"Don't be sorry," Keaton replied automatically. "Until I meet my uh, newly assigned fiance, I'm more worried about Hermione." Now that they were outside the office, his disappointment of not being matched with her started to set in, threatening to overwhelm him. There was one hope - maybe if they were to hook up outside this whole thing, they would let them be together, instead of with their assigned partner, since they would be the right blood matches. Keaton didn't want to voice this idea, however, because it would practically spell out how he felt, and he didn't want to do that here and now. After all, he had no idea how she felt.

Keaton never thought he'd live to see the day he was jealous of Draco Malfoy, but he did.

Draco Malfoy woke up late, as usual. He got dressed quickly; he was supposed to meet Sara and Amanda two hours ago.
When he was dresssing his shirt an owl came to his window.
He grabbed the letter and read it. When he finished, he wasn´t happy. He threw the letter to the bin and ran to the Ministry. He was late.

On his way to the Ministry, he was thinking:
Marrying to a mugglborn witch?! Me?! Who did this law?! It's their worst idea ever!
He tried to remeber the name of the man with whom he had to me. Something like...Kingsley! that was it, Kingsley.

"I want to speak with Mr. Kingsley. I'm Draco Malfoy." he said to a man that looked like a secretary. He recognized one of the persons with the man: Hermione Granger. He ignored her; looking away he saw the name of the man behind the desk. Kingsley.
"Nice to meet you, Mr. Kingsley. What do you want from me?" he ignored all the others.

"Ah, yes, better late than never." Kingsley Shacklebolt said a wicked smirk on his lips. "Well, no need for stalling." He held out the same blue bowl in front of Draco, not actually explaining what is was.

"Speak of the devil." Hermione mumbled when Malfoy passed. She waited outside of the door still, hoping that there would at least be a little yelling match. She hoped dearly that he would at least be able to change the unfortunate circumstance.

Attention, especially clockcollector: Through PM, Ms.Malfoy has givin me a bio for a made up man to be paired up with Sara Ellis. I edited one of my first posts and put her bio in there too.

Draco looked to Kingsley waiting for an explanation:
"I have to put my hand inside this thing?" he did it. The bolw was incredebly deep. When placed his arm inside it, images started to come to his mind. There were images of his past, some good, others, not that good.

Finnally! he thought when the memories stopped. He took his arm from the bowl an noticed he was holding a paper.

"Hermione Weasley. Okay... what was this for? Is this some kind of JOKE?! I ´DON´T THINK IS FUNNY, MR. KINGLEYS!" Draco yelled.

Can this day go any worst?! he thought, angry.

ic: Ron sat by himself at a table. He was thinking about his wife and also about how Hermione was going to be matched up with Malfoy. He had no idea how that was going to work out.

"Mr. Kingsley... In your letter you specified the law, but you didn't give any indication about this." He showed the paper: "What does this means?" asked with all the calm he could get.

Sarah ran a hand through her hair as she walked into the ministry building. She clutched the crumbled letter in her hand, silently fuming. She gave Draco a brief glance, fingering her necklace. “Who am I supposed to talk to about this?” She demanded of the man standing near Draco, who was holding a bowl of water. Just then she noticed how mad Draco looked, and figured he was a victim of the same thing as her.

Draco stormed in, clearly not approving of this new law, either. "Good," Keaton thought, "Maybe he'll make a big scene and his big shot father will do something about it." Another girl also came in, apparently for the same reason. "I wonder if that's -- what's her name? -- Carly?" he wondered curiously. Instead of leaving, Keaton decided to wait outside with this friends to see how this would play out with Draco and the mystery girl.

Harry was sitting outside the Burrow next to Ron, munching on one of Mrs. Weasley's excellent home made tarts. "I wonder how this will play out?" he thought to himself idly.

OOC: Hermia123, Ron doesn't know who Hermione got matched up with yet; Hermione and McKenzie are still at the Ministry.

Hermione's eyes darted back from Keaton, to the door of the Minister's office, to McKenzie back again. She remained very quiet, hoping to hear something. It was only really mumbles.

Then a new girl, around their age appeared. She must be another 'victum'. The first thing in her mind was Carly? Hermione looked back to Keaton, she could tell he was thinking the same thing.

Sara just blinked. “Uh, yea. Rather unfortunately.” Her tones were dark. This was totally and utterly mind blowing. She eyed the bowl as if it might attack her. At first poking the surface of the water, she blinked as it didn’t look any different than a normal bowl of water. Finally sighing, she put her hand in the water, annoyed at the fact her sleeve got wet. Random thoughts flashed before her eyes before she shook it off and found her arm wasn’t in the bowl and she was holding a piece of paper. “Who the heck is Adam Lewis?” And she was very tempted to say something a lot more vulgar.

"Couldn´t you marry me with her? Everything would be better, everyone unless Granger!" he left the office and the first he saw was Hermione. She had paper with name on her hand.
"You... You knew before I get in there..." he screamed. H epushed her to a side, before leaving the Ministry in a furious mood.
They'll see! he went to his parents house. They would fix it. And if he had to marry, for Merlin, it wouldn´t be with Hermione Granger!

