don't know what I'll do to you she thought angrily as she walked fastly towards the elevator. She just hoped the Head of her Department wouldn't rip her head off, something she would probably do once she got back home. As Arianna approached the Fountain, she nearly slipped on a few drops of water that had fallen on the floor, making her stop dead on her tracks so that she wouldn't fall. This only made a couple of her papers end up on the floor. She started to curse in italian under her breath as she bend down and started to colect them. |
Shylo was walking towards the Cafeteria when she noticed Arianna stumble and drop some of the papers which she had been clutching, just moments before. She stopped and looked around. Nobody seemed to be helping the poor girl, and so, even being extremely shy, Shylo walked up to her. "You okay, Arianna?" She asked, giving her a small smile and bending down to pick up the papers. She handed them to her. "Well...have a good day!" She nodded and then continued to walk towards the Cafeteria. |
Patrolling the atrium, Esh was on the lookout for the Head House-Elf. His HoD had given them instructions to ask the elf to give the fountain an extra-clean polishing as the German Minister was to arrive later on. He ticked off the list of jobs he had to do, mentally, patrolling the corridor. |
Professor Doyle Branxton apparated from the gates of Hogwarts to the Ministry. He had some things to take care of here before heading back to his second job and family. He also needed to try and get a meeting set up with Cooper... the Minister, Doyle mentally corrected himself. he took a moment to pause and take in the scene of the Atrium before moving toward the elevators. |
Jamie-Lee apparated into the Ministry from the assignment she had just been working on. Across the atrium Doyle Branxton was walking toward the elevators and she upped her pace. "Hello Branxton, how very nice of you to join us," Jamie-Lee didn't approve of one of her colleagues working two jobs when their devotion should be strictly with the ministry. Brennan Cooper was only a soft touch with Branxton because his sister married him. "Things up at the school alright?" she sparked conversation as she walked to the elevator with him. |
"The students are settling in and classes are about to start up. Cassandra's done a fine job of keeping the school in order. It's good to see you again, Crawford," Doyle replied after slowing his pace for the Obliviator. |
"I hope it stays in order Doyle, Hogwarts has had its fair share of problems plus more and this year I am certain the Ministry would like a break from its drama. You were put there to try and stop it by removing some book, were you not? Did you succeed?" Jamie-Lee wasn't talking business right now, she was just being sheer nosey. |
"I am not at liberty to confirm nor deny that," Doyle answered in true Unspeakable fashion as he quickened his pace slightly. |
"But... hmph," Jamie-Lee crossed her arms. How rude! Keeping secrets from her, why she oughta tamper with his memory and find out for herself. Control yourself Jamie-Lee, "Well, knowing your love for work, you havent let it slip fromy our hands without a fight." |
"Thank you for your vote of confidence in my work," he dryly replied before taking off his glasses and cleaning them. It had been almost an hour. Funny how marriage and children had unwound him down a bit. |
"So, what do we owe this pleasure anyway Doyle?" Surely he couldnt deny an answer to such an innocent question? I mean the Department of Mysteries wasnt that mysterious. She batted her eyes at him. |
"I have some things to attend to," Doyle cryptically answered. He was tiring of this game of twenty questions. "And why aren't you in your office or out obliviating someone?" |
"Yes, why aren't you Jamie-Lee Crawford? I'd like to know, too," Clara cleared her throat and turned around as they passed. "Hello, Doyle. Miss Crawford." Clara came over to stand between them, her quilly out and her smile on. |
Jamie-Lee's mouth dropped, thee Clara Belle, right in front of her. She was one of the prettiest woman alive and rumoured to be snogging the face of the Minister, "Erm.. well, erm, actually we just finished off an assignment. Some idiot thought it was funny to leave a muggle floating for so long he began to hallucinate. Silliness." Jamie-Lee felt very out of place with the Ministers brother-in-law and juicy desert for company, "I need to get back to the office. Need to report back to Marius, see you both later. Doyle, Madam Belle," she hurried, she scurried, she just got the hell out of there. |
