STARTING NOW:

"Pass the biscuits, would you, Ron?" Hermione asked, not wanting to lean over the tightly squeezed table. She looked down and smiled at everyone, she just loved being surrounded by everyone. When all of a sudden a black Ministry owl flew into the window, dropped a letter on Hermione's lap and flew off, not even waiting for a treat.

Confused, Hermione picked up the letter and opened it.

Dear Miss Granger,

Under the new marrage law, you have met all the requirments. You are over the age of eighteen, single, and of muggleborn or pureblood desent. (If any of this information is incorrect, please contact the ministry right away.) You will be required by law to report to the Ministry no later than Tuesday, at 3:47PM. There you will be assigned your spouse. If you are unable to do so, there will be concinquences.

Hermione's mouth flew open. "Are you kidding me?"

Could I, before we start, please join in? As Charlie Weasley and a made-up? And... d'you need any more male made-ups?

McKenzie looked at Hermione. "Whats wrong Hermione? What did the letter say?" McKenzie saw a look of fear go acrossed Hermione's eyes.

Amanda was at the Leaky Cauldron waiting for Draco Malfoy. Like him, she had been a slytherin, and that's how they met.
She looked anxious to the door. Amanda hoped he didn´t take too long.
"Where is he?" she turned to her friend, Sarah Ellis.
Amanda secretly prayed she could handle. She had a crush for Draco since... always. That blond hair, his beautiful eyes... she tought dreaming

OCC: It's okay if Amanda and Sarah are friends? They are both Draco's friends. They could be together waiting for him, but if you preffer I'll edit the post.

Carly was sat at home,after a long and hard day of working,she had started her new job,and she was loving it.When she jumped out of her skin,she looked around to see her OWL Mac,stood at the window,tapping impatiently,with a letter hanging from his beek.She got up,and wondered over to the window,then opening the window and taking the letter from the bird."Thanks Mac..",she smiled at her bird.She laughed when the bird squarked back at her and turned over the letter,only to notice the MOM stamp on the back.She couldnt help but frown."What do they want..?"she asked.Opening it,she gasped."No way..!"she said,loudly.

Hermione's fear was turning into fury. She tossed the letter over to McKenzie. "You have met all the requirments!" Hermione growled. "And thank you for being supportive!" Hermione was fumed, she was about to get married, and she didn't even know her husband to be! "They think... arg... I can't belive.... so stupid... I helped save the whole wizardry world... this is our thanks... my goodness... no intelligence at all... arg!" Hermione muttered, not making much sence.

Carly stood up,she was so confused,angry,a total mix of feelings and she didnt know what to fo..she was very tempted to go down to the Ministry and complain or something,but she knew she couldnt,they would take action or something against her.She stormed around her living room.

McKenzie read the note. "What is this all about? When did this all happen?" Makenzie kept repeating the questions. "They cant do that can they? That is not fair to you and anyone for that matter." She said to Hermione.

"Why now? That is what I dont get. Why not let people find their own husband?" McKenzie said.

"Because they are mean insignificant, horrible people who enjoy other people's pain?" Hermione offered the option, running her hand thorugh her hair swiftly. "No, no I'm being rude. The Ministry thinks this is a good idea, so maybe it is." She looked back to the letter. No later than Tuesday. Today was Tuesday. "Oi, crap!" She looked down at her watch, it was 3:00. "I got to go, I'd hate to be late, even if they do deserve it." Hermione got up from the table. "Um, McKenzie? Would you come with me?"

Carly also looked at her letter,she was still in total shock! She was surpose to marry someone she had never met..that was just barbaric! Totally and utterly stupid! Your ment to marry for love..not for status! She looked at her Owl again."I best go.."she said,sighing deeply."Its today,they want us to meet our husbands to be.."she said,a little annoyed.She got up and grabbed her jacket.She looked at the Owl,"Ill try and be civil.."she said to him."But Im not promising anything.."she said,nodding and Apparating to the Ministry.

ic: "We are assigned spouses?" Ron asked. "Forgive me but WHAT?!" He was furious as he believed he deserved to choose his own.

"Of Course I will go with you Hermione. I would not let you go through that alone." McKenzie said as she got up from the table. "Ron I will let you know what happens." She said as she walked over and gave Ron a hug.

Harry exited the Burrow into the backyard, where everyone else was, carrying a platter of drinks for everyone. Hermione seemed angry at something, but he couldn't imagine what. "What's up?" he asked her, curioulsly but tentatively. As an answer Hermione thrusted an official looking letter into his hands. Rolling his eyes as he took the letter, Harry said, exasperated, "Oh boy, what is the Ministry up to this time?" Luckily he had already sat down his tray, because he would've dropped it after reading the letter. "What!?" he cried, "They can't do that! They just can't..." He was shocked, and couldn't think of anything else to say, but when he saw Hermione and McKenzie get up, as to leave, he asked, "Where are you guys going?"

Keaton was laying on his made bed, fully dressed, staring at the ceiling. He just got back from a trip with some of his Muggle friends, and was tired. His thoughts wandered to his other friends, the witch and wizard ones. He wondered where they were, and decided it was probably the Burrow, where they spent most of their time. He knew he was welcome to go over there, but decided not to because of lack of energy; he was content where he was, his thoughts being his company. A particular friend was creeping into his head. Keaton found that this witch was spending more and more time in his thoughts lately.