Carly was now desparate to find someone who could help her out.She was still furious.She knew she had to marry someone,but who,that remained unknown.She looked around for her."This is rediculas."she said,getting angry.Then she saw a couple of people,who looked rather angry,confused and a little lost."Im Carly Winters..Im here about the whole marriage law thing..could you please inform me on who in merlins name Im ment to be marrying?"she said,placing her hands on her thin waist.

She was rather glad she was dressed presentable,and she looked nice in her fitted jeans and waist coat.Her hair in a lose ponytail,hanging down her back.If she was to meet her soon-to-be-husband,she had to look nice and presentable.

Adam woke up again. He got dressed and heard a tapping at his window. walking up to it he saw it was a ministry owl,

Under the new marrage law, you have met all the requirments. You are over the age of eighteen, single, and of muggleborn or pureblood desent. (If any of this information is incorrect, please contact the ministry right away.) You will be required by law to report to the Ministry no later than Tuesday, at 3:47PM. There you will be assigned your spouse. If you are unable to do so, there will be concinquences.

Rage boiled up inside him when Malfoy pushed Hermione, and it took all his effort not to go and push him back harder. Taking a step toward her, he asked, "Are you okay?" Then another victim entered.

Carly Winters. This was her, standing in front of him. Keaton's first emotion was relief, glad that she wasn't some woman Malfoy. Or at least she didn't look like it. Keaton took a closer look at her, while trying not to know that he was sort of studying her. Carly was pretty and well-dressed. Another guy walked up, too, and so he briefed them. "I'm Keaton," he said, attaching a smile to his face. "Just go into the Minister's office here and you'll stick your hand in this bowl. When you take your hand out there will be a piece of parchment with the name of your match." Keaton decided not to come right out and say "Yep, I'm Keaton McKey, and you'll be marrying me." He didn't want to scare her away, and didn't want to say anything in case, maybe, she got a different name out of the dreaded bowl.

Thankful that someone knew what they were talking about,Carly walked over to the man."Finally.."she said with a smiled of relief."Someone who knows what there talking about.."she said,and then glanced at the two people who were obviously arguing.."Nice to meet you Keaton.."she said,with a sweet smile.She did as instructed and picked out a piece of Parchment and then looked at it.Keaton McKey was what it read.She looked at the man and then down at the parchment."Wow.."she said,feeling a bit shocked,and well she didnt know what else she felt.

She was going to be marrying the man infront of her,just like that.No questions about it.She crumpled up the piece of parchment in her hand,not wanting to show any sort of negative emotion.She looked at the man who was to somehow be her husband.

"I dont know what to say.."she said,completely speechless.

"Well, it looks like Carly got my name, too," Keaton thought. That was it, things felt oddly finalized. He would be marrying Carly Winters - whom he just met mere minutes ago - unlsess they or Malfoy could do something about it. Putting his fate in Malfoy's hands wasn't anything Keaton was too pleased about. He glanced at Hermione and McKenzie out of the corner of his eyes, seeing their reaction and if they would come with back up. "Uh.. neithe do I," said Keaton, equally lost for words. He was a little shy by nautre, and not exactly completely comfortable right now. He racked his mind for something to fill the awkward silence, "Well, I guess we should, er, get to know each other. That is, unless you'd like some alone time first..." Keaton didn't know anything about Carly other than her name, so he didn't want to be too forceful.

She was still shocked,and who were these other people,was one of the other questions that popped into her head.She looked at Keaton,who had appeared to be talking to her.She shook her head out of her daze,she didnt want to be rude."Pardon..? Oh erh.. No I guess your right..were getting married.."Gosh it felt weird saying that..she thought."So we should get to know eachother.."she nodded.And put on a smile.It must have been just as hard for him,so she didnt want to make him feel uncomfortable,not at all.In a weird way,they were in this together.

Keaton laughed stiffly at the "we're getting married" part. It would take some getting used to to hear that out loud. He felt the presence of his friends behind him, and realized that Carly had no idea who these people were. "Oh yeah," he said, motioning to McKenzie and Hermione, "These are my friends. This is McKenzie: she's my friend Ron's girlfriend, so she just came along for the ride. And Hermione is also part of the little marriage scheme; she just got matched up with Malfoy." Keaton tried hard not to spat the name, not knowing if he was a friend of Carly's, and not wanting to offend her five minutes after he met her. "I guess we could go back to the Burrow or something?" he he half stated, half asked. "That's what we call Ron's house."

Carly smiled at his laugh.He was obviously not used to hearing the term used to lightly either.But it was true.She looked at his friends and smiled,feeling slightly better he had introduced them to her.She nodded."Nice to meet you McKenzie,Hermione and Malfoy."she said,she recognized Draco,but where from.Probably a parents Party or something.She looked back at Keaton and shrugged."Ok..sounds good.."she said,thankful he was being so nice about this whole situation.She sighed in relief,she was happy she hadnt been paired with someone like Malfoy,who looked like a bit of a meany.She looked at the two women and nodded curty and smiled."Nice to meet you.."she said.
