Hermione looked at Harry. "I know, but..." She really didn't know what to say at all. "We are going to the Ministry, it's nearly 3:10! But don't worry abput us, we'll straighten it out." She than mumbled in an unaudioble tone, "I sure hope so."

"We will get it taken care of Hermione. I still cant believe this!" McKenzie said to Hermione. Then she looked at Harry, "Harry I am going to tell you the samething I told Ron, I will let you know what happens. I promise." She said.

"Okay. Holler if you need me to do anything, and I'll be there. "Harry said to Hermione and McKenzie, "Oh, and give the Minister or his little minions a bit of trouble for me, will you?" There was a small twinkle in his eyes at the thought of the Minister receiving a bit of well deserved hard time. The twinkle soon died away, though, as he mumbled, still barely audibly, "Man, I wonder what Keaton will think of this."

Hermione got up from her chair, greatful that McKenzie was going to join her. She closed her eyes and said, "I'll meet you there." And she apperated into the Ministry of Magic. Hermione, still rageous, stormed right past the golden fountain to the Minister's office itself. She knocked angerly on the door, in a huff.

ooc: Alohomora, you mentioned that you'd have Keaton be Carly's future husband thingy. If you're still interested, that would be great.

OOC: Okay. I'll just RP as if Keaton is just getting his letter.

Out of nowhere an owl flew in through the open window and landed on Keaton's chest. "What the...?!" he exclaimed, sitting up. The owl was unfamiliar, as he didn't think it belonged to any of his friends, but he reconized the letter on its leg to be from the Ministry of Magic because his dad worked there. He opened up the letter, read it, and just stared at it blankly. What in the world?? He couldn't believe it; he didn't want to believe it. He was confused and just couldn't comprehend the Ministry could do such a thing. Still not understanding, he sighed, "Oh well, better not be late." and Apparated to the Ministry, letter still in hand.

When he arrived he saw McKenzie and Hermione standing by the Minister's office. Keaton ran over to meed them and asked, "Hermione! McKenzie! What are you doing here?"

Hermione turned around to see Keaton coming over to them. "We were just about to..." The door if front of the three opened and there was the Minister of Magic.

He gestured his arms, welcoming them inside of the office.

Keaton had been thinking this letter over in his head, letting it all sink in. And the more it sunk in, the madder he became, though he didn't show it on the outside, but instead kept his composure. It was absolutely ridiculous that the Ministry was going to assign him a wife! He couldn't even choose; they were choosing for him! Then a possibility occured to him, a little glimmer of light in the rain: Apparently Hermione got the letter, too, so maybe they'd match him up with her...

He was just about to answer that yes, he did get a letter, and to see if Hermione got one, when the door infront of them opened, with the Minister himself standing inside. Their conversation would have to wait for now. He glanced at Hermione an McKenzie and then stepped into the Minsiter's office, making the first move, but once inside Keaton found that he didn't know what to say, so he waited for someone else to start the talking.

Hermione rushed into the room, not bothering trying to hide her anger. "This-" She tossed the letter that was still in her hand onto the grand desk. "-is absolute rubbish!"

Kingsley Shacklebolt laughed at Hermione. "It really isn't that bad. For all you know, the ministry might be matching you up with the spouse of your dreams."

"Or nightmares." Hermione pointed out under her breath.

Kingsley ignored Hermione and continued with what he was saying. "This new marrage contract will help stop segregation between the two bloodlines. Ever since the war ended, pure bloods and muggleborns are just not getting along anymore."

"Excuse me sir, but there has always been confliction between the two groups. But even so, we all aren't apart of the disagreements. I personally am very close friends with muggle borns, pure bloods, half bloods and muggles."

"Miss Granger, I understand that this may not apply to you or some others, but we can not eliminate or give special treatment towards any particular person." Kingsley lifted up his arms. "I'm sorry, but nothing you say can or will change my mind.

Hermione's mouth hung open. "But-"

"No, this is the end of our discussion." Kingsley pulled out his wand and muttered an incantation. A simple looking bowl appeared. This bowl is of a deep navy and appears to be quite shallow. "Place your hand inside. The bowl will read you. It will know your strengths, weaknesses, fears, goals, even your favourite breakfast food. It will pair you up with someone who will be perfect for yourself, being perfectly compatable." Kingsley held the bowl in front of Hermione.

Hermione huffed and placed her hand in the bowl. It surprised her how deep it was, her whole entire arm fit inside. All of a sudden her eyes grew heavy and appeared to fall asleep while still standing. But in reality, Hermione has never been more awake. The images flooded her closed eyelids - the time she first learned how to ride a bike, when she got her hogwarts letter, when she was eating toast and hot chocolate on a morning in January. They were all just random memories. But it wasn't just the images, the smells and sounds were just as effective.

Then all of a sudden she snapped out of it, both her arms at her sides. But there was something in her hand, a small piece of parchment. Hermione looked at the yellowed paper. It was blank. "Huh?" Hermione said, unintelligently.

