Iacta alea est.....the die are cast....A story of Cleopatra


In ancient egypt there lives an exceptional Queen of Kings, and the Last Great Pharoah of Egypt. Cleopatra VII of the Royal house of Ptolemy, Thea Philopator, Neos Dyonysus. Greatly misunderstood and slandered by her enemies, Cleopatra lived a powerful and influential life rulling Egypt through its richest years, bringing back Egyptian customs and ways of life even know she herself was Greek (Macedonian) and she was the last Hellinistic heir of the throne of Egypt. (When Octavian took over, Egypt becamse a Roman province.)

Addelaide, a history lover and Cleopatra fan stumbles upon an ancient Egyptian asp armband that transports her back in time to Ancient Egypt. She is a 7th year Gryffindor student who finds herself in the Room of Requirement one day and stumbles upon the armband. Before she knows what is happening she is transported back in time by an ancient magic far greater than anything that keeps you in or out of Hogwarts. She finds herself in Cleopatra's palace in Alexandrea, she is welcomed as a foreign princess and she plays along in fear of her life. Cleopatra is curious as to Addelaide's strange dress and appearance but shakes it off as her being a foreigner from a far away land. Addelaide must someone live in Egypt with a young 18 year old Queen who is idolizes and knows the tragic truth about. How will she be able to keep her mouth shut and just watch Cleopatra head down the path towards her own death and deat hof those she loves, but Addelaide also knows that she cannot change history or what has already come to be. She also has her wand and must be careful that no one knows she has magic or sees her with the wand.

I would like to start this RPG off with Addelaide in the castle and meeting the young Queen of Egypt. If someone would like, we could have another Hogwarts student be transported back in time with her. Cleopatra is very young at this time and her father has just died. I'm going to skip over the part where she is kicked out of her own castle by her brother and his men who want Ptolemy to be the ruler. The rest of the characters I would like to be people in Cleopatra's court.

This is an RPG with completely made up characters so I would like you all to post bios if you are interesting in playing someone. Please include where you would like to be from, ie: Alexandrea, Upper or Lower Egypt, Greece, Rome or somewhere else. Also please include whether you wil be studying to be a philosopher at the exquisit library in Alexandria, studying medicine, astrology etc. They will all be school mates and close friends, some can welcome Addelaide, some can not like her. Also, we will eventually be bringing Ceasar into this story if we get that far, Cleopatra married Ceasar when she was 22.

And HermioneGyrl we will see how far we get but thats deffinately a good idea when we get to Marc Antony, he barely spent any time in Alexanria until after the death of Ceasar. If we get to Cleo's trip to Rome we can have her fall in love with Antony there.

Gender:Male
Description: Barric was a ravenclaw who always came top of class but still cared about freinds. He became freinds with Addelaide in his last year. As part of his auror training he returns to school in disquise and tells Adddelaide who he is and the story continues from there I guess.
Appearence: He has black hair that needs cutting. He origenates from Dubai. Is 5 feet tall and is well trained in magic.
Personality: Tries to be brave but sometimes takes the easy way out. Clever.

Description: Octavia is a very bright astrology student. She has a natural way of interpreting the meaning of the stars, is witty and a good conversationalist. She finds herself in Alexandria in pursuit of higher learner in the field of astrology. Octavia sees a dark forecast in the horizon for Cleopatra but knows she cannot say anything about it. She would no doubt welcome a visitor from the future, especially a magical one, and may be able to prove of assistance to Addelaide in her journey back through time.
