Gaer shook his head sollemnly and said, "I'd have that that you, of all people, Emma, would have noticed my being a little... off lately." He shook his head again, as if shaking his head would make his mother change her mind which, he found out over the course of the summer, it mostly definitely would not. "But, you know my mother," he said by way of explanation. "And my ever-silent father," he added disdainfully. "As long as I have a say, I'm staying on the team, but she's threatening to write to the Headmaster to tell him not to let me play anymore. D'you think he'd make me quit if she did?" he asked, obviously worried.

Gaer was so wrapped up in his own woes, that he was slightly shocked when Emma placed a hand on his shoulder. He nodded slowly, looking at her hand for a moment before glancing up at her face. He was glad that she, at least, understood. He smiled sadly and said, "And I'm a shoe-in for Captain."

His eyes grew wide when she said she wouldn't be playing and he grabbed the hand that was on his shoulder, holding in a pleading gesture and said, "What d'you mean?" His voice was soft, because he'd be lying if he said it was unexpected. "I thought you liked being on the team with us." He paused for a moment of thought and said, "I say... I say we do go to the Pitch tonight. In case it's the last time we can," he added firmly.

"Harry will you shut your stomach up." Keira giggled. "This part is the best. The sorting hats song. Fantastic." She smield at him.

Harry chuckled and glanced back at Keira sheepishly. "Sorry," he said jokingly. Then, "Wait... song? The Sorting Hat sings?" He was very interested by this and watched at the Hat started singing from a tear near the brim. He clapped when it was finished and said, "That's was spectacular. We didn't have different Houses at Algarath's," he added, referring to his old, private school.

"Well thats because they are dull and boring and we are like fantabulous." Harry really had settled into Hogwarts fast. Keira grinned at him. "Well im the most fantastic of the bunch arnt I?" She giggled.

Emma didn't even understood how he had to quit Quidditch, she had always pictured him as a famous Quidditch player after they graduated, well, he can still be one, but his parents should've realized that too. She was still looking to his eyes as he mentioned 'Captain', "I know, you could've led the team to their greatest victory so far" she nodded, smiling vaguely.

"Oh, no" she thought, she felt how her cheeks turned a bit pink, or at least she hoped it was pink, as he suddenly held her hand, why she turned pink was something she didn't even know, "I do" she said, looking away but still not letting go of his hold, "I love being with you guys, you know how much I like Quidditch, but.." Emma's face turned back to him, "..with the OWLs and all, I didn't want many distractions" she continued, a silent sigh came from her as she realized that she didn't have as many obligations as Gaer, and she let go off Quidditch so easily.

"Yes, please, let's go tonight" almost in a whisper, "I'm honestly wanting to get on my broom again, Nate" she said, she left it at Hogwarts over the summer, she knew her parents didn't like her flying over their house, much less at the sight of any muggle.


Jared was completely bored at the table, there was no sight of Ian, and some of his other Slytherin's friends were at the beginning at the table, everyone seemed to be having fun, though, as he watched at his other friends laughing and talking to each other, there were still some missing but the feast will probably start soon.

Harry watched the first years all go up and try on the hat, just as he had done privately in the Headmaster's office only last week. He looked over at Keira and nodded. "Absolutely terrific," he agreed.

Gaer smiled at Emma's compliment and he said, "Thanks, Em. I think I really would enjoy being Captain. Hopefully, there's still a chance that my mum will come 'round."

He nodded at her reason for leaving the team and said, "It's all right. It is, I swear. If I thought I had half a chance at getting more than a couple of OWLs, I'd drop, too. This is just sort of... all I've got, you know?"

He cleared his throat suddenly when he realized he was still holding her hand and let go quickly, hoping that the warmth in his ears wasn't turning them as red as he imagined. His whole expression changed, however, when she accepted his invite to the Pitch. He grinned and said, "I honestly think that's the only thing for us to do."

"I know I am." She giggled. "Maybe Dumbledore will speak soonish. He normally does." She smiled at him.

Harry couldn't help but grin at the girl. She was in such a good mood. Come to it, so was he. He was finally in a place where people had personalities. "Hopefully," Harry agreed. "I'm starving."

She smiled, and even if she didn't want to acknowlege it, that's all he got, "Just remember Nate, that if you need any help to study for the OWLs, there's someone that's going to be doing that all this year" she laughed and pointed at herself with her free hand, making a clear joke was a good way of making him feel better.

"That was awkward" she thought, as Gaer let her hand go, she must've probably blushed, "The only thing so far" Emma said and winked at him, just as she casually did any other time, she let out a laugh after it.

"This is great, every year I remember the first time I got there" she said, to no one in particular, but it was technically to Gaer since he was sitting next to her, he was probably bored after hearing it every past year.

Gaer blanched at Emma's comment and color returned to his cheeks when she winked at him, though he couldn't be sure why. He simply smiled to himself as he turned his embarrassed eyes to the line of nervous first years waiting to be Sorted.

He laughed out loud and said, "I remember the first time you came here, too. Outside of the fact that you retell the story at every Sorting feast, Em, I don't think anyone could quite forget the first impression you made on the entire Great Hall when it was your turn to be Sorted." He could barely contain his amusement as he remembered her falling from the stool in her excitement to be Sorted.

"School shoudl be odd this year; I have a feeling." Keira added to Harry still watching the podium up the front of the large hall.

Emma raised her eyebrow, "Don't worry I won't tell it this year" she replied, sticking her tongue out at him, "And like a true Gryffindor I stood up and walked proudly to the table" she continued, she remembered all she was thinking at the time of the Sorting was not to fall, but things went the other way, Emma couldn't help to laugh silently, it was funny how she fall that day, though.

"Later on you joined me at the table" Emma said, turning her face to Gaer, "How could things not turned out great after it, right?" she ended, crossing her arms to rest. She noticed Andrea and Valentine were talking, "Oh, that's good" she thought, since Val had been really weird Emma felt releaved that she was talking to someone.

Jared looked to the Ravenclaw table and saw Valentine was already there, she didn't look okay, he stared at them intensely, he couldn't help that, after noticing Valentine was talking to Andrea he didn't want her to hear what happened in the train, not that he didn't truly wanted Andrea to find out, but "What if she gets the whole thing wrong?" he thought.

Maybe Valentine wouldn't tell her yet, he continued to watch, paying little attention to the first years.

Syark Tealm stared at him, with no expression on her face, she merely nodded to him, then she just smiled. "It's alright, no harm done" she said. She had a melody like voice for her age. "I'm Syark Tealm by the way...you are?"

"A pleasure to meet you" Syark replied to him and she grinned. "I'm so new here, I'm going to get lost" she laughed and she closed her eyes before opening then. "What house are you in?" she asked tilting her head cutely to the side.

"Well, thank your much Ian" she kissed his cheek and she smiled. "Now, I know I'm looked after" she said with a grin before. "Well, I can't wait to get sorted and make friends" she said then frowned. She paused and she looked around. "Are we being watched or is it me?"