Kingsley rolled his eyes, "Well, you have to shake it first."

"Oh, of course." Hermione replied sarcastically. She shook the tiny piece of paper, doubtfully. But sure enough, a name started to appear on the parchment.

Kingsley adverted his attention to Keaton, holding the blue bowl in front of him.

"It's great that you're so open minded and considerate of other people," Keaton muttered sarcastically as Kingsley was giving his well rehearsed speech, most likely typed up by his own personal secretary. "Why don't you just have us marry dragons; maybe that would stop some of the segregation and hard feelings people have towards them!"

'Perfectly compatable.' Maybe they could match him up with someone perfect.... That thought only lasted for a second; Keaton could be foolishly optimistic sometimes. He watched attentively but nervously as Hermione plunged her whole arm into the seemingly shallow navy bowl. When she took her hand out he eyed the piece of parchment questioningly, but she didn't read the name. The Minister was now holding the bowl out to him. It was his turn.

All of a sudden Keaton felt very nervous, as if this was a test he didn't study for. In a way this was a test; it would determine who he would marry. He looked at his friends, like maybe they could give him the answer. But they couldn't. He stuck his left hand in the bowl, which pulled his whole arm in. He was very much awake and nervous, but he felt his eyes close like Hermione's did. Images flashed quickly through his mind, playing out on his eyelids. He was playing on a see saw at recess with Hermione and some of his other muggle friends at his old muggle school. An owl flew through a window, bearing his Hogwarts letter. Diagon Alley. He was on the Hogwarts express. He was nervously placing the Sorting Hat on his head. He was at the Burrow. The smell of the omelette he had for breakfast last Wednesday. Other things, like his fears, goals, dreams, thoughts were spinning through his mind as well.

And then it all stopped. His hand was no longer in the bowl, and a small piece of parchemt was in it instead. He looked at it, took another deep breath, and shook it gently. An unfimiliar name started to appear on it.

McKenzie could not believe what she was hearing. This was crazy. She sat to the side and watched Hermione and Keaton put their hands in the bowls. When they were done a piece of partchment flew out. "What do they say?" Mac asked them.

"Draco Malfoy?"

Hermione looked back at Kingsley. "I think your bowl is broken." She just glared when Kingsley laughed in return. "I will not marry Malfoy. The very though sickens me." She was starting to feel dizzy. "We have nothing in common, but perhaps our shared hate... for each other."

Hermione was distraught, repeatively running her hand through her hair. She walked over to Keaton, "Who'd you get?"

"Draco Malfoy!?! Are you serious?" Mac asked Hermione. Then she turned to the Minister. "Excuse me Minister, but do you not remember the hatered?" McKenzie asked him. 'Harry and Ron are so not going to like this.' Mac thought to herself.

Keaton's eyes just about popped out of their sockets. "Draco Malfoy!?" he repeated, shocked. Malfoy and Hermione were not compatible. Never have been, never will be. They hated each other! There was no way that she could marry him... Thoughts raced through Keaton's mind a mile a minute.

He was so caught up with thoughts about Hermione and Malfoy that Keaton completely forgot that he, too, just got assigned to marry someone until Hermione walked up to him and asked who he got. Keaton glanced down at his hand, where the scrap of parchment still remained, now crushed up. "Oh," Keaton said, opening it. "Carly. Carly Winters," he read. The name didn't seem familiar. "Who's she?" he asked, looking up at Hermione, McKenzie, and Kingsley.

Amanda started to walk back and foward in the Leaky Cauldron. When is he dare to come? she asked herself once more.
She turned to Sara:
"Are you sure he said he was coming?"

Draco Malfoy... you are so dead when you arrive here, Amanda thought angry.

"Carly Winters?" Hermione questioned, "It sounds familiar, maybe we went to school with her?" Hermione looked back down to her own piece of parchment.

It still said Draco Malfoy.

She was about to give the Minister another talking to, when he ushered them out.

"But..."

"No." Kinglsey said sternly. "The descion is final. If I were you, I'd go get in contact with your new fiancee." His tone was slightly mocking.

Hermione looked at McKenzie, "I know, but what am I to do?" Then her face twisted into a smirk, " Well, Malfoy won't like this either. He will probably just buy his way out of it. Right?" She asked hopefully.

"So," he started in one of the lowest tones he ever used, turning to the Minister, "You expect to marry someone I've never even met. This is the worst idea you or the Ministry has ever had. And that's saying quite a lot, concidering all of the wonderful little "improvements" the Ministry has set into place." After a pause, to allow that to sink in, he continued, "I wish you had to do this, too. You know, marry someone you didn't even know or hate with a fiery, burning passion. Experience the joy of your wonderful new system."

And with that, Keaton turned on his heel and exited the office, waiting for the others to follow. "C'mon," he muttered, not wanting to have to be in Kingsley's presence any longer. When they were all outside the office, he turned to them and sighed. "Well, this has been one interesting Tuesday, huh?"
