Liz shrugged. "Either way. I am grateful. So once again thanks." She gave Chase a friendly smile and then got up. Still not knowing whose house this was she started to look around at the photos. A boy who appeared in many of them looked somewhat familiar- but she still couldn't put her finger on it.

Chase looked at Liz as she walked around. He hadnt told anyone yet that this was his house. It didnt seem that important. He watched as she touched different frames and a smile couldnt help but appear on his face but he tried to conceal it looking away from her and to the wand in his hand. Many questions unanswered in his head.

It started to really bother Liz on the inside. Why did the boy look so familiar to her- yet she couldn't say who it was. She picked up another frame and looked at a family portrait. In her head rang They're probably all dead. With that thought she put the frame back down. She looked at the interesting things in the living room. Her eyes looked up for a second and noticed Chase watching her slightly. Automatically her eyes scattered back down to the nearest picture frame as she tried to hide a blush.

She noticed... he thought to himself swirling around trying to hide the fact that he was actually looking getting up he went into the bathroom and shut the door. He looked into the mirror for the first time. He reflection was gruesome. He had bags under his eyes and his skin had blotches all over it. Where was his usual self?

Liz blushed even more as Chase walked off into a washroom. Fortuantly it was dark in the room and the other two wouldn't be able to see the blush. She put down the frame she had in her hand and started to walk up a fleet of stairs. Exploring time.

Her eyes were now quite use to the dark and she could walk about the house without tripping on her own feet. She walked into the first room on her right- a bedroom.

Chase turned on the water from the sink and scooped it into his hands rubbing it onto his face. He looked back at the mirror dripping wet. He grabbed a towel off the wall and patted his face dry.

After a few minutes he opened the door looking around. Where was liz? Or Sam? Or ... Jason?

Liz walked around the bedroom curiously. She wondered if she should go through the closet or not- after all this was still someone room. Be they dead or not. As she took a step a floorboard underneath her foot creak- echoing through the quiet house.

Hearing a creek upstairs CHase looked above him. His eyes narrowed. Someone was upstairs. He grabbed his wand from his pants pockets and started up the stairs.. very queietly. He didnt know where everyone was. Maybe they were being held captive.... or maybe his mind was getting the best of him.

Liz couldn't help but wonder who would have taken this bedroom. Most likely not one of the parents. It just did not have that adult feel too it. The bed looked comfy- but Liz couldn't even think the thought of sleep comforting. When asleep, you were vulnerable. She looked behind her for a second as she though she heard someone. She shrugged it away assuming it was one of the other three.

It was dark, Chase couldnt see a thing. He tripped up the stairs and stopped. Hopefully the intruder hadnt heard anything. He stayed quiet for a moment when he didnt hear a sound. He continued up the stairs and finally came to the second test. His room was just a head. He thought he had heard a noice in there. Slowly walking he inched closer pointing his wand.

Liz hummed quietly to herself as she looked around the room. She opened up the closet. How she wish she had clothes nice like this. No all she wore was over sized t-shirts and ripped jeans. This was a boy who went to Hogwarts- thats all she got from this room. The only way she knew he went to Hogwarts was the fact a pair of robes were hanging up in his closet.

He heard a creek as the door opened and walked slowly into the room peering over the side as he did. He saw a shadow. "Whos there?" he asked loudly and fiercely.

Liz jumped and gave a bit a shriek as a voice entered the room. Reflexes took in and she spun around with her wand in hand. "Oh gosh Chase." Liz caught her breath and put her wand down to her side. "You gave me something of a fright."

Chase squinched his eyes and heard the familar voice. "Sorry I didnt know where everyone went.. I guess my minds being paranoid cause I was thinking someone had gotten a hold of you.. and the others." he said quickly adding the others. he put his wand dow and ran a hand through his hair and sat on the bed sideways laying down on it. His feet dangled off the side as he sat there things racing through his head. All he wanted to do was sleep but he couldn.t...

thinking someone had gotten a hold of you.. and the others. That made Liz smile. He wasn't thinking about the others- he just added it in. But she wouldn't let him see her joy. It was foolish joy. She sat down on the bed next to him. "I think we're all a little paranoid. It's okay."

Chase breathed deeply. He sighed and rubbed his eyes. He looked over at Liz. "Why did I save you?" he asked trying to find out the answer. He wanted to know and he knew she didnt know but he had to ask anyways.

"Oh... uh..." Joe didn't expect that to come out of Chase's mouth. The looked down at the floor. Rather taken back by the question she wandered her mind for an answer. An answer she couldn't find. Her stomach felt sick. In her mind if she stayed at Godric's Hallow all of their families would be safe. Not so many people would have died. She felt as though she was all her fault. "I'm sorry..."

Chase looked up at Liz. "Sorry for what?" he asked looking confused. Then it dawned on him. He sat up and looked at her. "Its not your fault." he exclaimed. "It was Cyril. If only I knew why she(?) wanted you. Ill...kill him if she touches you." he said shaking his head. Then bite his tongue. WHy had he said that last part?

"No, it's all my fault. If I didn't sneak out of the orphange, if I just stayed at the stupid village. Now It's my fault- and I don't even know why. And because of it I put you, and Sam, and that other kid in danger and I just-" Liz was starting to rant and stopped when Chase talked. Ill...kill him if she touches you. She looked up at Chase and wondered if he truely did mean that. Why he would say something like that. "Why..."

Chase listened as she talked shaking his head the whole time. "Cyril would have gone after you at the orphange any way." She had asked him. "Why what?" he asked trying to act like he didnt know.. maybe it would work..

"Why... why would you say something like that." She turned her eyes away from hims and pointed them back down to the floor. Bringing her feet up onto the bed she thought of all the time someone said something so meaningful- but meant it just as a joke. It formed her into someone who couldn't take anyone seriously around herself. And of all people? Why would someone she just met say something like that.

Chase gave a shrug. "I ...." he looked down at his feet. "Im not sure why. I guess.." he said giving her a look. "I feel connected to you somehow. I guess t was saving your life." he said giving a small chuckle.

Liz put her back against the wall and closed her eyes. She believe him. For the first time in ages she believed something somebody was saying to her. Why she did, she didn't know. Perhaps it was cause she somehow felt connected. "So... you actually meant it?"

"What that Ill kill her?" he asked turning toward her. "Yeah." he said giving her a shrug of the shoulder. "After all I did save you and having her take you from me.. o no no. Especially since I lost everything else." he said looking around the room. At least he had his house.

Liz looked at her feet- smiling. She really did believe him. There were many things she was grateful for right now. For Chase, for the fact that the room was dark and she didn't wear makeup. She wiped her eye with the palm of her hand and took in a deep breath.
